So where's the Republican race right now? Popular vote-close. Electoral votes-Hillary Clinton is ahead.
Trump is running around trying to throw a little gasoline on a smoldering fire...
So the Trump campaign is trying to reorganize and get some traction again because it is falling behind. There's no doubt about that.
It's interesting that the Trump campaign is recognizing that there are some problems. There's no question about it.
No matter what he says or does, you're not going to be able to override the demonization that has gone on. You can't.
Why Americans don't demand that both Trump and Clinton go on the issue track...I don't know. Because the personality is tired. I'm tired of it, tired of the gaffes and all of that.
Normandy is a place where all American kids and adults should see. You can see how it really happened and what the price of freedom really is. We beat back the Third Reich and it cost tens of thousands of lives to do so.
As I explained earlier this week, I made the same mistake that Trump is making. Remember, he's a new guy into this big media spotlight, and he's making some mistakes.
If you're going to respond to critics or lies, whatever, deceit, you've got to do it surgically. Trump's mistake is that he, as Kirsten Powers pointed out, he brought in a wife, the wife of a dead army captain.
I hope you listened closely to the Talking Points - and we have posted it on BillOReilly.com, as we always do. Because this is basically the dilemma that Hillary Clinton has.
So to me it's a situation where you have a country that is absolutely divided. Absolutely divided all the way down the line. There's real anger on both sides.
So once again your humble correspondent is in the middle of a controversy, which is contrived and ridiculous, but it's there.
I'm not offended too much by what's going on at the Democratic Convention as far as their behavior. I think the behavior is predictable. I'm not hearing any crazy racist stuff out of them right now-they're not doing that.
