Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd and Tony Glover to look back at Chelsea's 2-1 win against Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday. On the show tonight we’ll be asking with Eden Hazard showing such great form, is he irreplaceable and will playing him in the false 9 role and the lack of protection he gets from referees lead to him leaving Chelsea? In part two we ask why does Chelsea fail to kill teams off. Should an out of form Alonso get a rest in favour of Emerson? Why was Bruce Buck talking to Chelsea supporters outside the AMEX stadium and what are Chelsea’s prospects for a top 4 finish. Plus we have a look Malmo FF, Chelsea’s opponents in the Europa League. In part three we preview Chelsea’s Carabao Cup quarter final against Bournemouth on Wednesday and the Premier League match against Leicester on Saturday; plus a couple of great emails for Jonathan to read out with questions for us to answer. In part four we have a few more emails for Jonathan to read out plus the usual round up of worthy Chelsea causes.  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Chelsea FanCast on Love Sport Radio 14/12/18 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:31:47

Chelsea FanCast on Love Sport Radio - the only 100% Chelsea show on the radio! Stamford Chidge, Clayton Beerman and Jonathan Kydd join Aaron Paul to look back at the 2-2 draw with Mol Vidi in Hungary, last week's superb 2-0 win against Man City and look ahead to this weekend's match against Brighton & Hove Albion. In a somewhat meaningless 2-2 draw against Mol Vidi, at least some of the youth got a run out, but why were Chelsea going through the motions? And with Morata going off injured, will it hamper a potential transfer and will we need a replacement? We also discuss the fall out from the anti-Semitic chant heard during the match and where Chelsea and the supporters go from here. Looking at the fantastic 2-0 win against Man City, something which none of us expected we ask do the players just raise their game for a big match and why can’t they bring this mentality, energy, determination and commitment every week? With such a massive statement by Chelsea, is this a vindication for Sarri and proof that he does have a Plan B? And with a superb atmosphere, it was a timely reminder of what football is about; suffering the lows to enjoy the highs. With Chelsea facing Brighton in Sussex-by-the Sea on Sunday, we beat them 4-0 last time out, but Brighton may not be push overs this season. We ponder what will Sarri’s starting XI be and will he go for Giroud up front or Hazard? Ady Packham from Albion Roar joins us on the phone for the 'Opposition View' and discusses Chris Hughton's management; Glen Murray's goal scoring; Brighton's impressive home form and which players will cause Chelsea problems. To wrap up we reveal the answers to this week's quiz - name the Chelsea players who have double barreled or hyphenated surnames. And finally, we reveal our predictions for the match. Plus, of course your calls to the show. Chelsea Fancast is broadcast on Love Sport Radio every Friday from 7.00-9.00 pm. Chelsea FanCast on Love Sport Radio - the only 100% Chelsea show on the radio! Stamford Chidge and Jonathan Kydd join Aaron Paul to look back at the 2-1 defeat to Wolves, the 2-0 win against Fulham last weekend and look forward to Chelsea v Man City on Sunday. ESPN's Chelsea correspondent Liam Twomey joins us on the phone to report on Friday's Chelsea press conference. With City visiting this weekend, has Sarri raised the white flag? What is it about Blackouts, mentality and leadership and why Alonso and not Emerson. While the 2-1 defeat to Wolves was beyond disappointing, Chelsea actually played quite well and had they put away the chances they had it would have been a different result. But, the lack of cohesion after Wolves scored is clearly very worrying. The same could be said about the Fulham match where had it not been for Loftus Cheek scoring after coming on as a sub, we may have seen a similar result as we did at Molineaux. Ryan Dellinger from North Carolina, USA, joins us in the studio to talk about supporting Chelsea from across the pond. Ryan has been listening to the Chelsea FanCast since our very first show, over 10 years ago and brings an interesting perspective on what it is like supporting Chelsea from afar and what it means to get over here for a match, Looking ahead to Chelsea v Man City, we have Dave Walker from 'Read But Never Red', the Man City blog to tell us who Chelsea need to worry about, City's form where he sees the match going. To wrap up we reveal the answers to this week's quiz - who are the players who have played for both Chelsea and Man City. And finally, what are our predictions for the match. Chelsea Fancast is broadcast on Love Sport Radio every Friday from 7.00-9.00 pm.  'The Lion & the Pussycat' Chelsea FanCast #443 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:17:21

