Intermission Podcast

Summary: The Intermission podcast is a look into the world of movies from four friends, who really have no business running a podcast. The podcast is primarily movie related, but often the Movie Guys will get sidetracked, and discuss anything that may be happening in their lives at that given moment. Video games, comics, trailers, and a little genre they like to call "other".

Top Gun 2, Roman Atwood, and BTTF 2 Documentary – Intermission Podcast 32 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:10:07

Ready to get blown away? Then listen to this weeks episode of the Intermission Podcast! This week Craig and Guy get into an argument over which character was the head guy in Top Gun, at the Top Gun school. Of course it was Viper, but guy swore it was some other guy. Who knew a Top Gun 2 discussion would turn into such a confrontation. Also this week we talk BTTF 2, YouTube prankster Roman Atwood's upcoming film Natural Born Pranksters, and who pees in the shower! So sit back, buckle up, and get ready for another hilarious episode of the Intermission Podcast! This week on the Intermission Podcast: Is Top Gun 2 really in the works? I really thought that this was just an April fools joke, but it's been confirmed that a Top Gun sequel is in the works. This go around, Tom Cruise will likely be going up against un-manned drones to make it more modern day. Jerry Bruckheimer reveled the following in a recent interview; "We've been trying to get that movie made for 30 years, and I think we're getting closer and closer," "The concept is, basically, are the pilots obsolete because of drones. Cruise is going to show them that they're not obsolete. They're here to stay," We figure that Tom will likely be an instructor, and not necessarily the hero of the film, but who knows. The other issue we can't seem to agree upon is the soundtrack. While it would be cool to have a "Danger Zone" cameo via ringtone or jukebox, I feel it should take more prominence in the film. Let's be honest, every time anyone anywhere here's "Danger Zone" they immediately think of Top Gun. Back to the Future 2 Documentary The documentary will compare BTTF 2's 2015 technology to technology that we have, and will likely have in 2015. It will focus on the futuristic stuff that we thought would happen in 2015. Hoverboards, hover cars, shoes that tie themselves, and other futuristic like stuff that was portrayed in Back to the Future 2. Unfortunately it's a Kickstarter project, which takes some cred away for me. They supposedly need the money to license clips from BTTF 2. If you want to support the project (you know you do), check out their Kickstarter page here. Harrison Ford is kind of a dick Harrison Ford did an AMA (ask me anything) on Reddit and came off as kind of a dick, well at least Craig thinks so. Doesn't watch movies Doesn't keep collectables He likes snakes And when asked who shot first, he simply replied "I don't know and I don't care" However, he did seem excited about the idea of a Blade Runner Sequel, which is pretty cool, so he isn't a complete dick. Check out his AMA on Reddit. Roman Atwood big screen Roman Atwood, a Columbus Ohio YouTube prankster is getting a feature length movie? I'm really not sure how it's going to work. I'm assuming it will be a Jackass 1 style film, but who knows. According to the producers it will take the concept of Jackass and Borat, but on the next level. Bound to happen, people love this type of humor, but they have to keep using new faces. Let's be honest, everyone knows Johnny Knoxville and Borat, they would never get away with another film. The movie will be titled Natural Born Pranksters. Wreck it Ralph sequel in the works Of course the original announcement happened while Wreck it Ralph was still in theaters, but some new information has surfaced about Wreck it Ralph 2. From Collider; Composer Henry Jackman, who created the music for the 2012 original, told Collider in an interview about Captain America: The Winter Soldier that Disney is in the early stages of development on a “Wreck-It Ralph” sequel. He remained tight lipped beyond that, however, as he believed the film is a sure thing. I'm really curious to see what direction it takes. Will the arcade be closing completely? Will it cross over with home systems? Will Ralph get on the net? And will they include Mario like they promised in the original announcement.

Star Wars Special – Intermission Podcast | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:16:24

Red = Sith, Blue = Traditional Jedi Saber, and Luke had a Green Light Saber. Why did they pick the colors that they did? Was red to represent the Soviets and communism? Nah. Originally all the light sabers were white, but the special effects guys added the colors in post using a technique called "Rotoscoping." It was really up to the special effects team to color them. Example: Luke's light saber was green. Why? Because when he was on Tatooine blue blended in the with sky too well. Hence the SFX team made his saber green so it would be more noticeable. On the contrast, the blaster colors are reversed. Blue/Green signifies Imperial blasters, while the Rebel's blasters were red. We had to venture away from the movies to find an answer, but in the expanded universe they explain it has to do with the quality of gas in the blaster. The Imperial Troops had access to high quality gas, which get's them the perfect, blue/green blaster bolt. The Rebels on the other hand, were forced to use an inferior gas, which resulted in the red blaster bolt. Vader didn't even know he was Luke's father! That's right, the most misquoted quote in all of movie history was completely unknown to everyone on set. Vader, Luke, nobody. The only people that knew were George Lucas, and a single sound engineer. Mark Hamil first learned the twist at the premier of the film. On set, Luke was responding to Vaser saying "Obi-Wan killed your father," which pissed off the entire cast. Nobody wanted Obi Wan to be the bad guy. Wouldn't that have been terrible if they did reveal that Obi Wan killed Luke's father? Why are Storm Troopers such lousy shots? At the start of the series, the Storm Troopers destroy the Rebel, even in even numbers. Obi Wan even acknowledges that Imperial Troops are excellent marksmen. However, later in the series, they can't shoot anything! A group of them even retreated when attacked by Han Solo, who was alone! What made them so terrible? Here's the speculation, could the Storm Troopers have gotten orders to not kill the Millennium Falcon crew? The answer: It makes sense. They needed to track them to find the Rebel forces, and their plans. We will likely never know the truth, but I like to speculate that the Storm Troopers had orders to let them live. The E.T. - Star Wars Connection In E.T., when they are trick or treating, E.T. sees a kid dressed as Yoda, and gets excited. He proceeds to follow the kid, pointing and saying "home." This leads us to believe that either Star Wars happened close to the time as the movie ET, or ET was incredibly old. Then in episode one, in the senate we see a pod of ET's known as Grebleips. Which is Spielberg spelled backwards. Neat! Why didn't Chewbacca get the Medal of Bravery at the end of A New Hope? Ok, so first the medal of bravery was a Rebel medal, which was the highest honor that any individual could receive. Luke got a medal, Han got a medal, why not Chewbacca? Even in the novelized version of A New Hope, Chewbacca got a medal. So why not medal in the movie? The explanation is fairly simple. When filming A New Hope, Princess Leia wasn't tall enough to reach Chewey's neck. In the production process, they decided it didn't look right. Carrie Fisher's 5'1, just wasn't enough to reach Chewbacca's 8ft shoulders. Of course, this explanation wasn't enough for the fans. So later in an interview, George Lucas addressed the issue. Apparently Wookies don't like medals. So instead of offending the medal hating Wookie, they sent a group of alliance officers to Chewey's planet and throw him a party. There, medal problem solved. Sadly this still wasn't enough to appease the fans. So finally, in 1997 at the MTV Movie awards, Carrie Fisher presented him with his medal. Finally, peace in the Star Wars Universe. To be continued.... Probably.

