We had an ABSOLUTE BLAST having the our good friends Jay Bayne and Cordelia Blake from Scanner Monkey on our show this week. We have had almost 80 shows and this was one of the funnest. They are a funny bunch. If this podcast doesnt bring joy to your day, I dont know what would. It was so rad hearing the story on how Scanner Monkey came about. Jay is a true innovator and an inspiration to me. Cordelia was so sweet and got to share all about her roll in creating all the archives of content on there sight and in there groups. So what is Scanner monkey? Scanner Monkey was founded on the idea that a large group of sellers could share information, tips, and BOLOs in such a way that each and every member would benefit from the efforts of the others. Motivations is Part two of Passions + Work = Productivity We all have motivations, they are the driving force behind what we do every day. Why do you do you go to work? Providing for your family? to Gain wealth? or Making a name for yourself? We all have motivations I had one conversation that changed my perception on motivations forever. What was shared in that conversations was The 5 Basic Rolls of Business (the Wild West Version) #1-Explorer - The Modern day Inventor Example: Tired of spending hours on his lawn + Dreams of a better way to maintain his lawn + Begins developing his product and getting patents + Lets call it “Lawn Magic” What makes the inventor come alive? “I can invent a product that will change the world!” #2-Pioneer - The modern day Entrepreneur Example: He/She connects with the inventor of Lawn Magic at a conference + He/She buys in with the drive, team & cash to produce the Lawn Magic product. + They are the ones taking the risks that no one else would before. What Makes the Entrepreneur come alive? “Im going to find & fund the worlds next big product!” #3-Settlers - The modern day Developer or Architect Example: A Huge part of the entrepreneurs team + Creates a structure/system around the launch of “Lawn Magic” + Blue prints, website, Facebook groups, licensing and all the behind the scenes work. What makes the Developer come alive? “I live for laying the foundation, creating structures and building systems around a product or person.” #4-City Builder - The modern day Producer Example: Uses the blueprints given to develop the product further + Manufacturing + Building the brand (What is “Lawn Magic”) + Working with the website + Growing Facebook groups + Takes what ever the Developer gives and grows it. What makes the producer come alive? “I live to bring the best products to the best markets with the best team.” #5-Shop owner - the modern day Well..shop owner Example: The Brand has been developed + You continue promoting + You continue as the sales man or woman + The store (amazon, ebay, etsy……) has been created + You as the owner sell the physical product. + You hire on and train employees as needed + Complete the loop, consumers consume. What does the shop owner live for? “I live to be the best market place with the best products for my customers.” What are your motivations. What are the things that make you come alive? This podcast has the potential to change the way you operate as a business man or woman. Do any of these sound familiar? - There are too many other sellers on my products - I’m tired other sellers constantly undercutting each other to the point of no profit - Other sellers are changing the listings that I list against. - I had a manufacturer come in and close their listing so only they could list it. - I spend too much time repricing and monitoring the buy box - I don’t have many places to find items for retail arbitrage. - I want to move on from buying one-off products – I’d like to find something I can replenish. Would if I told you that our guest had the tools to help you concur these problems. Andy Slamans is an Amazon master and the Private label guru. We where so blessed when he agreed to come on the show...and WOW!!!! Andy shares goes into depth about of his top tip secrets. He helped us map out some of the pit falls of starting a private label business and gave us some fantastic opportunities to change our online business. What is Private Label? Google defines it as, "a retailer's name, as used on a product sold by the retailer but manufactured by another company." Andy goes into depth in this podcast about how to do just this. starting with amazon, finding a product selling well then Using sights like Alibaba in order to find the manufacturers. One of the major pitfalls people run into with private labeling is the communicating and the ability to nailing down a good manufacturer. Again Andy Slamans has the tools you need to concur even that large hill. I left this interview feeling more inspired then ever to overcome my fear of private label and get started on my future. Dont wait, be on top of your competition and start making the kind of money you have always dreamed of.