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd and Clayton Beerman to look back at Chelsea's 2-0 victory over Fulham on Saturday. On the show tonight we’ll be asking whether Ruben Loftus-Cheek is ready for the first team and why do Chelsea seem to be going backwards at the moment after a good start to the season and indeed to this game? And are both Alonso and Azpi culpable for the poor crosses and delivery at the moment. In part two we doff our cap to Kepa who is establishing himself as a very fine keeper; the next in a long line of decent Chelsea keepers. We ask is Hazard being overburdened and should we be more patient with Sarri and the players. And what is going on with the atmosphere, which at times was as turgid as the football yesterday. In part three we discuss what the prospects for Chelsea are against Wolves on Wednesday and against City on Saturday; plus a couple of great emails for Jonathan to read out with questions for us to answer. In part four we have a few more emails for Jonathan to read out plus the usual round up of worthy Chelsea causes.  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Chelsea FanCast on Love Sport Radio - the only 100% Chelsea show on the radio! Stamford Chidge and Jonathan Kydd join Aaron Paul to look back at the Europa Cup win against PAOK, last weekends defeat to Spurs and look forward to Chelsea v Fulham on Sunday. Fototball.London's Chelsea correspondent Oliver Harbord joins us on the phone to round up the Chelsea news including Sarri on Kante; concerns about Hazard and the rumour of Bayern Munich looking to sign Callum Hudson-Odoi. And talking of Hudson-Odoi, with his eye catching performance against PAOK has he staked a claim to first team football at Chelsea? Ruben Loftus-Cheek also put in a decent performance as Chelsea brushed a poor 10 man PAOK aside to finish top of the Group. We go through what the draw for the round of 32 to be held on 17th December will entail. Reflecting on the fall out from the defeat to Spurs, will there only be one winner in the Jorginho v Kante debate and will Sarri's stubbornness be his downfall Neighbours Fulham are the visitors to Stamford Bridge this weekend. Although they are in the relegation zone, under new manager, former Chelsea manager Claudio Ranieri, they have some good players and the new manager bounce could be a cause for concern for Chelsea. Can Fulham contain Hazard and Jorginho? Will Chelsea start the game with the right intensity? Should Giroud start ahead of Morata? To get the Fulham perspective, Emilio De Nello joins us from the Cottage podcast and discusses his Fulham's chances against Chelsea. To wrap up we discuss the reasons why there really isn't a bitter rivalry between the two clubs only a mile apart. Chidge reveals the answers to this week's quiz - who are the 31 players who have played for both Chelsea and Fulham. And finally, what are our predictions for Sunday's match. The Extra Mile will celebrate fans by acknowledging the lengths they go to follow their team. Every month, the competition will reward the most dedicated fans with club prizes including match tickets and club merchandise.  "Indefensible!" Chelsea FanCast #442 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:57:18

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Tony Glover and ESPN's Chelsea correspondent Liam Twomey to look back at a horrible defeat to Chelsea's London rivals Spurs. On the show tonight we’ll be revisiting the horror that played out at Wembley on Saturday. Was this the worst performance since Arsenal away in 2016? Were the defence or midfield the most culpable; if Sarri predicted this might happen why could he not do anything to counter it?   In part two we announce the new Hyundai ‘Extra Mile’ competition where every month, the most dedicated fans will be rewarded with club prizes including match tickets and club merchandise. And then we’ll continue with the fallout from the horrible defeat to Spurs. Is there a solution to the Jorginho v Kante debate? Will Sarri adapt to meet the challenges ahead and is this really a time to panic?   In part three we have loads of emails for Jonathan to read out from all over the world and in part four we announce the winner of a signed copy of Neil Smith’s “Where were you when we were shocking” book, plus more emails for Jonathan to read out.  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

'So Far, So Good' Chelsea FanCast #441 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:24:12

