No importa que tan satisfecha pueda estar después de haber comido pero siempre hay espacio para el postre. En esta nueva entrada les hablaré un poco sobre los postres peruanos. Los inicios de la repostería tradicional peruana datan desde la época colonial, etapa en la que se introdujo el cultivo de caña de azúcar y costumbres europeas. Algunos de los postres más populares en el Perú son el arroz con leche, mazamorra morada, picarones, entre otros. El arroz con leche es un postre típico que se prepara en muchos países y se prepara cociendo lentamente el arroz en leche y azúcar. Se le suele añadir canela o vainilla y se puede comer frío o caliente. La mazamorra morada es un postre hecho a base de maíz morado. Una porción de mazamorra morada servida en partes iguales junto con el arroz con leche en un mismo recipiente se le conoce como “clásico”. Los picarones están hechos a base de masa de harina de trigo mezclada con zapallo, se fríe en forma de anillo y posteriormente se añade una salsa de miel de chancaca y naranja al momento de servir. Los orígenes de este postre se remontan a la época del Virreinato del Perú y solían ser ofrecidos durante la fiesta del Señor de los Milagros en Lima desde el siglo XVII. Los picarones junto con un “clásico” son unos de mis postres favoritos. Existen muchos más postres que espero tengan la oportunidad de degustar. Hasta la próxima entrada. ----Formal English---- Peruvian Desserts Maybe many of you are going to agree with me. No matter how satisfied I could be after eating, there is always room for dessert. In this new post, I will talk a little about the Peruvian desserts. The beginning of traditional Peruvian baking dates from colonial times, the period in which the cultivation of sugarcane and European customs were introduced. Some of the most popular desserts in Peru are rice pudding, purple corn pudding, and "picarones," among others. Rice pudding is a traditional dessert that is prepared in many countries and is prepared by cooking rice slowly in milk and sugar. You usually add cinnamon or vanilla, and it can be eaten hot or cold. The purple corn pudding is a dessert made from purple corn. A portion of rice pudding served equally with purple corn pudding in the same container is known as "classic." The "picarones" are made from wheat flour dough mixed with pumpkin, fried in a ring shape, and then a sauce of brown sugarloaf and orange syrup is added before serving. The origins of this dessert date back to the time of the Viceroyalty of Peru, and it used to be offered during the Feast of Señor de los Milagros in Lima starting in the seventeenth century. The "picarones" and classic are two of my favorite desserts. There are many more desserts that I hope you all have the opportunity to taste.
