Softy and Dick Fain are broadcasting from Buckley's on Queen Anne before tonight's exhibition game between the Warriors and the Kings. No, it isn't the same as having the Sonics back but it's still good to have some sort of NBA basketball back in Seattle. Maybe this will help bring back a team, and maybe it won't make a difference, but ultimately tonight's for the Sonics fans. It's a night to show our support for the NBA in this city after a decade without a team. What are your thoughts? We take listener calls with opinions on the game and the NBA. Tim Leiweke of the Oak View Group joins us to talk about the exhibition game, the future of the NBA here, and the NHL training facility.

Softy and Dick H2 - Fact or Fiction / Fun with Audio / Marques Johnson remembers the Sonics / Donald Watts on NBA past and present | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2474

Softy and Dick H3 - Stars need to be stars / Bob Rondeau on all things Dawgs / Seahawks & Rams aren't top 5 / Spencer Hawes / Sue Bird | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3068

We're getting closer. Softy and Dick Fain continue from Buckley's ahead of tonight's NBA exhibition game. With all the NBA talk, it's worth remembering that there is in fact a Seahawks game on Sunday. There's absolutely no question that it's going to be a tough game, but if they somehow manage to win, there's a reasonable chance they could still win the division. If they lose, their best chance is the wild card. If the Hawks are going to win on Saturday, the team's stars are going to need to be stars. Bob Rondeau, longtime voice of the Huskies joins Softy and Dick every Friday at 5:20 to talk all things Husky football. Looking at the top 5 NFL games for the weekend, the Seahawks and Rams aren't on the list. A couple of years ago it would be unimaginable that it could even be possible. Spencer Hawes will be on the call with Dick Fain tonight. He talks about the exhibition game coming to Seattle. The WNBA Champion Seattle Storm's Sue Bird talks about the importance of NBA basketball in Seattle.

Softy and Dick H1 - This is what Husky football is about / Dick and Dave in the Locker Room with Tevis Bartlett and JR Sweezy / Lee Sterling | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2264

No one believes Sunday's game against the Rams is going to be easy, but if they can keep it close all four quarters, and the defense without Earl can keep the Rams to under 25 points, they'll have a shot. This is a chance for Frank Clark to prove he deserves a big contract. The Husky defense has definitely proven itself. It seems Jimmy Lake has basically said"If you aren't good enough to play on Sunday, you aren't getting a scholarship here." The Dawgs have gone 49 games without giving up 35 points, the most consecutive games in the Pac-12 by 40. This is what UW football is all about. Dick and Dave are in the locker room talking with Tevis Bartlett and J.R. Sweezy. Paramount Sports handicapper Lee Sterling has your NFL and college picks for the weekend.

Softy and Dick H1 - M's need to develop players / Re-sign Cruz? / Mike Solari / In the Locker Room with T.J. Green and Nick Harris | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2323

The M's' season is over, and the team managed to win 89 games, but still missed the MLB playoffs yet again. It's been 17 years since the team's last playoff appearance, meaning there are kids in high school right now who are old enough to drive, who weren't even alive the last time the team made it that far. There's a lot that has gone wrong, but one thing, plain and simple, is that the M's need to scout, draft, and develop better. So what's the plan for the team at this point? Do we spend the money to re-sign Nelson Cruz? Offensive line coach Mike Solari joins us live to discuss all things related to the O-Line, including how they expect to battle the Rams on Sunday. Softy and Dick split up duties and get interviews with the city's top athletes. Today, it's Dick and Dave in the Locker Room with T.J. Green, now with teh Hawks, and the Dawgs' Nick Harris.

Softy and Dick H2: From the VMAC - Fact or Fiction / It's about Sonics fans / Petros Papadakis on the Pac-12 / Textimonials | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2487

Dick Fain and Softy continue live from the VMAC in Renton. Softy has resisted taking the Dawgs in his Fact or Fiction picks, but the line is low enough that they shouldn't have any problem covering. So many negative reactions regarding Friday's exhibition game at The Key, but this is the first opportunity we've had since the Sonics left to get 17,000 fans together to cheer loudly to get a team, and the league back here. This isn't about the Warriors, or the Kings, this is about Sonics fans getting a voice. Petros Papadakis talks about the Dawgs win over BYU, the transcendence of Herbert at Oregon, and what LA is saying ahead of Sunday's Seahawks game. Textimonials way in on the NBA and more.

