Intermission Podcast

Summary: The Intermission podcast is a look into the world of movies from four friends, who really have no business running a podcast. The podcast is primarily movie related, but often the Movie Guys will get sidetracked, and discuss anything that may be happening in their lives at that given moment. Video games, comics, trailers, and a little genre they like to call "other".

Ep 13: Homefront, Viral Marketing, and Guy’s Rage Gauge | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:23:53

Guy suggests that Ghostbusters should be remade starring Will Ferrell. He's an idiot, nobody listen to him. The MovieGuys discuss Homefront which we watched this week. Possibly one of the most awesome movies of the year. Everyone agrees that it is very underrated, and is a must watch for action movie fans, Jason Statham fans, and James Franco fans. Craig was surprised that it was written by Sylvester Stallone. Have you heard about a little movie called Only God Forgives? Well, Corey watched it. Verdict, terrible. So don't waste your time. Over the Thanksgiving holiday we all spent some time watching movies. Guy watched three films (but not a trilogy). 2 Guns, The Heat, and The Internship. Craig discusses Detroit Rock City, the Back to the Future trilogy, and Star Wars (which leads to a discussion of it's own). Star Wars VII News: A rumor surfaces that Jar Jar will return for episode VII. The Movieguys are not pleased, but hey, it's just a rumor. Could Bobba Fett have possibly killed Luke's aunt and uncle? JJ commissioned the building of a 1:1 scale replica of the Millennium Falcon to use as a set for filming Episode VII Corey is still arguing whether or not a parsec is distance or time. In memory of Paul Walker, Guy wants to light a candle. But we all decide it's a bad idea due to the level of farts that are in the studio. The Paul Walker discussion of course leads to a talk about the future of Fast and Furious 7. Some Walking Dead stuff was talked about here. I dunno what it was, I wasn't really paying attention. Josh brings up movies and viral marketing campaigns. The most recent being Magneto in the JFK video, finally, the magic bullet theory makes sense! Here's a video of Ron Burgundy hosting a real news cast in North Dakota or some place.

Ep 12: Pitchblack Mountain Dew, Remakes, and The Righteous Plunger | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:21:43

In this weeks episode: We start out the episode discussing the most recent movies we have watched. Matt joins in from the Obsessive Viewer Podcast, be sure to check them out on iTunes, check out their blog, and their back episodes. Guy is quick to proclaim that he didn't watch any movies this week. What the hell Guy? You are on a movie podcast, how do you go a week without watching any movies? Corey on the other hand re-watched X-Men Origins: Wolverine. This leads Guy into a tangent about how they screwed up Deadpool, and how he has a huge hard-on for Gambit. Fun fact from Corey: The new X-Men has the second largest budget in Fox history, coming in second place to Avatar. Craig watched RoboCop which apparently starred Red Foreman as the bad guy, and invented the DVD. He also watched Ender's Game, and Matt tells us the book is shit. Well, he didn't really say it like that, but we all knew what he meant. Unfortunately Ender's Game starred on of those kids that you just want to punch in the face. Matt, being a Pixar Fanboy, watched Turbo and Monsters University. The MovieGuys are obviously jealous. After Matt leaves us to go save the world from evil doers, we talk about remakes, reboots and sequels. This has been a common topic at MovieGuys, and we discuss the ones that do, and would piss us off the most. Have a remake/reboot/sequel that pisses you off? Send it to us! podcast@movieguys.org We get an unexpected call from Corey's sister, the first chick ever on the podcast, and she tells us her favorite movie. It took her a few tries to get it right, but we are satisfied with her answer. Somehow we get on the subject of Pitch Black Mountain Dew. Craig has a private stash from it's last release. He's saving it for a special occasion, good thing it doesn't expire until September of 2011. And the final thing I am going to mention in the notes is the reveal of our comic book character, The Righteous Plunger. We talk about other stuff this week, but you'll just have to listen. The Righteous Plunger just makes everything else irrelevant. Be sure and send us your criticism.

