I'll be a good guy and give you a little bit of a spoiler: it was a very close fight. Will Mr. Boogie bring on the pain against Samara? “But sir, Christmas is a time for giving; a time to be with one’s family.” Now even though Mickey Mouse told these words to Ebenezer Scrooge many many years ago, we here at SEVRPOD totally believe in them still. That is why we’re GIVING you an episode dedicated to a wonderful FAMILY of movies known as Christmas horror. You see? Did ya see what I did there??? Soooo….yeah! We can’t possibly let Christmas pass by without taking a look at some classic holiday horror movies as only your friends at SEVRPOD can. In this show, we give Black Christmas a new shade. We make a little noise about Silent Night, Deadly Night. We also showcase the good that can be found in Christmas Evil. Ok. I’d say that’s enough word play for now. While it may be the last month of the year, it certainly has been a month full of firsts for us. First Christmas special. First 1-on-1 interview. First time we ever kissed a girl. Yeah. You read that right and let me tell you…that got very awkward VERY quickly!!! Most recently though, first contact with an actual movie producer to view and review their movie. That’s right! We’re finally somebodies and we intend to stay that way so listen as Marc and Fancy make the best Special episode you have ever heard in your life. 

It took almost a full year but we finally did it! We finally found someone with enough pity in their hearts to sit down and let us interview them for our brand-new (and right now first and only) SEVR Spotlight episode. Ho ho ho. Merry XXX-Mas!!! It’s that most wonderful time of the year again! That magical time where a Christmas miracle happens and the Super Evil Vampire Robot Podcast of Doom team manages to sober up just long enough to make their first ever Christmas special. Even down one member, we still put on our self-proclaimed greatest Christmas special that we have ever done. Since this is just our first one, you can take from that last statement what you will. In this episode, we’ll talk about 5 classic holiday movies including Gremlins, A Christmas Carol, and Die Hard. We also spend some time talking about 5 classic holiday cartoons such as How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer.  Listen as Fancy hops atop his soapbox and actually defends the bitter life led by Ebenezer Scrooge. Normally, we tease you in these summaries and don't tell you what we thought about a film. Well, this time we're coming right out and telling you that they were insanely painful to watch. And which SEVRPOD team member is responsible for this punishment??? That would be Fancy and his show idea submission privileges have been completely revoked until further notice. Luckily, our loss is your gain as we tear these 2 movies, Violent Sh*t and The Burning Moon, totally apart. They’re here! No, not the TV repairman coming to fix that static filled 80’s TV set that is a gateway to another dimension. Nope, it’s the Super Evil Vampire Robot Podcast of Doom! Back and better than ever, they tackle one of the most beloved and important movies in horror, Poltergeist! And….its two sequels of varying quality. Featuring special guest Ambrose, who you may remember from such endeavors as Channel WTF and the Halloween franchise episodes, the guys attack the movies with a fire that could stack wooden chairs in the corner of a kitchen. But first, it’s 2 minutes that will attack your senses like roaring snow covered automobiles, it’s the 2 minute drill. Many bases are covered, such as the Hannibal TV show, Damnation Alley and a little Playstation 4 sprinkled in for extra seasoning. Once that bit of business is out of the way, the focus is on pure Poltergeist as only SEVR can deliver. All 3 films are delved into featuring vomit monster sized analysis and humor. We even spend time going over Poltergeist 3. So you don’t have to watch it. Ever. So do yourself a favor and click on the episode because you don’t want to be that guy or girl. No one likes them and they emit a funny odor. Enjoy!

