Summary: I felt incredibly blessed to have our guest Jason Miles on the show today. If you are not familiar with Jason he is the author of the best selling book Instagram Power and ten, yes ten other best selling books. He has been featured in Forbes and other leading online sites and speaks nationally on the topics of social media and self publishing. Most of you in our community will be familiar with one of his recent projects, Proven self publishing with Jim Cockrum. He is a fantastic person and truly inspired me. To say it was a blessing to have him on our show would be a massive understatement. In 2008 Jason's wife Cinnamon stared selling her handmade doll clothing on eBay. It immediately attracted a following and In 18 months each piece she was making was going for hundreds at action. There business model was tiny and they needed a way to grow. After reading Jim Cockrums Silent Sales Machine in 2009 They realized they could build there own silent sales machine by selling the patterns for her clothes on a digital format. There business Liberty Jane Clothing was born. Within months these patterns began outpacing their clothing line. Pretty soon other designers where knocking on there door wanting them to do the same for there patterns. They realized they needed somewhere to host all these amazing designers so they created Pixiefaire.com. They now have more than 70 indy pattern designers, 1.2 million patterns downloaded, and $600,000 in revenue. in my opinion one of the coolest parts of their story was the creation of Sew Powerful. In 2009 alongside Liberty Jane Clothing the Miles family created a nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching entrepreneurial sewing & tailoring to women in the slums of Zambia. This organization is not just changing the economic state of these ladies but I truly believe they are going to change the economic state of Zambia.
