Catch my Killer show

Catch my Killer

Summary: At any given time in the world, there are thousands of unsolved murders. Most of them will never be solved. The first 48 hours of a homicide are the most crucial to an investigation. Eventually, leads dry up, witnesses become less cooperative, and cases go cold (unsolved). Meanwhile, detectives continue receiving new homicide cases which push older ones to the back. After a case goes cold, it quickly becomes yesterday’s news. The public and the media will forget about the crime and move onto the next crime story. But do you know who won’t forget about a cold case? The victim’s family and friends. They won’t forget because their case is more than a case file or news story. The victims were sons, fathers, mothers, daughters, or friends. Catch my Killer is a podcast that focuses on the victim's surviving family and friends who give a voice to those who no longer have one. If you are listening and can help bring a killer to justice, please call in your tips. Even the smallest clue could be large enough to break a case wide open.  Episode 66: The disappearance of Timothy Guy | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3500

Timothy Guy disappeared in February 1987. His family believes he never left his place of employment alive. When Timothy disappeared, he was 18 years old. He lived with his parents in Snellville, Georgia. He had left home to take a job working at a now defunct ranch called the Sleepy Fox Farm located in Forsyth County Georgia. The ranch was roughly 25 miles away from Tim’s home. Not only did he work at the farm, he also lived there. Tim worked as a farm hand for a man named Phillip Klinger who is now deceased. Tim cleaned stalls and did other manual labor. He was last seen on February 6, 1987. Allegedly, he left the farm with a friend who drove a 1970 something Chevy Impala. And this is where this case gets strange. If you look up Timothy Guy on the internet, there are many articles and theories about his fate. Warren Guy is Tim’s father. He has been searching for his son for over 30 years. Over the years, he has heard many rumors about his son. One of the more horrific ones is that Tim never left the Sleepy Fox Farm alive. For this week's episode, I spoke to a true crime blogger named Anthony (Shurlock Holmes) who is Warren's friend. I also spoke to Dawn Klinger, who is the daughter of Timothy's late employer. It's been alleged he was involved with Tim's disappearance. Dawn has defended her father and said he had nothing to do with Tim's disappearance. If you would like to learn more about this story, please visit Anthony's social media sites or Timothy's Facebook page.  Episode 65: The suspicious death of U.S. Navy veteran Brandon Embry | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4382

On Sept. 12, 2019, officers responded to an apartment in Asheboro, North Carolina around 3:20 p.m. They entered the apartment and found a 33-year-old man named Brandon Embry nude and unresponsive. Brandon was covered in bruises and cuts. There was also blood on the walls. The entire apartment was destroyed. The commode was ripped out and the entire apartment looked as if it had been ransacked. Embry was taken to the hospital for medical care. Unfortunately, he died from his wounds at the Moses Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. The final ruling was that Brandon died from pneumonia and sustained several self inflicted injuries. However, Sarah Lee, who is Brandon’s mother is angry about the ruling. She believes that someone murdered her son and his injuries are the result of her son fighting for his life. Sarah has also spoken to a nurse who cared for Brandon before he died. She told Sarah that she thought it impossible for Brandon to have beaten himself to death. She said his injuries resembled those of someone who was in a car wreck. Sarah later found out that a neighbor had witnessed an unknown dark haired man arguing with Brandon shortly before he died. Sarah also mentioned that Brandon had a female friend who seemed to have information about Brandon’s death that wasn’t publicly released. Sarah has shared Brandon’s story in hopes that her son’s case will be reopened and Brandon’s death will be investigated as a homicide. The police have closed Brandon's case. If you have any tips or information about his death, please contact Sarah Lee through Brandon's FB page titled Brandon's voice (https://www.facebook.com/brandonwembry/).  Episode 64: Who murdered Danny Stowe? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2488

This week’s unsolved homicide goes back to February 26, 1982 in Atlanta, Georgia. The 39 year anniversary of Danny Stowe’s murder will be coming up in February and his family has no answers. For this story, I spoke to Lou Anne Carmichael, who was married to Danny. The couple had two sons together. Although Lou Anne has since remarried, she continues seeking justice for Danny. Danny Stowe’s story goes back to a strip club called the Purple Onion that was once in Atlanta. He was playing pool with his brothers as he often did. On occasion, Danny would work the door and collect entrance fee money from patrons. On the night of February 26, 1982, Danny was spending time with his brothers. The man scheduled to work the door called off. Danny was asked to work the door, which he did. During the evening, an unknown black man entered the Purple Onion and began ordering drinks. He asked if he could run a tab. He became angry after being denied. He was then asked to leave. The man left the bar and retrieved a gun. He fired into the club and fatally shot 28-year-old Danny Stowe. The killer then fled in a pristine Orange Nova with a black top. The Atlanta police secured the glass the man was drinking from. It had his fingerprints on it. They also retrieved the bullet used to kill Danny. Unfortunately, the glass and bullet have disappeared. Someone out there knows who killed Danny. Do you know who killed him? If you are listening to this story and know something, I urge you to call in a tip and help the Stowe family get justice. If you have any information about this case, please contact Atlanta Crime Stoppers at 404-577-Tips.  Episode 63: The murder of Lance Corporal Ronald Valentin | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3517

This week’s story is about Lance Cpl. Ronald “Macho” Valentin who grew up in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Like millions of other young men and women in America, Ronald joined the Marines. Although his mother Gloria didn’t want him to join, she still supported her first born son’s dream. Ronald kept in touch with his mom. The two spoke regularly. Ronnie would eventually be sent to Okinawa, Japan. Gloria last spoke to her son on August 31, 2018. For five days she went without hearing from her son. She found it strange and had a feeling something was wrong. Her son wouldn’t go so long without contacting her. He knew she worried about him. Gloria would learn that her son went missing for five days before he was reported missing. On September 5, 2018, the Marines contacted Gloria and asked if she knew where her son was. She said he was at his duty assignment at Camp Hansen in Okinawa, Japan. She was shocked and upset that they were asking where her son was. Weren’t they keeping tabs on their soldiers? A day later on the 6th, Gloria learned that her son Ronald was no longer missing. He was found in a drainage ditch 200 feet from where he was last seen. He had suffered blunt force trauma to the back of the head. Someone had murdered the 21 year old Marine. After two years, Gloria hasn’t received any answers from NCIS or anyone else about her son’s homicide. She remains in the dark and has no answers. She wants to know who killed Ronald and why? She has told me she will never stop pursuing answers until she finds out who killed her son. If you know anything about the death of this young man, please contact NCIS at 1-800-543-6289 or visit their website at https://www.ncis.navy.mil/.