This week on the Intermission Podcast, Corey makes his triumphant return! If you listened last week he declared it his last episode, but apparently he just couldn't stay away. We talk about a 5 year-old whose dreams came true when the Make a Wish Foundation made him Batkid for the day. 2015 is apparently going to be a blockbuster year for movies, and Guy pretty much invents our comic book, "The Janitor." And we totally watched Wake Up Ron Burgundy, which was awesome! In this week's episode: The PS4 has dropped and gone almost completely unnoticed by the MovieGuys. Microsoft congratulates Sony on a successful launch and pretty much steals the spotlight. We discuss the age old question: "Which is better, BluRay or HD-DVD?" Sure, it's a bit late to be discussing which is better, but we do it anyways. Batkid saves San Francisco from the Riddler, Penguin, and brings a tear to our eyes. Read more about it here. The Best Night Ever trailer looks annoying. Best Night Ever - Red Band Trailer from Samantha Colburn on Vimeo. While we are on the Batman subject, Kevin Smith has seen, and approves of the new Bat-Suit. He knows his Batman stuff, but Craig is still skeptical. Hey Corey's back! He says he can't stay away because if he did Guy would only talk about Ninja Turtles, Craig would just hate on The Walking Dead, and Josh would just talk about his catapult thing, which is actually pretty cool. Mission Impossible 5 is setting itself up for failure by setting a release date one week after Star Wars VII. 2015 is shaping up to be big year for movies: Assassins Creed Jurassic World Independence Day 2 Secret Service Ant Man Despicable Minions Batman vs Superman Fantastic 4 Avengers 2 Will 50 Shades of Gray be NC-17? Maybe!

The wait is over, it's time for episode #10 of the Intermission Podcast! This week we say goodbye to Corey, as he has declared it to be his last episode, and we answer the age-old question: Is it OK to sneak snacks into a movie theater? Also this week we talk about Thor 2 (which Corey saw without Guy), White House Down, and Corey lays down all kinds of movie news. And somehow, this turned out to be a very science-y episode.

It's Tuesday, which means it's time for another action packed episode of the Intermission Podcast! This week Josh tackles a giant can of Monster. We discuss Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa, Un-Hung Hero, Special When Lit and Last Vegas. Also this week, a spider aggressively attacks Guy, luckily Josh was there to save the day. We give James Bond #24 a title (Chick Banger Extraordinaire) and a bunch of other stuff. So sit back, grab some popcorn, and enjoy episode #9 of the Intermission Podcast!

It's time again for another edition of the Intermission Podcast! Sure, we're a day late but just as awesome as ever. In this weeks episode we talk about Halloween Movies, a possible Anchorman 2 "alternate film", Scotchy scotch scotch, Star Wars VI, Captain America 2 trailer, and other stuff! We also invent a comic book about janitors, and Josh declares his love for Katy Perry. Enjoy!

Welcome back movie fans for another entertaining episode of the Intermission Podcast! First up an important update this week: Tuesday is our new release day! So mark your calendars, and start looking forward to Tuesdays again. This week we discuss, text friendly theaters, Indiana Jones, CGI, Aquaman, and other stuff! Drop us a line at podcast@movieguys.org. Don't forget to email us your Halloween movie list, and your feedback is also appreciated. In this weeks episode! Guy and Corey start things off by discussing FDR: American Badass which they watched with Corey's Dad. The film is in the fashion of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Slayer, but much, much more ridiculous. The movie depicts a werewolf hunting, FDR and according to Guy, it is probably based on a true story. Guy rates FDR: American Badass a "shit ton" of thumbs up. You can watch FDR: American Badass on YouTube. (https://www.youtube.com/movie/fdr-american-badass) Apparently we (The Podcast) have an arch nemesis, Ben.... A Walking Dead discussion amazingly tells the future. We recorded this show before Sunday night's episode aired, and apparently several of our talking points were resolved. This week in movie news, Michael Bay was attacked by Japanese people armed with an air conditioning unit. Apparently he owed them 10,000 Japanese dollars, which we are assuming is the equivalent of $3,000 American dollars. Rumors have surfaced regarding Beetlejuice 2, and the discussion quickly turns to Ghostbusters. Craig thinks that the comedy wouldn't translate to today's times, which makes Guy mad (as usual). Vin Diesel released a teaser this week of him playing his role in Guardians of the Galaxy, which apparently he hasn't even been signed for. We answer the age-old question, does guy buy or rent? The answer won't surprise you. Josh reveals that Gravity has a short film companion called ANINGAAQ, which is the other side of the radio conversation that Sandra Bullock had from the escape pod. He said it was on YouTube, but I couldn't find it, so I guess you'll have to wait until Gravity is out on DVD to see it in the special features. Thanks for listening, and your support!
