A pilot of a mail plane has a problem and finds his path has crossed with Margot Lane and Lamont Cranston. What wierd things are going on in the hills? An indian tribe holds certain superstitions about the happenings. Through mental telepathy the indians send the Shadow a message to come and help. Bandits are on the loose, and Lamont tries to get government authorities to believe him. Not even the governor believes him, and refuses to help. It takes the Shadow to sneak in to take care of business. The weed of crime bears bitter fruit, and the Shadow knows how to make things right.

At a circus side show, wax figures are on display. The figures are posed in a scene of a recent famous mobster coming to justice, but imagine the shock of the crowd to discover a dead body among the statues. As Margot Lane talks about the odd event with Lamont Cranston, he suspects this may only be the beginning of a murder spree. The buzz at the police station is that this may be the work of a lunatic, a love related killing, or maybe a gang related incident. Of course the Shadow has something to say about it, but will the cops listen to him? Another body shows up at the wax works, and Shadow has a line on who the next victim will be, but he still doesn’t know who the killer is. The cops guard the expected victim, Margot Lane does her part in helping the Shadow, and the Shadow puts the pressure on his suspected killer. The There’s just one problem, the man with the most motive is in prison though. How can a prisoner be killing people while he’s locked up? The Shadow knows, and a trap is set to break up the bigger conspiracy at large.

Munitions for a band of revolutionaries are being smuggled on a luxury steamer. When orders are received that the munitions are no longer needed and are to be destroyed, one of the conspirators balks and is killed by his accomplices. Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows. Lamont Cranston, lawyer by day, but known to the underworld as the Shadow, fights crime with the aid of his lovely secretary and assistant, Margot Lane. Today, the shipping business is in turmoil when ships are mysteriously disappearing. The Navy has no answers, but the Shadow offers his help, and believes the whole mystery revolves around one person. Lamont and Margot take a ride on a Navy cruiser, and sea plane in search of the ship’s graveyard. Things look bad when the plane has to crashland. What is the secret that has been pulling ships, and sea planes to their destruction? Besides surviving crashes, the Shadow has to face native canibals, volcanoes, wierd religious sacrifices, and a local figure known as the White God. Can the Shadow poke holes in the native superstitions? How will he expose the White God for the crazy charlatan that he is? The first thing to do is identify what’s going on, but it may be another to sabotage the scheme, and bring justice to bear.

A trio of gangsters get together to discuss a few of their dirty deeds. In particular a matter of bvlackmail. A twist to their scheme is that their target has been paying for incriminating letters that have been burned in a fire, and no longer have a real hold over him. One of the gangsters is a reformed man who is now working as a private detective. To get back at his partner in crime, Miss Sheldon, he runs his own racket with Mr Ralston regarding those embarrassing letters. Will Steve’s set up work? Details in his tightly woven plan begin to unravel on him. Has Ralston had enough, and killed Miss Sheldon, and put the blame on Steve? Will Steve be able to use the threat of those letters to win an alibi for himself? Get ready for a twist ending as revelations explode to the surface. Can Steve get past the evidence the cops have against him? His ace in the hole may have fell through for him.

He is surprised to find Theda, and a Gomez who has just died of his wounmds… or has he been poisoned? Back in the news room Bill is on a crusade to bring justice down on the woman. The trouble is that nobody can seem to describe the woman on the scene. Was she a blonde, a brunette, the only constant is that she is beautiful Facing down Theda, Bill grills her over being a killer. Claiming her innocence in such things, she mysteriously vanishes. Who is this strange woman who leaves a wwake of death in her footsteps? Why does Bill get the feeling he has seen her some place before? Secrets are about to explode to the surface for Bill. Following up on some leads, Lamonte Cranston knows where the White Legion meets, and his plan isn’t only to rescue the latest victim, but to wipe out the vigilante group. The legion is wide spread, and the Shadow has his hands full to get his job done. Still, he has a few tricks up his sleeve to put the bad guys on the spot.

Superstitious omens foretell the tragedy of death. A mysterious explosion has killed the reverend Colby, and ten others. Lamonte Cranston is on the scene with Margot Lane to investigate a wierd religious cult. The skeptical Lamonte thinks the deaths are more founded in a murder plot than in random superstition. There’s plenty to spark fear with all the creaky doors, foghorn, and creepy characters as lamonte arrives on the dark foggy night. The Shadow gets busy in confronting the cult leader. When Margot Lane is missing, has the prophet done something to her? Has the Shadow met a match for his mystic powers to cloud mens minds? Elsewhere, a woman is being prepared by the cult members for a sacrificial ceremony. The entry ways are all guarded by panthers, but still the Shadow manages to get through to confront the prophet and stop the ceremony. Will it help? Will the ceremony go on without the prophet? The Shadow has a plan to expose the murderous intent, but he needs a little help from Margot to spring a trap. There stands to be an explosive, dangerous scene, and the Shadow has his work cut out to prove his powers are stronger than the brainwashing of the bogus prophet.

