polly put the kettle on
An original Irish/Old Timey tune
Flatwoods
The first song recorded by Cecil Sharp who went on to record thousands upon thousands of traditional songs both here in the UK and in the US. He notated this from his gardener John England. It uses flower symbolism (very old) where the violet=humility, the lily= purity, the carnation (pink) = courtesy, The red rose = guess what, Thyme= chastity and Rue = regret. I think it's it's the most beautiful of songs. I hope you like it - John.

ADAE. Learned from Bruce Molsky.
This is one of Garry's tunes from the Red Prairie Dawn recording. Key of A, tuning is AEAE. It is played 2 times fast and 2 times slow.

Two traditional French Canadian tunes, which I'm accompanied on by John Mowad, guitar, and Steve Nasuta, accordion. We played these, along with other tunes, together in the Lost Nation Theater production of "Stone" in 2005 & 2006.
I wrote this waltz for Marilyn O'Meara of East Orange, VT, whose birthday is the same day as mine (December 18th). John Mowad accompanying on guitar.
Adam Boyce, fiddle, with John Mowad on guitar, c. 2006
My group HomeBrew playing Happy Hollow. A slower, more mellow version than a square dance tempo.
