This week, the guys welcome Shawn McBride in studio. Shawn is the VP of Education at the Carolina Brewmasters homebrew club. In this episode, Shawn gives us a sneak peak at a beer tasting event he’s doing for the club. We brought in Girl Scout cookies and paired them with different craft beer. Here is a list of what we tasted so you can follow along:
This week we have a remote interview from Olde Mecklenburg Brewery. Weezie and Ford interview Joe Domm, who you may remember from Episode 2 as our homebrewer spotlight. Joe won the Rein Stein completion where his award winning Kolsch recipe was brewed in the big system at Olde Meck Brewing. This was recorded at the Kolsch release party at Olde Meck- Joe is joined by OMB brewers Sam Fonda and Brett Battista.
Our guest this week is Sarah Crosland. She is a food writer and book author who specializes in Charlotte dining. We picked on Sarah for having the hardest job in the world, not only does she get to try all the new restaurants, but she is an authority of where to find great food and craft beer together. If you listen close enough, you can actually hear Weezie, Cesar and Ford drooling as Sarah talks about all the great food Charlotte has to offer.
Ford calls in from the American Homebrew Association- National Homebrew Conference in Philly.
Our in-studio guest is Brian Mister from the NoDa Brewing Run Club. Brian talks to us about the ultra popular run club that meets every Wednesday at NoDa Brewing in Charlotte.
On our inaugural episode, Weezie, Cesar and Ford welcome in studio Rob Adams. Rob is a Nationally Recognized BJCP (Beer Judge Certification Program) judge. He tells us all about tasting beer and how to score it using a BJCP scoring sheet.
