NINA: I’m wearing the classic…a little black dress to the knees, with some very high open-toe sandals. TERESA: Just a black dress? Do you know what kind of party we’re going to? I thought you were gonna be more creative! NINA: Of course, I am…I have a card under my sleeve, but it’s a surprise. I’m not going to tell you. TERESA: Ohh yeah? What is it? Tell me! Don’t be mean. NINA: Mmm, okay. I will give you a clue. My secret cannot be measured in kilograms…it is measured in carats. TERESA: Really? I’m jealous! NINA: Yes, my secret is the jewelry that I’ll carry. You are going to die when you see it. My grandmother left it to me. It’s really fancy! TERESA: Really? What envy! Learn Spanish with SpanishPod101! Don't forget to stop by SpanishPod101.com for more great Spanish Language Learning Resources! -------Lesson Dialog------- ----Formal ---- JORGE: Cálmese, hermano, cálmese... Realmente me hace observaciones importantes. Usted me conquista. Jejeje... JORGE: Ah, claro. Es un Premio Nobel. ----Formal English---- JORGE: Calm down, brother, calm down. Seriously, you have made some interesting observations. I had never thought like this. Remember that I come from Iberia. ALEJANDRO: I am sorry, but I am passionate about this topic. It's the reason why I am an Indigenist: I fight to return to our culture roots in philosophy and art; in the recovery of our science and technique; and above all, in the vindication of our people. JORGE: That's admirable. You conquer me. Hehehe.... You know that Spain as well suffered many invasions, but it's in the past. Our present and future are all about integrating in the world. I think this ought to be the vision of all humanity. ALEJANDRO: We agree on that point. But, that doesn't get rid of either the past or the present. If in fact we as a culture interest you, then you should read some American authors. In the case of Peru, have you read by chance José Carlos Mariátegui, José Santos Chocano, E [...]
