Éli: Se tornou de praxe aqui. Marlon: Sim, nem me conte. Quem precisa dela? Me matar. Éli: O que? Marlon: Me demitir. Éli: Ou seja, pedir demissão? Marlon: É, parece que soa melhor assim, né? Éli: Ai ai, Marlon... ----Formal English---- Marlon: Let me guess, Leonardo is not here, right? Éli: That is becoming common around here. Marlon: Yeah, tell me about it. Éli: I can't believe Leonardo would just bail on me like that. You know, all I wanted was for him to meet a great girl, and he finally did, and now I never see him. Marlon: You know what, maybe we should sit him down and force him to break up with Lisa. You know, dump her completely. Who needs her? Eli: Marlon... Marlon: Kidding...kinda. Éli: It's not that I'm not happy for him. I just miss him. Marlon: No, I get it. Leonardo has been through some tough times. Getting kicked out of USP, and his ex breaking up with him. You know...you got him through all that. And no one knows that better than he does, believe me. Éli: Thanks, Marlon. How are things at work? Marlon: Oh horrible, thanks for asking. There's this sales competition, and I'm pretty much last. If I don't sell some things soon, I'm going to get fired. Éli: So what are you going to do? Marlon: Same thing I always do—get fired. Éli: But...? Marlon: Truth is that Leonardo and I always complain about how boring Carrefour is. So, tomorrow I am going to go up to my boss and do the only thing I can. Éli: And what's that? Marlon: Well, what any warrior like Bruce Lee would do. Kill myself. Éli: What? Marlon: Fire myself. Éli: You mean resign? Marlon: Yeah, okay, that sounds better, I guess. Éli: My word, Marlon. --------------------------- Learn Portuguese with PortuguesePod101! Don't forget to stop by PortuguesePod101.com for more great Portuguese Language Learning Resources!

Learn Portuguese with PortuguesePod101! Don't forget to stop by PortuguesePod101.com for more great Portuguese Language Learning Resources! ----Formal English---- Patrícia: So Lílian, what do I need to do to get a driver's license? Lílian: Well, everything here is very easy. The only thing that will take some time is the translation of your foreign driver's license. Patrícia: Can I do it myself? Lílian: No, it needs to be a notarized translation. Patrícia: And what is that? Lílian: A notarized translation can only be done by a public translator. When they create a notarized translation, it has the effect of turning the translation into a legal document that can be used in court cases and government institutions. Patrícia: For example, like getting your driver's license? Lílian: Exactly. You needed one of these translations when you started your request for permanency in the country, remember? Patrícia: Yes, I remember. I also remember something about a joint? Lílian: Huh? Patrícia: Like the place where I went to meet the translator was at a joint. Lílian: Oh ok! You mean the Commerce Center? Patrícia: That's it! --------------------------- Learn Portuguese with PortuguesePod101!