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Dan Silver and Clayton Beerman to reflect on Chelsea and Maurizio Sarri's start to the season, plus an interview with Neil Smith about his book 'The A to Z of Chelsea "Where Were You When We Were Shocking?' On the show tonight we’ll be pondering whether Chelsea and Sarri’s start to the season has been a case of ‘so far, so good’? Who has impressed and who hasn’t? What are the critical success factors to ensure a successful season? With Gary Cahill looking certain to leave in January will there be any other departures and arrivals and what would be the measure of success this season? In part two and three we have the full interview recorded with Neil ‘Smiffy’ Smith a couple of weeks ago about his book 'The A to Z of Chelsea "Where Were You When We Were Shocking?' Neil’s book covers his reminiscences of 23 Chelsea away games from 1974 to 1995, taken from his personal diaries, the days when Chelsea were often, indeed, shocking. Evocative and heartfelt, funny and honest; from defeat at Queens Park Rangers to defeat at Zaragosa, via Tottenham, York, Fulham, York, Everton, a 6-0 defeat at Rotherham and many more. He tells us what it was actually like to travel to away games 30-40 years ago when heavy police escorts were the norm, and real ingenuity was needed to get a pre-match pint. (You can buy Neil's book from Amazon or from the cfcuk stall) In part four, we have a couple of emails for Jonathan to read; we look at the 'Americanisation' of Football and give a tribute to Joe Cole who retired last week and we have our usual Chelsea Specials.  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Chelsea FanCast on Love Sport Radio - the only 100% Chelsea show on the radio! Stamford Chidge, Jonathan Kydd and Jake Watson are joined by very special guest Neil 'Spy' Barnett, former Chelsea TV presenter and stadium announcer, talking about his 30 years behind the scenes at Chelsea! Neil gives us his thoughts on Joe Cole after he announced his retirement from the game at the age of 37 plus the news that struggling Chelsea striker, Alvaro Morata, has been seeing a Psychologist in an attempt to turn his form around. For the second half of the show, we talk to 'Spy' about his 30 years behind the scenes at Chelsea, complete with some hilarious anecdotes; his relationship with Roman Abramovich, the players and the managers; how he became the on-pitch announcer and why he nearly got arrested for winding up opposition supporters and why it all came to an end. Former Chelsea player, Paul Canoville, a great friend of Neil's joins us on the phone to talk about the pitch presentations and their overseas tours together. Plus we have questions for 'Spy' from the listeners who phoned in. Chelsea Fancast is broadcast on Love Sport Radio every Friday from 7.00-9.00 pm.  "Sussed" Chelsea FanCast #440 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:53:12

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Mark Worrall and Alex Churchill to look back at an attritional 0-0 draw with Everton on Sunday. On the show tonight we’ll be pondering whether Chelsea has been sussed and will the opposition use Everton’s performance as a blueprint to stifle Chelsea? In part two we address the lack of a quality striker again; bemoan the incompetence of Premier League referees; ask whether it should be the supporters who lift the team or the team who should lift the supporters after Luiz’s exhortations to the Matthew Harding lower and with Chelsea seemingly way behind a rampant Man City we ask how will Sarri manage expectations this season. In part three, we have two superb emails for Jonathan to read out and for us to answer. In part four, our Chelsea Specials include a chat with Marco about the cfcuk 200th edition party and book fair and Alex about how Chelsea helped her commemorate Remembrance Day plus a roundup of the usual shout outs.  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Chelsea FanCast on Love Sport Radio 09/11/18 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:50:35

Chelsea FanCast on Love Sport Radio - the only 100% Chelsea show on the radio! Stamford Chidge, Jonathan Kydd and Clayton Beerman are joined by Love Sport's Aaron Paul to have a look back at Chelsea's 1-0 victory over Bate Borisov in the Europa League and last week's 3-1 win against Crystal Palace as well as looking ahead to Chelsea v Everton this weekend. Rounding up the Chelsea news this week, we discuss why a European Super League will be a disaster for English football; Chelsea in the market for Callum Wilson for £35m in January; Ruben Loftus Cheek being recalled to the England squad and Chelsea legend Didier Drogba announcing his retirement. Looking back at the Europa League match against Bate Borisov, we ask was this Chelsea's worst performance of the season? With Bate hitting the woodwork 4 times, when will Chelsea’s luck run out? With Giroud scoring his first goal since May will this be the confidence boost he needs to find the onion bag more regularly? And with qualification secured and the job done, will Sarri look to rest players in the final group match? We have an interview with Neil 'Smiffy' Smith, author of "Where Were You When We Were Shocking", who's first Chelsea match was in 1966, since when he has been to over 2,000 matches. Neil gives us an insight in to what it was like following Chelsea in an era when we lost more than we won and reveals that thanks to the bond between the supporters, it was the pre and post match that more than made up for it. Re-visiting the win against Crystal Palace last weekend, we praise Morata, Jorginho and Sarri for the great team spirit he is building. To wrap up we take a look at Chelsea v Everton on Sunday with the 'Opposition View' from Tom Clarke from the Toffee Blues Podcast and discuss Sarri's chances of breaking the record of match wins as a new manager and Chelsea's excellent record against Everton at home over the last 24 years before revealing our predictions. All this plus calls from Kendall, Mark and Dan. Chelsea Fancast is broadcast on Love Sport Radio every Friday from 7.00-9.00 pm.  The Kerry Dixon Show 08/11/18 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:20:45

