Marvel's Jessica Jones S01E13 on Netflix AKA Smile Review by Defenders TV Podcast | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:48:30

We're finding it hard to Smile this week as we reach the end of our coverage of the latest and possibly best Marvel and Netflix TV show. Join us for our Jessica Jones S01E13 AKA Smile Podcast discussion all about the finale of the Marvel TV show. This time we discuss whether Jessica can fly, how Claire Temple plays in her second Netflix appearance and the final showdown between Jessica Jones and Kevin Kilgrave. We've loved covering this series since the 20th of November 2015 and we're delighted that it ended on a high. Synopsis for Jessica Jones S01E13 AKA Smile Podcast After her shot to his head, Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) and Luke Cage (Mike Colter) get some unexpected help at the hospital from someone else in Jessica's neighborhood who is intimately acquainted with gifted heroes. As she looks after an injured Luke, Jessica and Trish (Rachael Taylor) track down Kilgrave (David Tennant). However, unknown to Jessica, Kilgrave has augmented his mind control to a powerful new threshold...and this time he is willing to use them to deadly effect against her. With Kilgrave tracked and cornered at the harbour he uses his enhanced powers to control larger crowds and seemingly Jessica. As she appears to accept that she is under Kilgrave's command he exerts his powers over Jessica choosing to punish her by controlling Trish and giving him hope that she loves him. As the question remains about her immunity from his influence, out of the blue (or is that purple) Kilgrave's hopes for him and Jessica are snapped away from him!! As Kilgrave's influence recedes from New York, word of Jessica's heroics permeate through the city as her phone starts to buzz with calls asking for her help. We hope you enjoy our Jessica Jones S01E13 AKA Smile Podcast and we all want to say a huge thank you to all of our listeners and everyone who provided us feedback throughout our run on this show we hope you'll join us for our coverage of our next show Marvel's Agent Carter Season 2 which begins in the UK on Thursday the 28th of January 2016.  Jessica Jones 112 AKA Take A Bloody Number Review by Defenders TV Podcast | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:25:47

Jessica and Luke have a tender moment We’re at our penultimate episode with Jessica Jones 112 Review AKA Take A Bloody Number. This time we talk about a tender moment between Luke and Jessica, we question if I.G.H could have a connection to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Iron Fist and naturally that big dance floor battle. Synopsis for Jessica Jones 112 Review – “AKA Take a Bloody Number” Luke Cage (Mike Colter) reveals to Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) that he was ordered by Kilgrave (David Tennant) to destroy his bar as the hunt for Kilgrave reignites….sorry reunites Jessica with Luke as bridges are built over the death of Luke’s former wife Reva as he forgives her of any blame. Meanwhile Simpson (Wil Traval) has vanished at the hands of Doctor Koslov just as Trish’s mother (Rebecca De Mornay) presents unexpected information to her daughter about a mysterious company – IGH – who are responsible for Simpson and seemingly another important person in Trish’s (Rachael Taylor) life. All the while Kilgrave is forcing his father Albert (Michael Siberry) to concoct a way to increase and expand his control in order that he might affect Jessica once again. As Jessica and Luke go in search of leads at a nightclub Kilgrave appears and unleashes an unforeseen power upon Jessica that culminates in a very different kind of shootout. As we were editing this episode it was announced that Jessica Jones has been given a second season with this awesome tweet from @JessicaJones on Twitter. Join the Defenders for the Marvel’s Jessica Jones 109 Review of AKA Sin Bin to hear our in depth discussion about this episode. This week we discuss a power play by Hogarth’s partner Pam, a pill fueled power boost for Officer Simpson, a display of power by Jessica and an attempted removal of Kilgrave’s abilities in a hermetically sealed room. Synopsis for Jessica Jones 109 Review – “AKA Sin Bin” After the explosion outside Jessica’s childhood home, Simpson (Wil Traval) is rushed to hospital requesting to be seen by a Doctor Kozlov (Thomas Kopache) in a last ditch hope to save him from his injuries. Meanwhile Jessica (Krysten Ritter) has Kilgrave (David Tennant) secured in the hermetically sealed chamber located on the edge of the city, as she interrogates him to extract a confession for the murder of Hope’s parents and provide evidence of mind control. However, as more details of Kilgrave’s past emerge from the video tape Jessica and Trish (Rachael Taylor) follow another lead that they hope will be more persuasive – Kilgrave’s parents.  Jessica Jones 107 AKA Top Self Perverts Review by Defenders TV Podcast | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:32:39

Wil Traval plays Officer Simpson on Jessica Jones This time on Defenders TV Podcast John, Chris and Derek say a shocked farewell to an unexpected character in our Jessica Jones 107 review of AKA Top Shelf Perverts. We discuss our theories on Jeri Hogarth (Carrie-Anne Moss) and Officer Simpson (Wil Traval) and an interesting possible future for the upstairs neighbour Robyn (played by Colby Minifie) along with our usual top 5 on this episode and our feedback on the series so far. Synopsis for Jessica Jones S01E07 – “AKA Top Shelf Perverts” Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) slumps further in to heavy drinking, after her break from Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and begins to loose the plot as she takes up Jeri Hogarth’s increasingly malicious and violent plan to extract the divorce from her ex-partner, Wendy Ross-Hogarth (Robin Weigert). As things breakdown for Jessica, further tragedy calls at Alias Investigation’s front door as an innocent bystander becomes unexpectedly embroiled in the complex and dangerous life of Jessica Jones and Kilgrave (David Tennant). As she formulates an extreme plan to combat Kilgrave and draw him out it requires all of her friends unwanted help to prevent Jessica from carrying out her dangerous plan to outwit Kilgrave. As events crescendo between Jessica and Kilgrave the extent of his grand design becomes clear as he truly infiltrates her childhood memories.  Marvel's Jessica Jones S01E05 on Netflix AKA The Sandwich Saved Me Review by Defenders TV Podcast | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:14:09

This week John and Derek discuss their five points about the fifth episode in our Marvel’s Jessica Jones S01E05 AKA The Sandwich Saved Me podcast. We discuss two different superhero costumes from this episode, who we trust and don’t so far in the season, the cruelty of Kilgrave and a difficult experience for Malcolm Ducasse (Eka Darville). Synopsis for Jessica Jones S01E05 AKA The Sandwich Saved Me podcast Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) plays smart over the discovery of the identity of Kilgrave’s (David Tennant) photographer in crime as Officer Simpson (Wil Traval) also gets involved with her plan to track down Kilgrave, despite her initial reservations about his participation. As Jessica trails the photographer in an attempt to pin down the exact photo exchange location with Kilgrave, she begins to recall past memories in her life: as a regular 9 to 5 employee, a step-sister to Trish (Rachael Taylor), a superhero known as Jewel, and dressed as the Sandwich that saved her. However, as events speed up in the hunt for Kilgrave all of Jessica’s superhero strength and intelligence must be put to good use as they execute a daring plan against Kilgrave that leads to unforeseen consequences that put Jessica firmly in his sights.
