Synopsis Jessica Jones S01E04 AKA 99 Friends podcast Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) becomes racked with paranoia as she tries to uncover the people or person who took all of those photographs. She suspects that everyone and anyone could be under the influence of Kilgrave (David Tennant). A new case sent to Jessica from the office of Hogarth, Chao and Dennowitz immediately raises alarm bells but as she investigates further her new client Audrey Eastman (Jessica Hecht) and her “cheating” husband Carlo (Ricky Paull Goldin) have a very different agenda. In the meantime Trish Walker (Rachael Taylor) begins to recover and move on from her ordeal apologising to Kilgrave on-air and also forming an unexpected bond with her assailant the police officer – Will Simpson (Wil Traval). The events at Trish Talk also yields unforeseen results as people come forward claiming that they too have been controlled and manipulated by Kilgrave. An increasingly cold and calculated Jeri Hogarth (Carrie-Anne Moss) establishes Jessica’s therapy – a Kilgrave survivors group. The first meeting of the group throws up a lead as to the identity of the photographer that leads Jessica to a known associate close to home. By day, however, Jessica is focused on acquiring surgical anesthetic that she thinks she can use on Kilgrave (David Tennant) and persuading Hope’s (Erin Moriarty) legal team of actually defending her from the media scrutiny. As Jerry Hogarth (Carrie-Anne Moss) agrees to explore Hope’s explanation about mind control on Trish Talk, she seemingly rubbishes Hope’s story for ulterior motives and in so doing places Trish Walker (Rachael Taylor) in grave danger. As Kilgrave attempts to dispatch Walker, Jessica foils his plans and attempts to deploy her own secret weapon against him, but comes undone as she is face-to-face with her nemesis and a chilling homage dedicated to Jessica Jones. John and Derek were lucky enough to attend many of the big panels held over the four day show and travel all over the show floor. In our first visit to New York Comic Con (or NYCC 2015) as Defenders we got the opportunity to check out the Marvel Netflix cast and creator panels for Jessica Jones and Daredevil Season 2, this included, as a huge surprise for the audience, the first airing of the pilot episode of Marvels Jessica Jones that will be released (with the other 12 episodes) on the 20th November 2015. In this podcast we discuss our spoiler free impressions of the episode and tone of the show. Well here we are at the final episode for our Agent Carter Valediction podcast and it’s time to say our farewell to Peggy Carter and the team of the Strategic Scientific Reserve. On this episode we discuss the return of Howard Stark, the incorporation of an infamous Jack Kirby plot device from the 1970s Captain America comic books, some of the most emotional moments in the series so far and a fantastic post-credits scene. Synopsis Agent Carter E08 – Valediction The SSR are called to the site of a mysterious massacre in a cinema where 47 people apparently murdered each other for no reason. Detective Sousa finds a canister at the site which releases a gas causing him to attack Thompson and Peggy Carter. The team quickly realise that this is item 17, the gas stolen from the SSRs captured stash of Howard Stark’s inventions. Howard returns to New York and reveals that this is “Midnight Oil” the substance at the heart of the Finow mystery. The team have a race against time to stop the rest of the gas being released on the unsuspecting celebrants of VE day in Times Square. Undeterred she has one last mission to take care of, the disposal of the final vial of Steve Rogers blood. Peggy bids a tearful farewell to Steve as the episode ends. Well here we are at the final episode for our Agent Carter S01E08 "Valediction" podcast and it’s time to say our farewell to Peggy Carter and the team of the Strategic Scientific Reserve. On this episode we discuss the return of Howard Stark, the incorporation of an infamous Jack Kirby plot device from the 1970s Captain America comic books, some of the most emotional moments in the series so far and a fantastic post-credits scene. Synopsis Agent Carter E08 – Valediction The SSR are called to the site of a mysterious massacre in a cinema where 47 people apparently murdered each other for no reason. Detective Sousa finds a canister at the site which releases a gas causing him to attack Thompson and Peggy Carter. The team quickly realise that this is item 17, the gas stolen from the SSRs captured stash of Howard Stark’s inventions. Howard returns to New York and reveals that this is “Midnight Oil” the substance at the heart of the Finow mystery. The team have a race against time to stop the rest of the gas being released on the unsuspecting celebrants of VE day in Times Square. We’re a bit shaken by this week’s episode of Agent Carter SNAFU, the penultimate episode of Agent Carter season 1, as we lose one of the SSRs finest in the 7th episode. We discuss the meaning of S.N.A.F.U., the confirmation of a Marvel super-villain in Doctor Faustus and obviously this big death. As well as this we discuss our plans for New York Comic Con in October and some feedback from Lauren and Amy of The Peggy Carter Podcast over on Assembly of Geeks. In Agent Carter SNAFU, written by Chris Dingess and directed by Vincent Misiano, Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) is cornered and under interrogation by her former SSR colleagues, as Agents Thompson (Chad Michael Murray) and Sousa (Enver Gjokaj), along with Chief Dooley (Shea Whigham), attempt to extract all she knows about Howard Carter and Leviathan. Despite a valiant attempt by Jarvis (James D’Arcy) to have Peggy released,with his fake signed confession from Stark, the rouse fails just as Peggy discovers the true identity of the enemy within, catching Doctor Ivchenko (Ralph Brown) communicating in Morse code with Dottie Underwood (Bridget Regan). However, Ivchenko already has Dooley conditioned to keep Carter under lock and key and steal Item 17 from the Stark weapon inventory. His parting gift to Dooley, as Leviathan make their move with the stolen weapon, is a highly experimental and explosively unstable vest that he is made to wear. As the SSR mistakenly zero in on Carter, Peggy reveals the truth about her own investigation to her colleagues to gain their trust and to expose Ivenchenko as the true enemy.
