The SubGenius Hour of Slack Podcast

This is one of those hodge-podge episodes that was Frankensteined together from several different SubGenius shows and podcasts, with weird old-timey pop music (and one modern Al Mothersbaugh song) admixed in with LeMurian media barrages. The spouting duo of Dr. Brujaja and Overlord Anna Maul is represented; Dr. Philo Drummond, Dr. Hal and Rev. Stang lose their screens and checks at 22X-Day Drill ; StangDoe and Lonesome Phone Boy Dave have a convulute-versation via Tarzan's Radio Station (Glen Rose, Texas).

It's half a Lonecow Dave/StangDoe "live" SubGenius show from 11-17-"2019," with Dave in an especially surreal mood, and half Trump-bashing: hilariously stupid collections of our President's actual words (!), songs about the idiot monster including a Rudy Schwartz Project one right at the start, and pertinent collages, some of unknown origin, some from Puzzling Evidence. This Internet version has about five extra minutes added on, including a mash-up called "Grab 'Em By the Pussy." Hey, he said it, not us.

Peppered with LeMurian seasonings and old Drs. 4 Wotan stew, this is mostly Dr. Howll, Dr. Stang, Dr. Drummond, doktoring it up at 22X-Day. Of these three stooges, Stang is the Moe, Philo is the Curly, and Hal is the Hal. (He doesn't really fit into that original stooge trio formula like he does in this SubGenius one.) Subjects tackled include: The Near-Sighted Caveman, R. Crumb, and the origins of art and religion. What scrapple is made of. Pagans vs. SubGeniuses Vs. Boy Scouts. Frop.

Opens with an INCREDIBLE brand new trumpdumping song by Rev. Jimmy Ryan, "Sociopathis Liar" (lyrics are on the log at subgenius.com) and includes new rants by Uncle Onan, Rev. Watt deFalk, and Rev. Bleepo Abernathy. Other music includes Liberty Tubes, new contributor RadLab, Rev. Richard Negative, and The Slot Rods. Also: the fourth show from the first day of 22 X-Day Drill, with Philo Drummond, Dr. Howll, and new guy Rev. "X." And, the ear emetics of LeMur.

Dr. Hal, Dr. Drummond and Rev. Stang have been doing live SubGenius radio for so long that they could do it in their sleep, and this recording from July 3, "2019," at the 22X-Day Drill, may well prove it, even though the three old pros seem to be fighting constantly and perhaps fighting sleep as well. (In fact all three are stone deaf and talking in their sleep.) Highlights include a tour of The Salton Sea and a thorough dissertation on suggested SubGenius Weird Tourist Destinations.

Starts with cuts from Rev. Richard Negative's new SubGenius album WELCOME TO DOBBS.TOWN. There's also music from John Shirley, The Slot Robs, The Swnging Love Corpses, and The Liberty Tubes, plus ear-rippers by LeMur and Rev. Watt de Falk. Interspersed are conversations between Stang, Drummond and Dr. Howll from the 22X-Day Drill (July "2019") and between Overlord Anna Maul and Dr. Brujaja. All the problems of this old world are addressed, among other trivia.

After weeks of turmoil, finishing the final evacuation of the Cleveland Slackermansion and the exodus to Stang Ranch in Texas, we finally did a good old new-fashioned all-talk new show with Lonesome Cowboy Dave.That's all this episode is: one hour-long conversation. Revelations include the Church's face-eating chimp on Prozak, what it's like to be peein' mad while standing on the third rail, the oui wee Wei wee-wee-way, and how, if you act like a jerk, you're only satirizing other jerks, so it's okay.

This episode is another of those legendary "lost" radio hours from the 2017 20 X-Day Drill that neither Stang nor the Robo-Stang had heard until this week.It starts off a bit lackadaisically but after the halfway point Dr. Argus Faux raises the ante and gets things pretty fired up. "Cast" includes Dr. Hal, Rev. Fanboy, Rev. Peas, Rev. Eggplant, Dr. Faux, and Dr. Shoggoth. Listening to this recording two years later made old Rev. Stang very proud indeed of his future replacements. And a bit jealous.

"What wrestling is to violence, and what pornography is to sex, The Church of the SubGenius is to religion." -- Onan. This is one of those rare episodes that proves that smart SubGeniuses actually exist, or at least SubGenii who SEEM very smart -- because it's mostly Uncle Onan Canobite and Dr. Hal. The discussion is loftier than listeners might be used to. Recorded in 2017 at the 22nd X-Day Drill. Also: brand new earhole-kissing songs by Liberty Tubes, Fat Little Bastard and Superhornet.

It's StangDoe, Dr. Hal and a smattering of Philo for an entire hour! -- from 22 X-Day, second show, July 2 "2019." A bit of old Media Barrage leads to discussions of: Cornstarch and St. Ken Kesey aka Rev. Hardly Visible, BehaviorMusic, Pappy's timing. Why no X-Day at Stang Ranch? Stang's DNA test. The World is ending, plastic lichen pollution, valium in the water, suicidal amoebas, living dead rotifers!! Science News: a new End of the World every five minutes.

Then Dr. Sinister joins StangDoe and the Lonesome Cowboy for, after twenty years, one final bout of live jibber-jabber using WCSB's studio. There are some thank-yous, some reminiscing, some secrets revealed, the usual sudden tangents into twisted versions of current events, science, and ancient history, and some philosophizing from Stang regarding his recent indignities of aging and how they've slowed the final epic move of sacred SubGenius crap to the secure rural Texas compound.

Part Two of of an Hour of Slack/Radio Synaesthesia combo from August 25, "2019." Host Dr. Sinister, Lonesome Cowboy Dave, Rev. Ivan Stang and Princess Wei 'R.' Doe talk and talk and talk with various callers. Because it's the penultimate WCSB show for Hour of Slack, there is some reminiscing of vast historical significance, and much detailed revelations about "Bob" Dobbs and his Word.

Part One of a two-hour radio jam with Radia Synaesthesia, and our second-to-last live show from Cleveland. First half is uncannily timely songs from new CDs by The Slot Rods, John Shirley and The Liberty Tubes, plus some great LeMur collage and a couple of very strange rants by Rev. Watt deFalk. Then the SubGenius pundits explain everything about the end of the world and bad humanity. But most precious is a rant from the previously "lost" film "Scarlet Love."

Almost the next-to-last live Hour of Slack from WCSB Cleveland, as Stang/Doe are nearing their final move to Texas; this caused Stang to become quite sentimental. Killer new or revised tunes by Liberty Tubes (St. Andrew the Impaled's "That Ain't Cool Man"), John Shirley ("Pigzipper"), and The Slot Rods ("Night of the Living Tiki") preface an unusually honest live conversation with Lonesome Caller Dave. There is a long discussion about the late Rudy Ray Moore and other heroes of yore.

Great new unheard music in the first half and an unusually energetic talk tantrum in the last half. Liberty Tubes, John Shirley, Little Fyodor, The Slot Rods, 100,000 Leagues Under My Nutsack. Stang is all apped up, "luming" on "apps" and reverting into a pathetically apologetic Social Justice Puppy. Just disgusting. Lonesome Cowboy Dave makes his own confessions. All most unseemly.
