That's how winning is done" "Amazon shut down my account." I was shocked as I was reading one of my favorite blogs on fbamaster.com. Chris Wilkey, a successful amazon seller just had his account shut down. I could hardly believe what I was reading. Yes I had seen the posts and yes I knew people who's accounts had been shut down but this is someone who I personally had followed. Fba Masters has been an amazing source in allot of sellers journey and now one of the founders accounts was shut down. I would see the posts about how peoples accounts would be shut down but I was not ever seeing anyone updating about there selling status. The reality has been that once you take the appropriate steps there is a good amount of people who have had there accounts reinstated. But what about the folks who's account didn't get reinstated? I had the amazing privilege of having one of my favorite amazon bloggers on the show, Chris Wilkey himself. Chris is one of the people who's account was not reinstated and he has written a three part series sharing all about his horrid experience and how he has come out of it. This is a story of success not failure. In this podcast Chris walked us through step by step how this happened and how he has overcome. I felt incredibly blessed to have our guest Jason Miles on the show today. If you are not familiar with Jason he is the author of the best selling book Instagram Power and ten, yes ten other best selling books. He has been featured in Forbes and other leading online sites and speaks nationally on the topics of social media and self publishing. Most of you in our community will be familiar with one of his recent projects, Proven self publishing with Jim Cockrum. He is a fantastic person and truly inspired me. To say it was a blessing to have him on our show would be a massive understatement. In 2008 Jason's wife Cinnamon stared selling her handmade doll clothing on eBay. It immediately attracted a following and In 18 months each piece she was making was going for hundreds at action. There business model was tiny and they needed a way to grow. After reading Jim Cockrums Silent Sales Machine in 2009 They realized they could build there own silent sales machine by selling the patterns for her clothes on a digital format. There business Liberty Jane Clothing was born. Within months these patterns began outpacing their clothing line. Pretty soon other designers where knocking on there door wanting them to do the same for there patterns. They realized they needed somewhere to host all these amazing designers so they created Pixiefaire.com. They now have more than 70 indy pattern designers, 1.2 million patterns downloaded, and $600,000 in revenue. in my opinion one of the coolest parts of their story was the creation of Sew Powerful. In 2009 alongside Liberty Jane Clothing the Miles family created a nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching entrepreneurial sewing & tailoring to women in the slums of Zambia. This organization is not just changing the economic state of these ladies but I truly believe they are going to change the economic state of Zambia. Special Guest Duane Malek Shares the Best Amazon FBA Bargains. For those of you who where not around before the OEA (online empire academy) existed, it was called entrepreneur idea dads. One of Brett's early mentee's was a man by the name of Duane Malek. He joined the group hoping to get out of his grueling 9-5 job. Very quickly he took the principles Brett was teaching and adapted them to his own style. Fast forward 3 years latter and Duane is now a legend himself. After only a few months selling on amazon he quite is day job and jumped head first into the world of online entrepreneurship. Our goal was to show you how Brett and our teams have taken a business out of our garage and turned it into multi million dollar empire with a 30+ staff. Brett Bartlett has worked thousands of hours developing what we have today and I am so excited to share it with you. In this podcast we are talking to our eBay master, Doug. I met Doug shortly after I started on Brett's team. With an extensive knowledge of the eBay marketplace and an unbelievable eye for BOLO's he took our team from 0-100 in 3 months. Doug is truly and expert. At 12 years old he started selling baseball cards on eBay. He was making a killing in that industry but saw the steady decline. His passion and drive didnt stop. At 18 he started his next eBay venture selling Vintage vinyl records. In his early 20's Brett hired him on not just to teach our teams but to add another dimension to his growing empire. In three months Doug took a company with no to little eBay presence and made it a $10,000 a month monster. The company has only grown from there. Doug's team consists of 2 full time processors, 1 full time shipper and one person that helps with listings and logistics from afar. Everything I know about eBay is because of Doug.
