Welcome back to another THRILLING episode of the Music Crush Monday Podcast!  We know that you look forward to these episodes each and every Monday and trust me, we are happy to help you get you through your day and week!   This week Kevin brings another old-time favorite to the podcast and shows us all a band that had some great success.  The band has a unique sound that most people can pick out just by the sound of the singer’s voice.  Can Steve pick this band out or does he have trouble picking this one out of the crowd? Kevin tells the story in this episode of not being a fan of this band at all when he first heard them and saw them live.  After giving their second (and most successful) album a good listen, he couldn’t deny how much he enjoyed the band and their music.  He followed their career as they slowly released albums but Kevin has no issues just throwing on their first couple of albums and cranking the volume.  It is a fun band to listen to when you want to mix things up.   If you didn’t know by now, all of our contact information is below and if you would like to reach out to us and tell us the bands you enjoy listening to now that you didn’t like in the past please do so!  We love to talk about music and bands and we want to hear from you!  Make sure you check out the band’s links below and pass this podcast along so we can get these bands out to more people’s ears.  Thank you again for joining us this week, as always, we’ll see you next Monday!  Support us on Patreon!    If you want to listen to the episode as intended, please do not look at the featured band links beforehand if at all possible.  Check out our Spotify playlist for more of their music and please reach out to us via the links below.  We’ll see you next Monday!   Website  EmailPatreonFacebookInstagram Twitter  Intro/Outro music:  “The Breakdown” by At The Wayside  ***  WARNING!  ***    ***  WARNING!  ***    ***  SPOILER ALERT!  ***    ***  SPOILER ALERT!  ***    ***  Disclaimer:  We at the Music Crush Monday Podcast would like for our listeners to listen to the bands blind with us but we also want you to check out the band further if they were interesting to you.  Please review the links below to find more on today’s featured band.  ***    Band:  System of a DownSocials:WebsiteFacebookTwitterInstagram Songs Played: Know off of the album System of a DownATWA off of the album Toxicity

Welcome back to the Music Crush Monday Podcast!  This week Kevin is up with music selection and puts the disclaimer out there to make sure the kids put on those earmuffs! Kevin reaches back a little bit to his roots and shows Steve some underground music that he is fond of.  This week’s artist has an interesting career because when it wasn’t working out for him and the record label, he took his own career in his hands and that is when things started to really take off!  With some interesting choice of words and lyrical content, this music is aggressive and may not be for everyone but if you have an ear for this style of music, you should hear the talent and go check out more music by this artist!   Reach out to us and let us know what you think of this week’s selection!  We have all of our contact information below and look forward to hearing from you!  If you could also check out our Patreon page and support the podcast, that would be amazing.  Suggest some of your personal favorite music to us as well so we can even play those artists on the show.  Thank you for joining this week and as always, we’ll see you next Monday!  128. Piggy Back | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:50:01

It is Monday and we all know the drill around here! A band is chosen, music is played, we discuss it, you listen, form your own opinions, and then reach out to us and let us know your thoughts. That is what happens right? Well, Kevin has picked the music this week and openly admits the first song is not what you think of when you hear this band. Tune in to check this one out. So this was not meant to piggyback on last week’s episode but there is a similar theme. What is interesting is Kevin was thinking about this band quite a bit and the impact they had on him but the impact the singer had on this world. Then hearing the story of the singer of Frightened Rabbit it just triggered that it was also time to share a band with a similar result. There needs to be a silver lining in the darkest of times and that is where the music helps. Even if the lyrics are sad when you zoom out and notice their situation, it still helps you cope or helps you get through your own issues.  127. Using the "L" Word | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:43:05

You read that title right!  This week the “L” word has been spoken in regards to this week’s band.  Steve is reaching back and showing us all a band that he has been very into for many years, tune in to give them a listen!   A very interesting point to this band is the lyrical content and how transparent the vocalist is about his depression.  Music is a great outlet for getting out emotions or your innermost thoughts.  Whether this band wanted to do that to help others relate to them or if it was something that seemed to help him out.  Unfortunately, the fight was lost on this one and all of his lyrical woes came to light.  As sad as it is, the music lives on and hopefully helps others along the way. If you are feeling down and suicidal please reach out to someone!  You can reach out to us even!  Just see the contact info below to find us and we will be here to listen.  You could also call the Suicide Hotline  -  1-800-273-8255   Just know that you are not alone! ***    Band:  Frightened RabbitSocials:FacebookTwitter Songs Played: Modern Leper off the album The Midnight Organ FightSwim Until You Can’t See Land off the Album The Winter of Mixed Drinks Spotify: www.tinyurl.com/mcmep127

 126. Generator Band | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:44:39

We are back with a new episode and Kevin is in charge of picking the music this week! Tune in to find out what happens! It has been mentioned many times before of the “lists” Kevin and Steve have of bands and every so often the band is picked randomly but Kevin mixed it up by adding in the “check out these bands further” into the generator. This episode is running on pure adrenaline! What does Steve think of the music this week and what do you think of the music this week? The good news this week is Kevin has already checked this band out quite a bit! So much that the band should have been moved to the list to do an episode on. As mentioned quite a bit previously this style of music has been jamming through Kevin’s speakers for a couple of years now as in almost a “missing out” feeling . What was not liked before has been heavily rotated now. This week’s band has quite a few albums and it is always fun when discovering a band that there is plenty of material to go through and the best part is being able to take your time to go through that material. Reach out to us with any of the contact information below to let us know what bands you have discovered that you grasped on to and sifted through their material.  122. So Much Nostalgia | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:49:53

This week Kevin is back in charge of the music and brings what he feels is complete nostalgia.  He also tries proving the whole concept of this podcast to Steve and all of the listeners this week.  Plays a song that will be different from what everyone knows just so there is no preconceived thought!  The biggest question is, what will Steve think?  You won’t want to miss his reaction! Kevin openly admits to almost having an obsession with this band back in the late 90’s/early 2000’s.  It is almost like this band could not have done wrong.  It came at a point in his life where music was really taking over as far as passions.  Always being a music fan growing up he was always into what his parents liked or his brothers, this was a time where he was coming into his own and finding music he loved to listen to.  Even going back to listening to this band today brings back so many memories which is awesome even if he doesn’t listen to them nearly as much as he used to.  What bands have had that affect on you?  Reach out to us below and lets talk music!  Tell us what bands you love from your younger years or those bands today that you are just totally into!  Who knows, you could be showing us a band that we don’t know of yet.  Don’t be shy.  121. Time For Some Fun | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:40:15

We like to have fun here at Camp MCM! Do you like to have fun? Good! Assuming your answer was “yes” to that question. This week Steve is up and he is doing what he does best. Showing us all a band he is into and the best part is, you get to hear the band and listen to why he is into this band. Tune in to see what you think of the music and the stories to go along with it. Music can be happy, sad, serious, or even silly. There are bands and artists out there to fit just about any mood you may be in. Sometimes your mood is relaxed and you just want to have some fun jamming out to a band. This week’s band could be that band for you! It has been said many, many times on this podcast that the wonderful thing about music is it is your opinion on what you like and there really isn’t anyone or anything that can take that away from you. If a band reminds you of a certain time in your life, so be it! If a band just puts a smile on your face while listening to them, then again so be it! Just stick with what you love but do not be closed off to other options because that is when you could be truly missing out on something. We appreciate all of you that tune in to this podcast whether it is the first episode you have listened to or if you tune in each and every Monday. Just know it is greatly appreciated.
