Ozarks Tonight: Unmasking Biblical Faiths

KOLR10 News Podcast show

Summary: In this Ozarks Tonight, Jenifer Abreu talks to Dr. Charles Hedrick about his new book, "Unmasking Biblical Faiths: The Marginal Relevance of the Bible for Contemporary Religious Faith" which aims to address some of the challenges to traditional Christian faith in the modern world. Dr. Hedrick wrote the book sort of on accident, after blogging about his own search into his own beliefs. "I wanted to examine my own personal religious beliefs, and to examine them critically," Dr. Hedrick said. "And then to examine my place as a human being in the world, trying to make sense of both reason and faith." "I came to the conclusion that the Bible was only partially significant for shaping religion in the 21st century,' he said. "The Bible has a lot of good things in it and it has a lot of bad things in it, too."
