Dog Training It's safe to say I'm getting back to my roots. I started with Dog Psychology, practiced Pressure & Release (or what I thought it was), dabbled in Positive Reinforcement, and now I'm back to Dog Psychology bringing with me everything I've learned from other philosophies. Dog Training You won't meet a sweeter person than Hanna Seitamma but don't let her voice or demeanor fool you, she is one hell of a trainer! Her knowledge of nutrition is deeper than most and you will hear why. We got on the subject of how we converse with clients that is GOLD for both trainers and owners. ENJOY!

Dog Training I'm a firm believer of giving respect to the dog before they give it to you. It's disrespectful to put a tool on a dog and immediately use it to communicate with them. We have to show them respect and take our time.....as trainers it's our job to take the time.

Dog Training I have to say that once I started talking with Cheryl it just felt like we clicked. This was such an easy going conversation and you can tell that she is a true professional. I loved her poise, confidence, and transparency. I hope you enjoy this episode.....I know I did.

Dog Training I wish more dog owners knew about this concept. Too many times I dogs that are stressed out being petting and told "everything is going to be okay". Dog Training This was my first time interviewing 2 trainers that work and live together and I think you will notice they are very much alike yet different. Both Mailee and Lise are working towards a common goal of better behaved dogs but sometimes the dogs react differently towards them. This is extremely common with spouses in the same home and they give some excellent information on how to handle those tough situations.

Dog Training I think as dog owners we give affection to our dog without even realizing we are doing it. And when this happens we aren't aware that the affection we are giving to our dogs is nurturing their current state of mind. Dog Training When Linn was here to work with us he used a term I had never heard before - Social Pressure. Now that he made us aware of it I see it everywhere! Here is my explanation of what it is and how it can manifest itself into certain behaviors!

Dog Training I don't think you will find a nicer guy than Dan. He has packed a wealth of experience in a short amount of time attending both levels of TCW, working in rescue, and working for a few different dog daycare's. He grew up in a house where his mom was helping rescue dogs so he's been with dogs since day 1. Enjoy the conversation, I don't think you will find a nicer guy!

Dog Training This is something that has been on my mind lately and I wanted to share it with all of you. I am a BIG believer in what my gut is telling me and I try to listen to it all day. Don't get me wrong, there are times when I go against it to this day but I'm learning as I go. There are a million dog training programs out there, why? Because there is not one way to train millions of dogs.

Dog Training Where have I been? Working with dogs and not having much time for anything else. But it’s been a fun couple of weeks seeing dogs the way I never have. Using sensitivity - theirs and mine - to better our communication. This is what I’ve always wanted to do, and I’m a beginner at it to a degree. But I’m looking forward to this journey, and I’m happy you are on it with me.

Dog Training It was a true pleasure to speak with Kevin.....from his hospital bed. He was currently in between surgeries when we recorded the podcast and working his way through anesthesia. What attracted me to Kevin was learning that he breeds, raises, and trains Labrador Retrievers from his wheelchair! He has a new project called Wheels on Water that you will definitely want to hear about.
