The Green Book was more than just a movie that won best picture in 2019. The Green Book was a must have for African Americans who needed to travel outside of their home territories. The book gathered information across the county when available for hotels, motels, restaurants, gas stations, etc. that were willing to serve black customers. The book began during the era of Jim Crow laws in the 1930s and continued up into the mid 60s with the passage of the Civil Rights Act.

In this Ozarks Tonight, Jenifer Abreu talks to Dr. Charles Hedrick about his new book, "Unmasking Biblical Faiths: The Marginal Relevance of the Bible for Contemporary Religious Faith" which aims to address some of the challenges to traditional Christian faith in the modern world. Dr. Hedrick wrote the book sort of on accident, after blogging about his own search into his own beliefs. "I wanted to examine my own personal religious beliefs, and to examine them critically," Dr. Hedrick said. "And then to examine my place as a human being in the world, trying to make sense of both reason and faith." "I came to the conclusion that the Bible was only partially significant for shaping religion in the 21st century,' he said. "The Bible has a lot of good things in it and it has a lot of bad things in it, too."
