 085. Obligations | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:47:10

It’s Monday and you know the deal! Kevin is up this week and went with the old school method of the “Kevin Generator”. He doesn’t break his own rule either, goes with whatever band it shows! He was pumped this week and hoped Steve felt the same! If you listen to this podcast frequently or have gone back to listen to older episodes, there is no hiding who Kevin considers his favorite band. This week’s music is tied to that band, and he wonders if there’s an obligation to like this band? Or is it just THAT good? The band itself is really good and the songs are really well put together and enjoyable. It is a different side from the band that they are from but it showcases a little more of their talent. Have you ever loved a band so much that any side projects that are released with those band members you immediately cling to it? Who are some of your favorite side projects that we need to check out? All of our contact information is below, don’t be shy! Thank you again for joining us this week and we look forward to next week where you get to hear about another band that has crossed our paths.  083. Moment In Time | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:39:53

We are back with another installment of the Music Crush Monday Podcast! Kevin usually stresses himself out picking the music each week and this week is not too much different. He knows Steve was either not into this band or into the style but assumed he would still know who it is. There is a great moment in the episode where Steve goes through his thought process deciding who the band is, but does he end up figuring it out? History says yes, tune in to find out if he gets it! Kevin recently found an old CD booklet that had one of this band’s albums. It was one of those albums that he used throw in his car just to jam to. It really brought Kevin back to when he was in a band and it brought back all those nostalgic feelings. Remembering being in a band and being in the local scene were some of the best times of his life. What bands are you into that you may not necessarily just love to death but love to listen to it because it reminds you of specific times? Or specific memories? It is fun to think that there’s SO much music out there and specific bands or artists that just trigger some good feelings. Reach out to us on social media or email us to chat about it! Welcome back to another EXCITING episode of the Music Crush Monday Podcast! The gents are back to show you more music! Kevin is back in the hot seat showing off a band that he really loves, but also has “No Business” liking. It’s kind of funny when a band like this comes up for Kevin because he has such a background in heavy/aggressive music. Why does this band stick out SO much to him? They don’t follow the normal guidelines on Kevin’s checklist of what he listens to. Kevin believes this band is creative and stands out above the rest. What bands do you like that share the same qualities? Reach out to us with the contact information below and let's have a conversation. It’s Monday! You know the drill! Grab your headphones, crank the car stereo and enjoy! Remember those “Choose Your Own Adventure” books? Well, Kevin gets to choose his own adventure this week. He got to pick the band at random from 3 choices, and it ended up being one of Steve’s favorite bands but will he know who they are? Join us on an adventure to find out! The band is a prime example of why we’re doing this podcast. Steve openly admits seeing this band live, writing them off, and not thinking much about them after. To only “re-discover” them and falling in love with their music. Sometimes that happens and probably happens way more than people know or like to admit. Music speaks to you differently at times and that is yet another thing that makes music so amazing! This episode full of stories and band history that you will not want to miss. What bands have you written off in some way or another that you have come back to just love? Reach out to us and let's talk about it! Steve’s back in the saddle again and brings us yet another unique and creative band to the podcast. What will Kevin think of the music this week? Do you predict that our good friend Ric Flair will make an appearance in this episode? Tune in to find out! In a previous episode with Mark Rose of Spitalfield, he said that every genre has good music in it, just depends on what genre speaks to you the most. We feel this is a perfect episode to explain that statement. Although this is not a genre that normally speaks to Kevin, he can definitely appreciate the talent. Overall, nobody’s opinion on a band or artist is wrong, it’s just a matter of what musical style or song speaks to you in your life at that time. We certainly hope that this podcast is bringing you music that is broadening your horizons. This week’s band will certainly do that for some, all you have to do is keep an open mind. Thank you again for joining us this week and be sure to come back next week when we bring another band to listen to. We certainly appreciate your support!  074. Pee Buddies | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:48:55

This week, Kevin is back in control and lets the music speak for itself! There isn’t a TON of history out there on this band but it’s a band he’s liked for quite some time. Kevin hopes Steve will like the band but also wants to see if Steve KNOWS the band, especially since this band was signed on the record label that Steve mentions most. Listen in as this one unfolds! Kevin openly admits that he doesn’t listen to the lyrics when he first hears a song but for this band the lyrics and the voice behind them is what he was drawn to. The guys get into a discussion over lyrical content when it comes down to Christian based lyrics. This week’s band has quite a bit of that but does it seem too over the top? Or is it written in a smart way? This band really came at a time in Kevin’s personal faith that made this band stick out. Yes, sometimes Christian based lyrics can come off as cheesy, but this band has a strong lyricist and take a really good approach to this topic. This band definitely has a radio sound and a feeling of “what could have been” which always leads to the question; Where could this band have gone on a bigger label with a stronger push to the mainstream radio? Unfortunately this band is no longer together so there is no clear answer to those questions. What are your thoughts this week? Reach out to us and let us know! We’re always excited to bring you new music each and every Monday. This week is even more exciting with Mark Rose of Spitalfield joining us. He sat down to show us one of his personal favorite bands! We got to hear about this band and their interesting style, and talked a bit about the music industry and how tricky it really can be. This band falls into the category of "what could have been" and who knows if this band had received the proper support if they could have been more. The best part is the music is still out there for you to discover. Thankfully Mark loves this band enough to show us all their magic. We can't thank Mark enough for joining us this week. Be sure to check out his solo work and support his website Downwrite.com. Music will always live on but helping out artists like Mark to continue to make music is greatly appreciated.  072. Street Team Winner | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:55:36

Steve is up this week and dives right into the music. He decided to show off an artist that he’s been following and repping for years. Who could it possibly be? Well there is only one way to find out isn’t there?! Take a seat in a comfortable chair and enjoy this week’s episode. Have you ever been part of a Street Team for a band or artist? It almost feels like a sense of ownership and pride for the band and music. It’s such a cool way for bands to get their name out there and when you join a street team you can generally get some cool perks. If you listen this week you’ll hear a cool story that Steve tells about a Street Team Contes…..and we all know Steve’s track record with contests! Are there any bands you’ve promoted via street team or has a street team ever worked for you? What bands have you discovered because someone gave you a sticker, cd, or digital download? There are so many ways to contact us, and we’d love to hear your stories. We certainly hope you enjoyed this week’s episode and as always we will see you next Monday!
