 Ep: 76 - Daydream a New Life - Imagination Research✨ | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 00:25:35

What happens when you spend 30 minutes a day actively imaging and writing down what you thought about and then comparing it to your real world experiences? I started a 30 Day, Daydream a New Life Challenge. Wait until you hear some feedback. We are going to talk about it on the podcast today! And - oh my over caffeinated. I stumble on about 20 words. I was so excited. Hope that doesn't distract because I was reading research too! "Why Imagination and Curiosity Matter More Than Ever" From an article about a book from John Seely Brown John Seely Brown or as he is often called—JSB—is the Independent Co-Chairman of the Deloitte’s Center for the Edge and a visiting scholar and advisor to the Provost at University of Southern California (USC). A master integrator and instigator of productive friction, JSB explores the whitespace between disciplines and builds bridges between disparate organizations and ideas. From the article: I think we’re way too focused on creativity. It’s misguided. We should be focused on imagination. . . The real key is being able to imagine a new world. Once I imagine something new, then answering how to get from here to there involves steps of creativity. So I can be creative in solving today’s problems, but if I can’t imagine something new, then I’m stuck in the current situation. . . "JSB’s comments on the importance of imagination reminded me of a book I read a few years ago, Innovation – the Missing Dimension, by MIT professors Richard Lester and Michael Piore."

 Daydream a New Life - 30 Day - Change Your Life Challenge | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:20:46

If you feel like making a donation for this track or anything that I have helped you with, I am appreciative. Donate Here --- https://bit.ly/2lDuBIc No one lives your exact life but you. Could you do this exercise in your mind right now? If I told you that we would take one minute of time right now, and in this one minute of time, you have a choice. You can think about whatever you want. And that would be your minute. So, if you wanted to spend this one minute right now thinking about the person you love the most...and you think about every little detail about that person, how they make you feel, how you feel around them and that minute goes by and that’s what you’ve thought —-about well that’s your minute!!! Likewise, if you were to take that same minute and think about someone who you wouldn’t care to even think about again, but you took that whole minute thinking about all the reasons why you would not care to speak to that person again, well that’s your minute. And if before beginning this exercise, we would both agree that you had a choice in what to think about in that minute. One way or another your time is being defined in that minute by what you thought about, would that be correct? So knowing that, if I told you that you could do a little experiment...and then of course, only you would know if it’s working, because you live your life. I wonder if you would try to take 30 minutes a day and daydream a better life? ✨

EP: 73 Empowered with Brook Cheatham | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 00:33:32

You are never stuck. There is ALLWays Another Way — even if you can’t see it. My guest has a story that will inspire, motivate and empower you! This is one to listen to and share with everyone you know! About Brook Cheatham - Yogi. Entrepreneur. Empowered. A word I live by. All of us have the ability to overcome things in our lives. Defining moments in our "story" give us a choice, the courage to either become our truth, or live in a lie. Before yoga came into my life, I was a young mother, strapped to a corporate job, with laundry list full of guilt, shame and baggage from a turbulent youth. Fitness goals led me to yoga, and yes, I became physically strong, but slowly I began to notice changes occurring in my actual nature. The baggage from my past started to slowly get stripped away. I began to realize who I was deep down, and deep inside beauty started to unfold where there was once only pain. My past does not define me, but I know the challenges I have been blessed with in this life are so I can empower others with the knowledge that all we have to do is look inside for the answers. That is what yoga does for you. It strips away what is not real, replaces it with Love, and gives you back what you truly are at your core, your spirit. And it's never too late to start.  Ep: 65 The Sheepdog + Toxic Masculinity + The Good Guys = What’s Helpful? With Colin Colwell | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 00:57:01

You’ve heard about “toxic masculinity” and hopefully you recognize there are many non toxic men out there too. As someone that grew up being fearful of most men, since I was a small child...and someone who has been abused by men...I have strong emotional feelings around this topic. I know many really good men too. I have a son. How do we ferret out the bad without alienating the good guys? This is a conversation I’ve been wanting to have with someone for a long time! My guest, Colin - you can see him in his Aikido photo, has introduced me to the sheepdog theory and the book, On Killing — which, wow! We are going to talk about all the above — and hash out what’s helpful for everyone going forward. There’s Always Another Way to see things. Being open to the voices of others and understanding where each is coming from....that’s right. Colin Colwell holds a BA from The Ohio State University, English Lit & Creative writing He has spent 16 years in the Army Reserves with 5 yrs active duty. He was an intelligence analyst, PSYOP Specialist and Instructor. He’s been in Martial Arts since 2004 Aikido sandal and head instructor. He also worked in the corporate world for over 20 years as a pricipal tech writer, team lead and process involvement specialist. While this is what he’s done - it’s doesn’t explain who he is — a guy that cooks his wife dinner, challenges himself to do new and interesting things to grow, center and ground hiself. A voracious reader with 8-10 books on his nightstand and in his own words — I’m a real skeptic, I like to consider all angles and possibilities and then make up my own mind about things. Skeptic as a term has been hijacked by the gatekeepers of where we are today. IOW, people planting their flags on the status quo and little, from what I can tell, desire to learn more and expand our collective baseline. www.allwaysanotherway.com
