[audio:http://media.libsyn.com/media/daveslounge/DavesLounge-20080902.mp3] This week's episode is a bit of a milestone, as it features a band I never thought I would get to play on this show -- Thievery Corporation. Their publicity folks sent me a copy of their new album, Radio Retaliation, which will be out on September 23. Speaking of new albums, congratulations go out to Andrew from New South Wales, Christy from Columbus, James from San Diego and Noah from Boulder. They all won a copy of Natalie Walker's new CD, With You, which will go out in the mail later this week. Thanks to everyone who entered.  Dave’s Lounge #50 Revisited | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

[audio:http://media.libsyn.com/media/daveslounge/DavesLounge-20060629.mp3] So I got back last night from the New Media Expo in Las Vegas, where I had an absolute blast. It was tons of fun meeting and hanging out with so many great podcasters, including Anji Bee from The Chillcast, Brian Ibbott from Coverville, Roxanne and Shane from Beachwalks, Ariel Hyatt from Ariel PR, Dan Klass from The Bitterest Pill, Rob Walch from Podcast411 and Today in iPhone, CC Chapman from Accident Hash, Charles Stepczyk from Insomnia Radio, Elsie from Elsie's Yoga Kula... the list could go on forever, really. Plus, the Coverville 500 party was spectacular, and we all had a ton of fun out on the strip. I'll have photos from the New Media Expo up here very soon. Unfortunately, I stayed out late and didn't get much sleep while I was there, and I am heinously jet-lagged. So I've decided to release an encore performance of Dave's Lounge #50, which includes a speech I gave at a conference at Duke University three years ago. A few things have changed since then, but a lot of it still applies today, and it's kind of amazing how so few people, both musicians and podcasters, don't know about this. Perhaps I need to publish this info somewhere else on the web...  Dave’s Lounge #125 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

[audio:http://media.libsyn.com/media/daveslounge/DavesLounge-20080805.mp3] A few things worth nothing this week. First off, you'll notice that I've redesigned the Dave's Lounge web site, so hopefully it looks a bit cleaner and is easier to navigate. I plan on adding a few new features to the site soon, but in the meantime, stop by and let me know what you think of the new look. Secondly, instead of doing a Natalie Walker feature this month, I'm going to play one new song from her new album, With You, in every new show released in the month of August. In addition, I'm teaming up with Dorado Records to give away free CD copies of With You to Dave's Lounge listeners. I'll announce the details of that giveaway next week. Finally, if you're going to the New Media Expo in Las Vegas next week, send me an email. I have a long list of things I want to do when I get there, and I'd love to have some company. [audio:http://media.libsyn.com/media/daveslounge/DavesLounge-20080722.mp3] So I'm playing songs by Dive Index and Science for Girls this week, and it got me to thinking. I did a special episode for Dive Index, but I've pretty much scattered Science for Girls' music throughout multiple episodes, and I'm wondering which approach y'all like better. Feel free to leave a comment here with your thoughts. By the way, that little voice in the back of our heads that I mentioned at the top of this episode? Mine's telling me that I really need to redesign this web site soon. Among other things...  Dave’s Lounge #122 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

[audio:http://media.libsyn.com/media/daveslounge/DavesLounge-20080715.mp3] Warren Ellis used to write a column about comics called Come In Alone. The title referred to the only way people can enjoy a comic book. We can experience other media -- movies, music, etc. -- together with friends or complete strangers, but comics were almost exclusively experience by one person at a time. I wonder, sometimes, if we experience music the same way a bit too often...
