Episode 173: Anytone AT-D878UV Dual Band DMR HT with APRS | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1377

Brand new from Anytone is the new AT-D878UV Dual Band DMR HT with APRS. This is the first radio to ever come out of China with true APRS instead of just a GPS option that does nothing more than tell you what your current position is. The APRS menu in this radio is much more usable for Amateur Radio situations.Anytone is one of my favorite DMR radios, with the previous model of the AT-D868UV being their first dual band model. I plan to do a few more episodes on this radio, once I have given it a fair time to use in the real world.Purchase the Anytone AT-D878UV DMR Radio HereBe sure to subscribe for more Ham Radio video: https://goo.gl/6hjh2JIf you want to support me, follow my Patreon link: https://goo.gl/FkESU6Be sure to support my sponsors, who make this series possible:https://gifts4hams.comhttps://houstonhamfest.orghttps://www.randl.com

The DXMini hotspot – both a simplex model and a full duplex model, that allows 2-timeslots to operate on DMR – review and setup. This is another great, very well-made and constructed, hotspot for multi-mode digital voice on the various networks for Amateur Radio. These hotspots have a very solid, laser-cut metal case, and come with all the pieces needed to get on the air.  Bringing Net44 and IPV6 to your Ham Radio Station via VPN | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2837

John Hays, K7VE, presents this forum at the 2018 TAPR Digital Communications Conference for bringing Net 44 and IPV6 to your Ham Radio Station via VPN.I had never heard of Net 44 prior to this forum and I am glad I got to learn about it. What a neat feature of Ham Radio to have our own subnet of IP addresses that we can use for whatever we want. If you have been looking for a static IP, or IPV6 network, for your Amateur Radio station, this talk should interest you.Net 44 Groups List: https://groups.io/g/net-44-vpnBe sure to subscribe for more Ham Radio video: https://goo.gl/6hjh2JCheckout my website: https://livefromthehamshack.tvIf you want to support me, follow my Patreon link: https://goo.gl/FkESU6

Pearl Harbor Tribute from the USS Batfish - WW2SUB | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2402

I was privileged to be invited to the Pearl Harbor Tribute event this year on December 7 for Pearl Harbor Day. We operated HF on 20-meters and 40-meters and had some student operators who were able to get on the band and make some good contacts.I was able to work some HF myself also, which was quite fun. I was reminded of working DX in Costa Rica on a few trips I have taken to that country, and also realized how much I miss being on the HF bands.A special thanks to Jerry and Paul for allowing me to record this event, it was a great tribute to fallen naval personnel during WWII on various submarines.Be sure to subscribe for more Ham Radio video: https://goo.gl/6hjh2JCheckout my website: https://livefromthehamshack.tvIf you want to support me, follow my Patreon link: https://goo.gl/FkESU6