As George storms out for a walk in the misty night, a scream breaks through the foggy air, but what horrible meaning might it hold? The evidence is looking bad for George when Priscilla is found dead. What should he do? Can he find that man who was out walking his dog in the fog? Can George get anybody to believe him? There might be a chance, if he can find that stranger, but the odds seem stacked against him. All that’s left is the suspenseful twist ending. The Shadow uses his ability to cloud men’s minds to extract information. Enemies of the bridge contracted are discovered, but there’s still work to do to expose them. Will the mind power of the Shadow rise to the challenge of the legendary voice? Schrievie may have disturbing news for Margot Lane at the end of the day. Say it ain’t so! Has he discovered a formula to guarantee success in art? Elsewhere, Lamonte Cranston and Margot Lane meet a friend of their cabbie, Schrievie. It’s John, the artist who was just given the formula to success. In the art gallery, the statues are impressive and lifelike. The sculptures intrigue Lamonte, and it could be a thing for the Shadow to investigate closer. Using his power to cloud men’s minds, the Shadow sets the stage to his benefit. Evidence points to unlocking the secret of a rash of missing persons. Can the Shadow put an end to the unnatural secret that creates the artwork,? Margot may need to spring into the picture to get Lamont out of danger.

The story of a successful bank robbery, and the man who pulled it off. Jack Benny plays Tom Jones, a man who never forgets a face. He goes into flashback to tell about a particular face he saw in the train station. Harry Edmond is a man who lived in Jack’s old neighborhood, but he’s the kind of gangster type who doesn’t want to be remembered. Seeing he can’t shake the well meaning Tom, Harry and his shady friend decide to set him up in the crime they have in store. A visit to Harry’s boss is arranged, and the boss is impressed with Tom’s forgetable face, the way he is an unnoticeable kind of guy. All he has to do is carry a satchel, hand the bank teller a note, and take the bag full of loot back to the boss. Tom has always felt neglected at the way people never notice him, and enjoys the newfound attention he’s getting. The lines in the bank move slowly, but finally the talkative Tom makes it to the front. Why is Tom’s new friends ditching him at the bank to fall into the hands of the cops? As the police question the very tellers and people in the bank who Tom visited, nobody recognizes him. He does his best to have them remember him, but it isn’t until now that he realizes what he has done. Has he found a new profession that he can succeed in? Nah, he is too nice of a guy to consider it for more than a passing thought.

A gangster on death row who is known for wearing his lucky carnation, asks for the favor of wearing one as he’s marched to the death house. He claims the flower has always brought him luck, and was only without one on the day he was arrested, then on the day he was sentenced. What does he hope for in wearing it now? Elsewhere, as they drive across town Margot Lane asks Lamonte Cranston to stop and let her pick up an orchid. Instead they find a dead florist. Reporters pick up on Charlie’s list of people he threatened to get even with. Can it really be him behind the killing? Who’s next on the list? Can the next victim be kept safe? Charlie seems to have returned from the grave. How can even the toughest gangster defend himself from a ghost? Rats and traitors in the gang soon turn on each other. The Shadow sets out to expose the secret of the gangster who returned from the grave. Putting pressure on the wife of Slim Bannister, the Shadow learns how a switch could explain it all. Justice is soon done as the mystery unravels at the hand of the Shadow.

Eddie’s stuff, Eddie’s piano, but it all belongs to Ernest now. Murder is involved, and spooky things begin to happen. Has Eddie come back to haunt his killers? If the partners in crime decide to part ways, will it appease Eddie? Will it leave Ernest holding the bag with either Eddie, or the law? In monolog, Ernest recounts details of the plot to kill Eddie. Tempers flare, and nerves jangle, as the two gangsters try to split the loot. Who will get the lion’s share? Who is the brains of the outfit? Nobody really believes the spirit of Eddie is in the room… that’s silly… because if he was, he would probably want to get some revenge. But if Eddie’s ghost isn’t here, then what made that noise, and that gust of cool air, and who is playing that music?