Stamford Chidge is joined by Chelsea, Kerry Dixon, to look back at Chelsea's 3-1 win against Crystal Palace and ahead to the Europa Cup match against Bate Borisov and Sunday's Premier League clash against Everton. Chelsea finally got their just deserts against Crystal Palace on Sunday but the South Londoners didn't make it easy and the match was only really settled by Eden Hazard coming on as a sub. Kerry was encouraged by Morata scoring two goals and putting himself about a bit, but still thinks it's too early to pass judgement on the Spaniard. With Sarri's Chelsea pushing Man City hard and still to be beaten in any competition, Kerry believes that as well as the quality of football improving, Sarri has generated a great team spirit. Looking ahead to Bate Borisov, several key players have been rested including three quarters of the defence and Alvaro Morata, however, Hazard, Kante and Jorginho who probably need a rest have made the trip. Kerry believes that whoever Sarri picks should be capable of beating Bate pretty much ensuring qualification to the last 32. Hopefully Ruben Loftus Cheek will get another chance to impress. Everton visit the Bridge on Sunday and although they had a poor start to the season, Silva their new manager seems to be getting them performing much better recently. Another opponent not to be taken lightly, Kerry still believes that Chelsea will have enough to beat Everton and keep the unbeaten run going.  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

'Smells Like Team Spirit' Chelsea FanCast #439 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:15:18

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Tony Glover and ESPN's Chelsea correspondent Liam Twomey to look back at Chelsea's 3-1 win against Crystal Palace on Sunday. On the show tonight we’ll be asking has Morata turned a corner and what do we make of Ruud Gullit’s comments that he hasn’t been getting the service he needs In part two we applaud Hazard, Sarri’s tactical subs; look at our impressive attacking options; give due praise to Jorginho, Chelsea’s unsung hero, smell the team spirit at Chelsea at the moment and ask why isn’t Sarri and Chelsea getting the credit they deserve. In part three, we have four superb emails for Jonathan to read out and for us to answer. In part four we have an interview with Chelsea Chadder on his new book ‘100 Memorable Matches’ which is out today and finally we give a nod to what's going on in the FanCast world.  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Chelsea FanCast on Love Sport Radio 03/11/18 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:50:49

Chelsea FanCast on Love Sport Radio - the only 100% Chelsea show on the radio! Stamford Chidge, Jonathan Kydd and Alex Churchill are joined by Love Sport's Aaron Paul to have a look back at Chelsea's 3-2 victory over 'Frank Lampard's' Derby County and Burnley v Chelsea and look ahead to Chelsea v Crystal Palace this Sunday. Ollie Harbord, Football.London's Chelsea correspondent, joins us on the phone to report back on Sarri's press conference on Friday: Hazard fit for 45 mins? Kante mentally ready; the good start being unexpected; Gary Cahill is the Captain; Barkley is important and Ruben Loftus Cheek has improved but needs to keep improving & won't go on loan.  Looking back at the Carabao Cup match against Derby County, we discuss the great reception for Frank Lampard & Jody Morris; a bonkers match where Derby played well and were unlucky not to win. Was the dodgy defending from Emerson, Cahill, Christensen, Zappacosta a question of being not good enough or just rusty? Are Frank & Jody a future Chelsea management team?  We have former Chelsea player and Manager, John Hollins on the phone to share his memories of colleague Ken Shellito who sadly passed away at the age of 78 this week. Ken, one of 'Docherty's Diamonds', played for Chelsea from 1959-1965 and also managed Chelsea from 1977-1978. Chelsea Chadder joins us on the phone to talk about his new book '100 Memorable Matches' delving in to some of Chelsea's greatest and not so great matches from 1905 to 2018. Re-visiting the win against Burnley, we ask was this Chelsea's best performance of the season or were Burnley just poor? And has Morata really improved? To wrap up we take a look at Chelsea v Crystal Palace on Sunday with the 'Opposition View' from former Palace player Shaun Derry and nail our colours to the mast with our match predictions, Chelsea Fancast is broadcast on Love Sport Radio every Friday from 7.00-9.00 pm.
