 RAS #538 - Broken Arrow | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 59:50

Well, this was an interesting week at . Not only did it snow in the Pacific Northwest, which never happens in April, it caused power outages and brought not one but two trees down in my backyard. Quite the week. So, as you might imagine, it was hard to get the show done. The good news is that we do have a story for you. If you want to know more about what happened head to the website and you can .  Featured Story - Broken Arrow Our featured story comes from the Screen Directors Playhouse. It broadcast adaptations of feature films with the original directors involved in the productions. Beginning in 1955 the series moved to television focusing on original teleplays and adaptations of famous short stories. What we will hear today was adapted to radio from a Jimmy Stewart western.   Broken Arrow was released in 1950 and was directed by Delmer Daves. It starred James Stewart, Jeff Chandler, and Debra Paget. The film is based on historical figures but fictionalizes their story. It was nominated for three Academy Awards and won a Golden Globe Award for Best Film Promoting International Understanding. On , “Houston We Have  A Problem”. This week we were scheduled to have an edition of Ghost Stories With Sylvia. To make it even better it is read for us by Audible celebrity and friend to the podcast Mark Nelson.  RAS #532 - The 4-D Doodler | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 59:19

On I have a question. Have you ever had your body torn apart and strewn about the room? Two listeners with the same experience? You have to check this out.  Featured Story - The 4-D Doodler Our featured story comes from the early days of science fiction. Science fact was making headway on many topics. However, multiverses and dimensional positioning was not one of them. In today‘s science, we still have very little concrete data on the subject. Our story is all about four-dimensional nonsense and a professor's head being suspended above his dismembered body. The tale is titled The 4-D Doodler and was written by Graph Waldeyer.  RAS #531 - The Golden Snake | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 59:13

On we are full of snakes. We have a ghost snake, a golden snake, and even our Johnny Is It True is all about snakes. We instinctively fear them, but we are not afraid of fast cars, which are a real danger. This suggests our emotions were shaped by our evolutionary environment, not the one we grew up in. So, it should come as no surprise that we have many stories about them. Please enjoy just a few! Here are some snake facts for you:  Snakes are carnivores. Snakes don’t have eyelids. Snakes can’t bite food so they have to swallow it whole. Snakes have flexible jaws which allow them to eat prey bigger than their head! Snakes are found on every continent of the world except Antarctica. Snakes have internal ears but not external ones. Snakes used in snake charming performances respond to movement, not sound. There are around 3000 different species of snake. Featured Story - The Golden Snake Our featured story is about greed, want, and adventure. What we have is an exciting story of supernatural Mayan priests and a lost temple of gold in the Yucatan. A pilot finds the offer of a job in Mexico too financially attractive to turn down, but when he arrives it turns out that the rewards are far higher than he could ever have imagined and, as if things couldn't get any better, he will be working alongside a beautiful young woman. Unfortunately, there is a downside. Everyone who has been involved with the expedition in the past seems to be dead. The story is titled The Golden Snake and it aired on the OTR series Escape on April 14, 1950. Other Stories Include - Murder By Plane Crash, The Caves of Steel, Why Did It Have To Be Snakes, The Golden Snake, and Johnny Is It True - Snakes.
