Stamford Chidge is joined by Chelsea legend Kerry Dixon for their weekly round up on all things Chelsea and a look ahead to Chelsea v Cardiff on Saturday! Chidge & Kerry compare the performances of Ethan Ampadu and Ruben Loftus Cheek and ask whether Ampadu is ready for Chelsea now and if the pressure and criticism of Loftus Cheek is fair. Looking ahead to the Chelsea v Cardiff match on Saturday Chidge asks Kerry whether he would start Giroud up front or Morata. With Cardiff likely to play a physical game would it not be better to play Giroud? Kerry gives his views on Neil Warnock and how he sets his sides up and reflects on the fact that Warnock nearly became Chelsea manager when Kerry was at the club. Will Warnock set out to target Hazard and we discuss the lack of an 'enforcer' in the Chelsea team. Kerry remembers some Chelsea 'enforcers' of his time at the Club.  The Kerry Dixon Show - 4 out of 4! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:33:28

Stamford Chidge is joined by Chelsea legend Kerry Dixon for their weekly round up on all things Chelsea! Chidge & Kerry discuss the merits of wearing teams down and coming up with late winners after Chelsea's fourth win out of four against Bournemouth last Saturday. In spite of Chelsea's 100% record so far, it is clearly a work in progress and there remain concerns about the strikers, with neither Morata or Giroud setting the world on fire. Who better to pass judgement on Chelsea's strikers than Kerry - a man who scored 193 goals for the club. The good seems to outweigh the bad for Sarri's start as Chelsea manager and Kerry applauds the start to the season and the performances of Hazard, Alonso and Jorginho in particular. Kerry wishes his former colleague Pat Nevin a happy 54th birthday and explains just how good Wee Pat was and how important he was for the club during the 1980's. And talking of 80's partnerships, Kerry announces a special event with his old striking partner, David Speedie, in October this year.  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Is Antonio Rudiger ‘Der Panzer” and with 4 wins out of 4 is it all too good to be true? What is the good and bad of Sarri’s season so far. In part three, we have emails for Jonathan to read out on Marcos Alonso and how to fix our defence; plus questions from the mixlr listeners. In part four we have a roundup of Chelsea supporter news and look forward to some Days in Europa.  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

The Kerry Dixon Show - Newcastle away | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:32:36

Stamford Chidge is joined by Chelsea legend Kerry Dixon to pick up from last weekend's victory over Arsenal and look ahead to Sunday's match against Newcastle. Kerry and Chidge ponder the exciting start to Chelsea's season but err on the side of patience as to where it might take the side with question marks about the defence. Morata's goal will do wonders for his confidence but it was Alonso and Hazard's cameo which caught the eye. Chidge asks what does Chelsea need to do to keep Eden Hazard - perhaps making him Captain? Looking ahead to Newcastle on Sunday, they have been something of a bogey side for the Blues with our last win at St James' Park coming in 2011. Hopefully Hazard will start in what Kerry expects to be much the same team selected for the Arsenal match. Chidge makes the case for Kovacic starting in place of Barkley while conceding that the latter has made a good start to the season. Either way Chidge and Kerry feel Chelsea will have enough to dispatch the Geordies.  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Clayton Beerman and Joe Tweedie to look back at the frenetic 3-2 win by Chelsea against Arsenal. On the show tonight we’ll be discussing Chelsea’s bonkers defeat of Arsenal, relive the excitement but wonder whether it would have been as much fun had we lost? In part two we ask can Chelsea keep up the pressing for 90 minutes? Are the defensive frailties a concern and should Kante resume the role he is so good at? And are we all getting a bit carried away with it all after just two matches. In part three, we have emails for Jonathan to read out on the captaincy; the low down on Kovacic from a Croatian; how a young man from Mumbai found Chelsea and what are the roots of the ‘match going fools’ v ‘armchair warriors’ twitter wars between Chelsea fans.  Chelsea Fancast on Love Sport Radio 17/08/18 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:50:19

Stamford Chidge, Jonathan Kydd and Mark Worrall join Aaron Paul to round up the Chelsea week and look ahead to the Chelsea v Arsenal match. The boys ask "what's the Sarri so far" and do they agree with his assertion that “in two months we can be a very good team." Will Kante's new role work? Is it a waste considering he’s the best defensive midfielder in the world? And what about Morata v Giroud – who should start? Morata is Sarri’s man but has no confidence so could Hazard be an option up front? With news of La Liga looking to play games in America, we ask how concerned should we be that the Premier League follow suit.  As Chelsea face Arsenal on Saturday we ask is there anything to worry about and just to make sure we talk to Suburban Gooner for his take on the match as well as making our own predictions - how will it pan out, what’s key? Finally we ask who should be Chelsea’s new Director of Football. All this plus three new Chelsea songs accompanied by Mark Worrall's mythical 'stylophone'  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

The Kerry Dixon Show - Chelsea v Arsenal | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:35:20

Chelsea Legend Kerry Dixon is back for the new season of weekly podcasts with Stamford Chidge. On today's show Kerry and Chidge look back at Chelsea's 3-0 win against Huddersfield and ahead to Chelsea's first home match of the season against Arsenal on Saturday. Kerry gives his thoughts on Maurizio Sarri's start as Chelsea manager and how long it will take for the players to adapt to his style of football. We discuss Kante's new role in the side and what Jorginho brings to it. With apparently 3 players up for the left midfield position, will Barkley, Loftus Cheek or Kovacevic make the cut? And what chance do Callum Hudson-Odoi and Tammy Abrahams have of making it in to the Chelsea side. With two new managers at the helm of both clubs, Chelsea v Arsenal this Saturday may be harder than usual to call. Should Sarri start Morata or Giroud up front and has Kerry changed his view on Morata? Kerry explains why it was so important for Eden Hazard to stay at Chelsea and why he is the man to make the difference. Finally Chidge and Kerry reveal their prediction for the match.  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
