From the Co-Creator of Venom - Mailbag #9 | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: Unknown

It's the end of June so it's time for another Mailbag episode. Kriss and Dpalm go through listener emails, hot topics and discuss their Pull-List for the month. This was a fun episode. We talk the changes at WB & DC and we have a real good conversation about what WB might need to do to turn their movies around (Hint: One-off movies isn't a bad idea), Brie Larson is a bad ass (That's My Captain Marvel) and Todd McFarlane is apparently desperate for Sony to distribute his Spawn movie.  Note, this was recorded before the DC Universe announcement. While DC Universe does seem to be bringing some good things (Titans, Young Justice Outsiders, etc) and will have some comics...it still doesn't seem to be bringing a DC Unlimited feature unfortunately. You can look at the announcement here. http://directory.libsyn.com/episode/index/id/6757281 Topics: * Emails * Our favorite Dan Slott Spider-Man stories * Do we think Emma Frost will ever be brought to the big screen again? * Remember Geoff Johns worked on the first Green Lantern movie * News * DC Comics shake up: http://www.comicsbeat.com/geoff-johns-out-as-dc-cco-jim-lee-in-but-here-comes-the-killing-zone-pop-up/ * Geoff Johns new comics: https://www.cbr.com/geoff-johns-green-lantern-corps-film-shazam-comic/ * WB decides the best business plan is to make good movies: http://www.slashfilm.com/future-dceu-films/ * Captain Marvel to be scored by Pinar Toprak, first female composer for MCU: https://variety.com/2018/film/news/captain-marvel-composer-score-pinar-toprak-1202847649/ * That's My Captain Marvel - Brie Larson calls for more critics of color: https://variety.com/2018/scene/news/brie-larson-minority-film-critics-1202845853/amp/ * Topic of the Show: * Would DCEU be better if Christian Bale stayed on as Batman? * "From the Co-Creator of Venom..." - Todd McFarlane is either crazy or a crazy genius *   * Pull-List (Not the complete list) * DC * Flash #48 - FLASH WAR! * Green Arrow Vol 4 * Batman #48 & #49 *   * Marvel * Amazing Spider-Man #801 * Thor #1 & #2 * Tony Stark: Iron Man #1 * X-Men Gold #30 * Darth Vader #17 * Other * Lost Light * Last Stand of the Wreckers * Sins of the Wreckers Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month.  Supergirl Season 3×23 Review They Stuck The Landing! | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 48:49

They stuck the landing!  We got amazing Black Fatherhood, a satisfying conclusion to the Mon-El/Kara romance, a happy ending for Ruby and Sam, the departure of Winn, and a completely changed landscape in the Supergirl Universe.  And they have seeded Red Daughter of Krypton for season 4!   We encourage everyone starting this show to go ahead and watch season 1.  Although it's a struggle, we think it's important to see how the show has grown better with each season. http://directory.libsyn.com/episode/index/id/6733213   Like what you hear?  Luke Cage Season 2 Review | Bigger and Better than Season 1 | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 37:27

Luke Cage Season 2 is bigger, more emotionally dark and better than Season 1. Season 2 really feels like it takes all the issues with the first season and addresses them to make this more of a black family crime drama than super hero show. And that's a good thing. A lot of things work for this season: * A villain that challenges Luke both physically and mentally * The Family First theme of the season * Alfre Woodard's transformation with Mariah * The comic book teamups (Daughters of the Dragon, Powerman and Iron Fist) * The way the music is integrated into season and is important to understanding the themes and scenes * Not making Luke the central piece but leaving his character in a really interesting place * and more Check out Kriss' video review as well as the audio review with Kriss & Phenom. We'll be back later with more in depth discussions of this season after it drops on the 22nd of June. https://oembed.libsyn.com/embed?item_id=6707068 Like what you hear?  Supergirl Season 3×22 Review – THEY KILLED DEMOS! | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 38:48

THEY KILLED DEMOS!  YOU BASTARDS! The Doctor is furious that they killed one of our two favorite agents.  It's a great and action packed episode but did they have to kill our boy?  We watch as Papa J'onzz transfers his life experiences to J'onn in preparation for his passing, Alura arrives on Earth, and that dummy Coleville helps the Dark Priestesses resurrect Reign.  The finale promises to be heartbreaking.  Killing a major side character hit hard, and we get a feeling not everyone is going to make it out of the finale alive.  The only drawback-this was a great opportunity to give Reign a truly iconic look in her rebirth.  They didn't take it, but it definitely doesn't take away from the story. http://directory.libsyn.com/episode/index/id/6703918   Like what you hear?  Cloak & Dagger Season 1×01 and 1×02 Review The Crazy White Girl and The Altar Boy – Super Tuesday Recap | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 1:31:49

