Summary: The Green Book was more than just a movie that won best picture in 2019. The Green Book was a must have for African Americans who needed to travel outside of their home territories. The book gathered information across the county when available for hotels, motels, restaurants, gas stations, etc. that were willing to serve black customers. The book began during the era of Jim Crow laws in the 1930s and continued up into the mid 60s with the passage of the Civil Rights Act.