Captain America, Expendables 3, and Guy Disappears – Intermission Podcast 31 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:01:59

I know, we're a day late, but you know, life happens. Anyways, on this week's episode we discuss Captain America, who should be in the next Expendables and Guy thinks he disappears when his headphones quit working. We've also decided to start a movie trading geocache, so be on the lookout if you are in Gallipolis, Ohio! This week on the Intermission Podcast: Captain America and Heroes for Hire First up on the show, we discuss Captain America (Spoiler Free!), which Corey and Guy didn't watch! What kind of movie podcasters miss Captain America!?!?! Josh watched Captain America at Silver Screen VII and was the only one to get the whole Captain America experience. Why? Because Heroes for Hire were there! Batman, Spider-Man, Batgirl, and of course Captain America! Godzilla Yet again we wind up in a Godzilla discussion. A new trailer was released that showed all sorts of new Godzilla footage. The most exciting for Guy was the foot, for some reason. Ninja Turtles Guy is crushed when he finds out that Johnny Knoxville has been signed to record the voice for Leonardo in the upcoming Ninja Turtles movie. For those of you that don't know, Leonardo is the most serious of the Ninja Turtles, and there is no room for comedy in his part. Knoxville has a great voice, just not for Leo! Guy is still at 70% hopeful, so no suicide watch yet! Expendables 3 The new trailer sparked a great discussion, Who should be in Expendables 3, or any future Expendables for that matter? Are fictional characters off limits? Movie Trading Geocache Lastly, we've decided to start a movie trading geocache. So if you are a geocacher in Gallipolis, Ohio be on the lookout for the DVD geocache! Not in Gallipolis Ohio? Start your own! We'd love to hear stories of our listeners trading DVD's via geocache!

Ninja Turtles, and Indiana Jones the American Bond – Intermission Podcast 30 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:05:56

Ever make an enemy at Wal-Mart? Apparently Craig has. We start the episode telling awkward situations, before tearing into our regular movie discussion. The highlight of this weeks episode is a discussion on the future of the Indiana Jones franchise. Could it possibly be the American James Bond? Also this week, Guy get's really excited about Ninja Turtles, Tucker and Dale vs Evil 2, and somehow we get on the topic of a chick with two vaginas. This week on the Intermission Podcast: Awkward Situations The episode starts with Craig telling a story about his Wal-Mart enemy. Who will win the epic battle!? Guy talks to strangers at the gas station Corey sings to old ladies What does Josh do when he thinks he's by himself? Pizza Addiction Documentary So basically there is this show, probably on TLC, about this guy that eats more pizza than Guy! Silver Linings Playbook Corey watched Silver Linings Playbook, which is his new favorite movie. He claims it's better than The Notebook. We're really not sure why he's watching either one but, whatever. Ninja Turtles 2014 Trailer Did Shredder create the turtles? Josh and Craig didn't like the turtles Guy is still nervous, Guy is at 80% confidence Corey wants to see more turtles Adam Sandler to Star In Pixels Synopsis: When aliens attack by staging versions of ’80s video games on an epic scale, four champion arcade gamers are called back into action to save the world Based on the short film Pixels which you can watch below. Pixels will feature the same writers from Grown-Ups 2, so it will probably suck. Could Indiana Jones be the American James Bond? Ok, so this week we all read the rumor that Disney was looking to continue the Indiana Jones franchise, but without Harrison Ford. Of course we learned that it was all just a rumor, but it sparks a good conversation. Could Indiana Jones be transformed into the American James Bond? I say yes, but the other guys don't seem to be on board. Hercules Trailer Tucker and Dale vs Evil 2 If you haven't seen Tucker and Dale vs Evil 1, then you obviously won't understand our excitement for Tucker and Dale vs Evil 2. And, most of conversation probably. But hey, now's your chance! Fire up your Netflix account and check out Tucker and Dale vs Evil! Kevin Smith to host late night talk show on AMC After Comic Book Men was signed for another season, Kevin Smith announced that he would be hosting a late night talk show to air on AMC. The show will be an adaption on his podcast, Hollywood Bable-On which you can listen to here.