What happens when the crazy white girl and the altar boy meet? Sparks ignite ... literally. Shanna, The Doctor and Parrish discuss the two-hour premiere of Marvel's Cloak & Dagger as well as everything from police brutality, The Talk and how this version of Ty and Tandy differs from their comic counterparts. We can't wait to see what happens on this season of Cloak & Dagger and if these heroes will go from damaged teens to whole and healthy crime-fighters. http://directory.libsyn.com/episode/index/id/6696845   Like what you hear?  Supergirl Season 3×21 Review: Gaslight District- Super Tuesday Recap | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 33:43

In another spectacular episode, we get the gun episode Arrow wish it would have done, J'onn preparing to say goodbye to his father, and the Dark Priestesses and their crew gaslighting Kara on her new home world.  We discuss the need for killing that is sometimes necessary, Mon El coming clean about his reason for staying, and guess at potential season deaths.  Lena is always prepared, and we wonder if that is going to be our lead in to season 4 because she could become the Big Bad, but, let's be honest, is she really wrong?  http://directory.libsyn.com/episode/index/id/6688127   Like what you hear?  Supergirl Season 3×19 and 20 Review Black Superheroes Matter | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 33:49

In two powerful episodes that keep up the fantastic pacing this season, we have a well handled Black Lives Matter episode when James is revealed to be Guardian to the cult headed by guest star Chad Lowe.  We got some delicious shade from Lena towards Supergirl, who was acting in typical 53% fashion expecting folks to forgive and forget on her terms.  We also got an episode that reveals not only is Kara's mom still alive, many other Kryptonians including the Dark Kryptonian that was guiding Reign is on Argo City, an experimental enclave designed by Kara's father as a last ditch attempt to save some of this planet.    The planet contains an element that they believe can rewrite Sam's DNA so that Reign is completely obliterated, but her people have become isolationists and want no part of Earth's issues.  The show just continues to get better and better and it's exciting to see what the end of the season will bring.   http://directory.libsyn.com/episode/index/id/6656751   Like what you hear?  The Flash Season 4×23 We Are The Flash Review | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 44:35

It's no shock that this season of The Flash has been a bit of a disappointment and the finale was never going to change that. The main story in this episode leaves a lot to be desired but there was some good things. This entire season has done a good job of developing characters and setting them up for season 5. It's been clunky but still the development is there. It also seems like they've been doing a lot of setting up for Season 5 (From Dawn...I mean "Nora" to the mysterious writing Barry/Nora/Wells have all done). While it might not have saved this season, it's possible that Season 5 will be 100% on the right track because of this kind of setup. Also, we have to admit, this season with all of it's problems is still way better than last. We'll be recording our Mailbag episode next week so make sure you send in your emails: Mailbag@MTRNetwork.Net http://directory.libsyn.com/episode/index/id/6630018 Please take our Audience survey.  Agents of Shield Season 5x22 Review The End - Always Keep a Spare Fitz | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 33:49

The end of season 5 is here for Agents of Shield and it doesn't go the way we thought it would but it was still great. What makes Agents of Shield so good is the way they always punch us in the gut. The inter-team relationships and conflicts always pay off. And that's on top of the super hero fight we get between Daisy and Graviton. While the show is coming back for Season 6, this season ends in a way that could have been a series finale. Coulson and May end up on a beach in Tahiti waiting out Coulson's last days while the rest of the team goes to find the Fitz that's sitting in stasis in space (Always keep a spare Fitz). This is just such a great show http://directory.libsyn.com/episode/index/id/6614881 Please take our Audience survey.  Arrow Season 6×23 Review – Star City Doesn’t Deserve Oliver Queen | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 38:46

Season 6 comes to a close with Oliver sacrificing his freedom to save a team and a city that doesn't deserve him. Seriously, Agent Watson is the worst. How is it that Oliver does all the hard work but you still need to put him in jail? We're hoping this is a larger plot for the next season to get Oliver to root out corruption elsewhere. But overall, we enjoyed this finale. We got a good send off for Paul Blackthorne and Diaz is still around so we should get more of Kirk Acevedo in Season 7. http://directory.libsyn.com/episode/index/id/6614445 Please take our Audience survey.