Faster than a hungry fat man sprinting towards an all you can eat buffet. More powerful than underarm stink from an individual who neglected to put deodorant on. Able to leap small children and little people in a single bound. It’s the Super Evil Vampire Robot Podcast of Doom, back in truncated yet still super powerful form. This is a special episode and as such, only Marc and Dave make the long trip to Metropolis and boy are our feet tired. Get it? Feet? Tired? Let’s move on because we dissect one of the biggest movies of the year, Man of Steel. That’s right, Zack Snyder, of Watchman and 300 fame, takes a break from filming scantily clad Spartan warriors and blue penises to reboot arguably the most iconic of all super heroes, Superman. And we were there on opening weekend and felt the extreme need to share our thoughts, feelings, and deepest desires…Since this is a special episode, we cut through the fat to get right into this movie. And let me warn all of you that this episode has more spoilers than you can shake a stick at. Why you would want to shake a stick at a spoiler, or anything else, we will never know. But either way, don’t listen unless you have seen it or just don’t care about having the entire movie spoiled for you. SEVRPOD explores all of the aspects of this film and answers all of your burning questions. Which if your questions are burning, might want to get that checked out cause it could be something else. Like the herp. But I digress. We discuss whether Henry Cavill is worthy of the red cape and if he can hold a candle to the original with Christopher Reeve. Lois Lane is discussed in a cage fight format between Margot Kidder vs. Amy Adams. Actually there is no cage fight but we compare the two and figure out which one is cuter. Spoiler-Amy Adams. SEVRPOD discusses effects, story, and everything else you could possibly want to know about this film. So even though there are only two of us, it’s still worth a hearty listen. TWOOOOOOOO MINUTEEEEEEEE DRILLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!! It has been over a month since you’ve heard us shout that awesome battle cry but we are happy to announce that the drought is over. Now if only there was a magic way to end another drought in Fancy’s life, we’d be in great shape. We’re kicking off November with an entire show devoted to those wonderful segments we like to call the “Two Minute Drill” and the “10 Minute Arena.” We love doing those segments each episode but is an entire show dedicated to them a good idea? After listening, I think you’ll find the answer to be a resounding, “yeah, fine, whatever.” In this exciting episode, listen as Fancy gushes over the ‘Bikini Bloodbath’ horror movie series; hear Tim get maniacal over 2013’s remake of ‘Maniac;’ gasp as Dave reveals that he has FINALLY watched ‘This Is The End;’ and cry when you hear Chris talk about ‘The Heat’ which as we all found out is NOT a sequel to ‘Heat’ starring Al Pacino. All that and even some award-deserving commentary about the latest big news in horror cinema such as the Conjuring spin-offs and the cluster-frick surrounding Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness 2. So grab that special someone you have locked in your basement, hold them tight so they can’t escape, and enjoy the show!

We here at SEVRPOD not only love horror movies, but here’s a fun fact; we also like math. Eight non-Rob Zombie Halloween movies minus the four that we covered in the last show leave us with…ummmm…let’s see…carry the 2 and divide by pi…ah! Four!!! Yep, in the exciting conclusion of our Halloween franchise retrospect, we go over the last four movies in the original series. The franchise began by bringing us a lot of fear and terror but as you’ll hear in this episode, something went terribly wrong with the people making these movies and that fear quickly changes to anger by the time we talk about Halloween 6. And we certainly don’t stop with just anger. We run as fast as we can towards all-out hatred for that movie! We get a bit more jovial again talking about H20 but the series ends with a heavy dose of suffering courtesy of Busta Rhymes and Halloween Resurrection. While the franchise may go out with a whimper, this episode certainly goes out with a bang as we all share a few final thoughts about the series as a whole. So please, sit back, relax, and enjoy all the Michael Myers-y goodness.

For those out there that are musically challenged, that opening line was VERY CLEARLY the piano riff (or whatever that’s called) that lets viewers of the Halloween movies know that Michael Myers is near and he didn’t come to here to play GTA5. See! We’re hip. We know what the young folk are up to these days. Ok, that’s a lie. But not a total lie…just…mostly a lie. In this first part of a two-part Halloween franchise series, the members of SEVRPOD, along with special guest Ambrose from ChannelWTF.com, talk all about the first four Halloween movies and review them for you, the listener, because we’re good guys like that. This is Halloween, this is Halloween, SEVRPOD screams in the dead of night! And why exactly are we screaming? Simple…it’s nudey magazine day! But better than that (well, maybe not better; more like on par) is the fact that the third, and final, part of our Halloween Tomb of Terror I special is finally here. While all good things must come to an end, we certainly saved the best, and most alcohol infused, for last. Listen as the SEVRPOD crew nearly come to drunken fisticuffs arguing over the best and worst Trick-or-Treat candy from our childhood. We also share our favorite memories from way back in the day (and for some of the cast, it was way WAY back in the day) about going trick-or-treating and visiting haunted houses.
