This week we explore the double standard that is associated with holidays like Valentines Day. There are pretty much double standards across the board but when it comes to this particular holiday, we tend to see the balance get even more out of whack. Traditionally in western culture the man in the relationship shoulders the load and is really under more pressure because there are more ways to fail than to succeed. As time has gone along the playing field has become somewhat more level but that is more the exception than than rule Thanks for listening!

You mad? Does that mean I can’t get none? The most notable place sex has been weaponized is in an interrelationship argument. When someone is mad (usually women) one place that tends to get used against the other side is the act of holding out. In theory, a punishment to get a desired behavior but who is really being punished if you have great sessions all the time? In another sense, sex can be weaponized to manipulate behavior usually for “selfish” reasons. People who use sex like this have needs t or goals hat need to be met and if sex can help achieve those goals then it’s definelty coming out the tool bag. The emotion that is attached to the act and the intent of sex can be enough to motivate a person to act in irrational and in some cases even dangerous. We explore all this and more on this week's episode of Bar Talk with Jay! Thanks for listening!

Can you resist it? That natural impulse that takes your time, money or energy? Checking social media when you wake up, that candy at the checkout line, or that person who always seems to change your mood or focus, all of these are examples of decisions made with impulse. How do we get to that point? Is it nature or learned behavior? More than likely, it will be a bit of both. Not all impulses are negative. Because of what you learned over time you may develop impulses that protect you and your loved ones from harm. You may make impulsive decisions because you love someone and want their affection. Getting them flowers or their favorite snack goes a long way with someone when it shows you care. Is in your nature to treat a person like that or does that person create an impulse to enact the behavior? We discuss this and more this week on Bar Talk With Jay. Thanks for listening!

We all have and this week we discuss how to deal with these types and keep playing the game the right way.