Softy and Dick H3 - From the VMAC / Rick Neuheisel talks Dawgs vs UCLA / Kevin Harlan on everything NFL / Keys to victory / Anthony Beyrouti | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2853

Softy and Dick continue live from the VMAC in Renton. Rick Neuheisel tells us if there is any way the UCLA Bruins can possibly defeat the Dawgs at the Rose Bowl on Saturday. Kevin Harlan talks all things NFL. The Chiefs are riding the magic carpet with their surprisingly-effective quarterback, but will it last? With Earl Thomas and other NFL players becoming increasingly concerned about being taken care of, how will teams respond moving forward? Are the Rams the best team in the league right now. Softy and Dick discuss the keys to a Seahawks victory on Sunday. It isn't going to be easy, but of course anything is possible. Anthony Beyrouti of Venue Kings says he still has tickets available to Friday's exhibition game at Key Arena.

It's Dick's turn to play today on Fact or Fiction, and he's not a believer in Nortre Dame. Russell Wilson has only missed one snap in his NFL playing career, but Softy is worried about this game against the Rams. They had 35 QB pressures last week against Minnesota, and in their last four meetings with Seattle, have had 24 sacks and 58 quarterback hits. What are your expectations for this game? The San Jose Mercury News' Jon Wilner joins the show to talk about the Huskies' strengthening offense, the explosion of Salvon Ahmed, and everything Pac-12 football. Textimonials with tons of Husky and Hawk reaction.

The NHL Executive Committee has recommended the league expand into Seattle. It still needs to be approved by the Board of Governors in December, but we are one step closer to getting an NHL franchise in Seattle. Tod Leiweke joins us on a special edition of Tuesdays with Tod to tell us what's next in the process to bring a team here. Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk says a trade for Earl Thomas was likely before his injury in Arizona crushed the whole deal. Walter Jones shares his thoughts on the latest on ET, what players mean when they talk about security, and how the Hawks' O-Line can prepare for the Rams on Sunday. Brian Schmetzer, coach of the Sounders talks about the team's bounce back, the return of Victor Rodriguez, and more.

Softy and Dick H1: From the EQC - Pete Carroll press conference / This is a disaster! / Opponent Audio Recap: Cardinals | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2650

Softy and Dick Fain are live at the Emerald Queen Casino before tonight's Monday Night Football game between the Broncos and the Chiefs. Pete Carroll holds his weekly press conference, answering questions about injuries, Earl Thomas, and more. Earl is injured, likely done for the season and done as a Seahawk. Maybe worst of all for the Hawks, he's got no trade value at this point. This is a disaster for everyone involved. Seahawks won, so we compile the highlights from the Cardinals broadcast for your enjoyment on Opponent Audio Recap.

Softy and Dick H2: From the EQC -Fact or Fiction / Predominant emotion / Joel Klatt on college football / Textimonials /Smashing success | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2771

Softy and Dick fain continue live from the Emerald Queen Casino. We did pretty well on Fact or Fiction last week, and we're hoping to continue that trend with our pick in the Colorado vs Arizona State game this weekend. Speaking of football, Joel Klatt joins us to break down the Dawgs' win over BYU. He also explains why he wants to get rid of the AP Poll, and he's got a prediction for the Pac-12 South. Textimonials pour in in the wake of the likely end to the Earl Thomas saga. It's important to remember, despite how this ended, and despite how things ended with Sherman, no matter what the talking heads of sports say, this was still a smashing success.

Softy and Dick H1 - Seahawks WR Brandon Marshall / Hawk confidence: More or less? / Branden Jackson on making the 53-man roster | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2422

Tonight Dick Fain calls the Eastside Catholic vs. Garfield game live on 950 KJR, and he'll be joined by Seahawks wide receiver Brandon Marshall who is making his debut behind the mic. He talks with us about why he's hoping to get involved with high school play-by-play. How confident are you in the Seahawks, and has that changed much since the start of the season? Brandeon Jackson talks about getting promoted from the practice squad to the 53-man roster, and what his role will be this weekend.

Softy and Dick H2 - Fact or Fiction / Jared Goff for Russell Wilson? / Fun with Audio / Textimonials | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2437

It's a Pac-12 pick in today's Fact or Fiction: Colorado vs. UCLA and Softy says an implosion is coming. The Rams look incredible right now and Jared Goff is living up to the hype, but is he that good or is it just the system he's in. Would you trade Russell Wilson for Jared Goff right now? Jerry Jones says the Cowboys could be as good as the Rams, Mike Leach discusses bad dates and pancakes, and a Vikings fan has a total meltdown on Fun with Audio. Textimonials react to the first hour of the show.
