 Episode 11: Beth McCord (part 1) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 56:00

Happy Tuesday everybody! Welcome to Episode 11 of chatologie with Angie Elkins. My guest today is Enneagram expert and coach, Beth McCord. If you’ve been listening to chatologie, you’ve heard me mention the Enneagram more than a few times. The enneagram is an ancient personality typing system that has helped me understand myself and the way others perceive me in a way I’ve never been able to do before. But let me tell you why that’s important…because when I see my weakness, I’m able to turn to the gospel for the solution. All the weaknesses we find in ourselves are resolved in Jesus. That’s one of the things I love about the way Beth teaches the Enneagram, it’s not just looking inward, but she reminds us how important it is to turn to Jesus when we see our own shortcomings. Now, before we go any further, I’ve got a surprise for you today! because my conversation with Beth ran a little longer than our normal episodes, I’ve decided to divide it into 2 episodes. But you don’t have to wait until next week to hear part 2. If you subscribe to chatologie, it’s already waiting in your inbox as soon as you finish episode 11. So this week you get 2 episodes of chatologie! I hope you enjoy it. If you haven’t taken the time to subscribe on iTunes or Stitcher, do that now. It guarantees you’ll get all chatologie episodes automatically downloaded into your podcast feed. Beth McCord is a wife and mom living in Nashville, TN. For over 15 years, Beth has been speaking, coaching and teaching courses on the enneagram. And you can visit her website at yourenneagramcoach.com to take a free assessment. She’s also got lots of resources there for you to check out, and I highly encourage you to do that. Beth is a 9 on the Enneagram with an 8 wing, and if you don’t know what that means, you will very soon. I feel like I should tell you up front that I’m pretty sure I’m an 8…just in case you wonder as you’re listening. As you listen to these episodes, I hope you will come to recognize yourself in the personality descriptions, I hope you’ll begin to see how this info can really help improve all the relationships in your lives, but most of all- I hope you will feel reassured that whatever your core weakness, Jesus is the answer. this is not just another podcast about our personalities, Beth does a fantastic job of sharing the truth of the gospel while balancing the talk about us. So I’m thrilled you are listening today and really excited. So here we go…

I have just read it and I had the best conversation with Teri Lynne about it. But, if you’re not a girl mom, please stay tuned, because most of our conversation today revolves around Teri Lynne’s story. Did you know she was a public speaking major in college? That’s pretty cool right? She has such great insight as to how that has really prepared her for life in vocational ministry and as a pastor’s wife. And guys, our conversation about being a pastor’s wife is so good…don’t miss that! We also talk about some really dark days in her life as well and how God used her own father to be the light that pulled her out of that darkness. It’s so good, and so inspiring. You are absolutely gonna love it. So, here’s my conversation with Teri Lynne… All of Teri Lynne’s favorite things plus other things we mention in the show: * The Road Back to You (book about the Enneagram) by Suzanne Stabile and Ian Cron * Video of Teri Lynne’s testimony that I watched prior to this interview * Essential Oils * Evy’s Tree Hoodies * the Minor Prophets * Angie’s favorite pens: Stabilo Pens * Teri Lynne’s favorite pens: Optimus Fine Point Pen Sponsor Chatologie I thought I’d take a minute to let you know that YOU can actually sponsor chatologie. If your business is online, this is a great way to reach 1000’s of new customers and the cost is less than $100 per episode. The cost of sponsorship is determined by how many downloads are received per episode, and this price will definitely go up as chatologie grows, so now is the best time to get in on it! If you are interested in being a sponsor, just message me on Instagram, Facebook or email me here.
