 RAS #486 - Dead Man's Planet | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 59:26

On we have a Near Death Experience from Chad and a story from Darren that just might have you believing in the paranormal (or least wanting a shave and a haircut). Featured Story - Dead Man's Planet Our featured story is captivating. It first appeared in Galaxy Science Fiction in February of 1955. It is not like anything we have had before on the podcast. It presents a picture of the future that probably represents what space travel and planet-hopping will be like. It was written by William Morrison and is read for us by Mark Nelson.  The story is titled Dead Man's Planet. When a driven man arrives at a cemetery world, what else can it be but the journey's end or the start of a new one? It comes from the pulp magazines and is read for us by Dale Grothman. This is a packed show. Featured Story - Operation Distress Our featured story is a science fiction classic.  It was written by Lester del Rey and first appeared in Galaxy Science Fiction - August of 1951. There are many things that could go wrong in space, but one that is more feared than any is the threat of picking up a new disease. Even during the space age of the sixties and seventies astronauts were held in quarantine to ensure that they hadn’t picked up something while up there. That is what our story is about today. It is titled Operation Distress and opens with these words. Explorers who dread spiders and snakes prove that heroism is always more heroic to outsiders. Then there's the case of the first space pilot to Mars who developed an itch Ron’s Amazing Stories Sponsored by: Audible - You can get a free audiobook and a 30 day free trial at   and - Good Treats for your dog to eat.  RAS #475 - In Pursuit Of A Ghost | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 59:26

On we have a story from Alex in Saint Bernard Parish who encounters a couple who drowned during Katrina. Then we play a classic story from director and actor Orson Welles. In this one we learn that it might be best if you tell the truth from the start to avoid unnecessary complications. We end the show with some Dominios history that the company would rather forget. I am sure we all understand that. Featured Story - Pursuit of a Ghost Our featured story is all about  Harry Lime from the celebrated 1949 film The Third Man. In that film Orson Welles' character, Harry Lime, was killed. So our tale is a "prequel" of sorts.  Harry tries some shenanigans to get some cash and finds himself lost in a battle to find the criminal El Zorro. What we have is an episode from the OTR series The Lives Of Harry Lime. It comes from November of 1951 and is tilted In Pursuit of a Ghost. You will not believe the ghost stories he experienced while staying at the Planter’s Inn. Also on the show are two listener tales that fall directly into the category of the head scratcher. A postman tries to make a delivery and is halted by a ghost, and a shadow on the wall defies any logic. We end the show with a brand new Johnny Is It True, alien edition. About Jason Dowd - From an early age, Jason has loved his art. Over the years he has used various mediums, but none was more profound to him than photography. He finds inspiration wherever he goes because he keeps his eyes open for things that will make the perfect photo.  RAS #472 - A Year In Review | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 59:53

We are close to a new year and I thought that we should do a review. But after the year we have had, and if we are all being honest, do we really want to review it? I for one do not! However, there is something worth our time. This past year has seen more stories than ever submitted to the show. Probably due to our self isolation. We have had more great adventures, amazing encounters and some strangeness that can’t be explained. There is no way we can listen to every story that was sent in. However, what we can do is pick one story for each month. That is what I have done for this week's podcast. I have picked what I think are best listener stories from January to December.  It was tough job picking just 12 stories, but I think I have done it.  You will have to be the judge. -Ron Ron’s Amazing Stories Sponsored by: Audible - You can get a free audiobook and a 30 day free trial at   and - Good Treats for your dog to eat.