I don't know about you but I want people to see my products first. I want to make sure that my product doesn't go to page three in my category. The buy box and sales are key... How much would you invest in order to make sure this happened? Would if I told you that our guest had the tools so you didn't have to spend a ridiculous amount of getting to the top. James Harbal started as an Amazon seller. He saw that there was a gap in the market when it came to keywords. There where people talking about how important this concept of keyword optimization was but no one had created the tool to make this process possible without thousands of hours trying to list your product. So James set out to develop this tool himself. Having a background in web development He came up with the program Keyword inspector. Before i tell you what keyword inspector we need to talk about the importance of keywords. If a keyword in the user’s search matches one of your products keywords (or your title), your Product will appear in the search results. There are three main categories for a “good” keyword: Volume: How often is a keyword searched for? Competition: How many other products use the same keyword, and will they be ranked above you in searches? Will your product show up in the first page of results? Relevance: Is your Product going to appeal to people who are searching for this keyword? Now what is keyword inspector? instead of hunting for keywords that Buyers may or may not be using to search for your product, you can just get all the keywords that Buyers are Using to find your Product with a simple use of Your Top Competitor's ASIN. You may use your Products ASIN, but if it is not "popular" or if it hasn't been on Amazon for long you won't find many keywords, and many may not necessarily be related to your product. All Keywords are Amazon Buyer Keywords and are either suggestions or related keywords. They do not come from Google. Consider how much information you get from a single ASIN using the extensive search from our tool. You get ALL the Keywords that Amazon Buyers use to search within Amazon for products similar to the ASIN searched. You also get all these keywords ranked using our proprietary algorithm, using many different datapoints to determine that rank. Now instead of trying to figure out keywords by doing hours upon hours of sleuthing on google and other sites, you just type in an ASIN for a product. With a Popular Product that is similar to your product, you will get all the keywords you could imagine with just a few clicks and within a few minutes. What James has created is changing the game. This is a product that our company uses all the time and something we want to share with our community. I hope you enjoy it as much as we have.

You guessed it COMMUNITY. If you haven't realized yet, community sells....time after time. People want to know about you, your product and what you bring to the table to better there lives. You dont have to have your own private label or a private wholesale account in order to make a deep impact on your community. If you have a new product you picked up at a garage sale share that with your community. this will drive excitement and sales every time. People want to belong to something bigger then themselves. They want to be in on the newest and hottest items. You can be that voice, you can provide that excitement. This podcast will be an amazing tool for those who choose to implement what is given. These are tested and tried concepts. We have seen amazing success within our own company and want to share that success with you. Hey guys! Josh Woodward here. All of us have run into the problem of an angry buyer or seller. Its not always easy knowing how to respond. Good communicators are hard to find. After today you will have some practical tools on how to become one of those few fantastic communicators. You won’t believe the results you will see if you implement the steps taught in this episode. Why is good communication so important? We communicate every single day. Whether it be with family, friends or costumers you are communicating on a daily basis. The key is being able to LISTEN. A huge portion of listening is not just "hearing" the words coming out of someones mouth but your ability to articulate clearly back to that person what you have heard. The best business men and women have gotten where they are today because of what they have said but what they have done. Listen, ask good questions then do. Good listeners are fantastic communicators. In this podcast I will brake down how to become a GREAT communicator. This is not a "4 steps and your done" kind of class. These steps are a diving board into a world of powerful communication. You will need to adapt these lessons to your own life. Making them your own is the most powerful part of these tools. This is something I have been working on for the past 7 years. I am still not perfect but I am choosing to grow every single day. Create goals for yourself, implement each new tool one step at a time. You will be learning,  - Low and Slow Communication - The "I feel" Technique - 4 Steps 1. Calm Down 2. Validate that you hear 3. Pursue understanding 4. Healthy boundaries This, by far, has to be one of my favorite subjects and something I have dedicated my life to. Anyway, in this episode we talk about the one thing that will help you to be more productive in EVERYTHING that you are doing, and that is passion.  Before you tune out, no we are not talking about following your passion and building a business around it.  We are talking about finding something that you are passionate about outside of your normal work. By finding something that you can be excited about and support through your primary income stream you will do more, and do it more effectively.

Brett is back in this episode and he is sharing the #1 reason why he is able to run a million dollar business.  It's because of the Proven Amazon Course from Jim Cockrum. Not many people know, but Brett used to try over and over again to be an entrepreneur.  But over and over again no matter how hard he tried he was not able to get anything off the ground.  In fact, there were ventures that he tried to start that literally cost him thousands of dollars because they failed so badly. Thanks to Josh's wife, he took one of his products and started posting pictures of it on Pinterest with no real expectations.  But when he woke up the next day he got a phone call from his father asking him if he'd seen the stats on his eBay listings? They literally skyrocketed! I know that we've been talking about private label over the last few weeks, but I wanted to quickly pin Brett down and get him to share what the exact steps were to starting your own private label product.  The world of Amazon selling has changed and reselling has become harder and harder.  With that, building your own brand has become more and more important as a means to create a steady and profitable income stream. Now, just because the opportunity for a profitable income stream is there that doesn't mean that selling private label products on Amazon is easy.  In fact, you can really get burned by making the wrong decisions up front.
