Today I change up my wine reviews with a local tastings at Niko's Wine Corner for their weekly wine tasting.  We record live to get not only the atmosphere but get the feel of live tasting to see if it is worth doing it again.  The presenter interacts with others while presenting wine to all of us and I let him give you the details.  We speak to Zane Crist from the Atlanta beverage wine and spirits about the selections he brought along. This episode Alicia and I go see the movie Girls trip.  Not top on my list but we heard a lot of critical pluses about the movie and it did have some great veteran female leads.  so we took the chance and went to see it.  Yup I went too.  What we found was something that wasn't what the trailers totally represented or what the normal raunchy buddy trip normally shows us. Best friends Ryan, Sasha, Lisa and Dina are in for the adventure of a lifetime when they travel to New Orleans for the annual Essence Festival. Along the way, they rekindle their sisterhood and rediscover their wild side by doing enough dancing, drinking, brawling and romancing to make the Big Easy blush.

Once there, she teams up with an embedded station chief to navigate her way through the deadliest game of spies.  It is based on a graphic novel by Antony Johnston and Sam Hart called The Coldest City Alicia and I went to this movie ready for some kick ass spy stuff and really trying see what this movie was all about.  We saw some pretty good major actors in this movie along with Charlize Theron that help her along her trip to find the proverbial spy list with all the agents in the whole wide world.

Tuesday Night Red is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, and a truly pleasant example at this price.  Though typically assertive in flavor as Cabernet is, this one is gentle in style: black fruits, and a slightly ripe fruit edge in the nose and on the palate, with a touch of black licorice and pepper.  There is still a freshness to the black currant-like taste, and a soft balance between the acids and natural tannins.  This is not a porterhouse steak and cigar type Cabernet, but the beef food pairing is still hard to beat - for this bottle, on a Tuesday night, maybe a great grilled burger with sharp cheddar and caramelized onions instead

Amidst the chaos of the Detroit Rebellion, with the city under curfew and as the Michigan National Guard patrolled the streets, three young African American men were murdered at the Algiers Motel. This episode Alicia and watch another one of the best directors working today (Kathryn Bigelow ) The director of the previous two blockbusters The Hurt Locker and Zero Dark Thirty.  Since we didn't have much history of what went on in the city of Detroit during this era.  We weren't sure if this was worth going to see  But when we found out Kathryn was director it, I knew we had to see it.  This is a very intense and contemporary movie of what is going on in our society right now.

Beaujolais Nouveau day is marked in France on the third Thursday in November with fireworks, music and festivals. Under French law, the wine is released at 12:01 a.m., just weeks after the wine's grapes have been harvested. This Beaujolais is a red wine made from Gamay grapes produced in the Beaujolais region of France. This "Beaujolais Day" is accompanied by publicity events and heavy advertising. The traditional slogan, even in English-speaking countries, was "Le Beaujolais nouveau est arrivé!" (literally, "The new Beaujolais has arrived!"), but in 2005 this was changed to "It's Beaujolais Nouveau Time!". In the United States, it is promoted as a drink for Thanksgiving, which always falls exactly one week after the wine is released (on the fourth Thursday of November). Many producers release the nouveau with colourful or abstract design that changes every year, usually as an evolution from the previous year's design.
