Ep. 215 - Bill Randolph. (Friday the 13th Part 2. Dressed To Kill) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:06:24

For the horror fans! Here's a deep cut. My guest on Episode 215 of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace Podcast is Bill Randolph. An actor best known for his role as "Jeff" in "Friday the 13th: Part 2". One of the most brutal kills in the F13 series. Impaled with a spear through his back and through "Sandra" underneath him, though the bed to the floor. He was also in Brian De Palma's "Dressed To Kill", "Switching Channels" with Burt Reynolds, Kathleen Turner and Christopher Reeve. He played the lead role in a short horror film "Double Negative" and several other movies including the slapstick comedy "The First Time" from 1981. A super cool, humble guy. Being a huge fan of the "Friday the 13th" franchise, these were one of those episodes that was very cool for me on a personal level. Enjoy!

Ep. 214 - Randy Shanofsky. (First Assistant Cameraman) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:11:06

My guest on Episode 214 of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace Podcast is Randy Shanofsky. Randy is a First Assistant Cameraman. His story is an incredible and how it came to fruition is pretty near impossible. From ordering a pair of shoes out of Rolling Stone magazine, he got his foot in the door in order to become a cinematographer. Almost forty years later he's still at it. He has worked on television shows and movies ever since. From the set of "The Outsiders" to "Beverly Hills 90210", "Masters of the Universe", "24", "Elvira: Mistress of the Dark", "Chicago Hope", "Cocktail", "The New Adventures of Lois and Clark" to "Desperate Housewives" just to name a few. A unique story from a sweetheart of a guy, but don't catch him in a bad mood or he'll put you in your place as he did to Charles Bronson. Yes... Randy wasn't havin' it. Enjoy!

Bonus - Sam Hoyos. (Playing Dead. Red River Podcast) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:55:17

He is the singer and guitarist of the rock band "Playing Dead" from Long Island. My guest on this Bonus Episode of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace Podcast is Sam Hoyos. He is also the host of the "Red River Podcast" and co-host of the "If I Ruled the World" podcast as well. Red River is one of my favorite podcasts. If you're not familiar with it, go check it out. We talk everything from our overall eclectic taste in music and movies to his band which is releasing their EP "Clock Tick Motivation" on May 21st. Sam's a good dude and his projects should be supported. Please don't mind the echo on my end, I explain why that is in the episode. Enjoy.

Ep. 213 - Mark Menghi. (Metal Allegiance. BPMD) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:12:22

My guest on Episode 213 of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace is a "Neighborhood guy". With roots in Brooklyn and residing in Long Island, Mark Menghi has done and continues to do amazing things. From being a regular at L'Amour to playing in local bands in venues all over New York City. He became friendly with members of legendary metal bands. He founded and put together "Metal Allegiance" with him, Dave Ellefson of "Megadeth", Mike Portnoy of "Dream Theater" and a ton of other bands and Alex Skolnick of "Testament". The even cooler thing is that they rotate guest singers and musicians. There's been appearances by Phil Anselmo, Gary Holt, Zetro, Andreas Kisser, Charlie Benante, Geezer Butler, Mark Osegueda and a ton of others. Way too many to name. He also played bass on the "BPMD" project with Bobby Blitz, Phil Demmel and Mike Portnoy as well. Super interesting guy. Much respect. Enjoy.

 Ep. 212 - Roseblood: A Friday the 13th Fan Film. (Panel) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:42:10

The most amount of people so far on The Brooklyn Blast Furnace Podcast! Here on Episode 212 we have Actor, Filmmaker and Director Peter Anthony aka "The Mad Cuban" who was a solo guest several months back. Actor Jason Brooks who I did a Bonus Mini Episode with from a Horror Convention a couple years back. Actor and Film Reviewer Jequient "Q" Broaden and Actor Todd Jenkins who has over 100 iMDB credits to his name. We talk all about "Roseblood: A Friday the 13th Fan Film". Directed and starring Peter as "General Brackbower", Jason Brooks plays "Jason Voorhees" as he did in "Friday the 13th: Vengeance", Todd is an out of pocket orderly in a psychiatric ward and "Q" plays Creighton Duke, the bounty hunter from "Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday". Peter got Lar Park Lincoln in the film to reprise her role as telekinetic "Tina Shepard" from Friday the 13th Part 7" as well as Terry Kiser to play "Dr. Krews" once again, which is an incredible thing especially if you're a fan of the films. This was a lot of fun to do, especially because we're all die hard fans of the F13 Franchise. Please back the Kickstarter for the sequel to "F13 Vengeance"...  Ep. 211 - Charlie The Hustler: Part 2. (The Bounce Back) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:04:25

We planned on a second part and now, we're working on a third. A New York City graffiti legend... Charlie The Hustler is once again my guest on Episode 211 of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace Podcast. We don't go too much into graffiti this time around. There's not many people who are this upfront and honest about what they go through. From what goes on in his head to his battle with addiction and the obsession that accompanies it. He fills us in on what has happened since the last time he was on the show and gets deep into it. Personally, I identify 100% with what he speaks on since I've gone through the exact same things. I could speak with him for hours. Keep your eyes open for an ever deeper third show with him. Enjoy.

 Ep. 210 - Diabolic: Part V. (A Fistful of Rapper Bolic) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:56:30

'Bolic is breakin' records ova here. This is the fifth time the homie has been on The Brooklyn Blast Furnace Podcast. And as always, highly entertaining with zero filter. We talk everything from cavities to starfish DNA to bladder mesh lawsuits. We go from Great White Shark teeth and the absence of so-called "hip hop culture" to how we're not havin' any of this "cancel culture" nonsense. His new album is finished and he says he'll drop it when he feels like it, and that's that. And... he'll be on again i'm sure! Thin-skinned, sensitive types, you've been warned. Nobody wants to hear your complaints if you don't like certain things that are said, so don't waste anyone's time. Enjoy!

Ep. 209 - "Cody Mac" McCarthy. (Shamrock Social Club) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:39:09

Manager at the World Famous "Shamrock Social Club" in West Hollywood, the son of an absolute legend and a member of the "Good Dad Gang". My guest on Episode 208 of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace Podcast is Cody Mac! This was long overdue. We go from listening to silly hair metal as kids to focusing on his upbringing as the son of Tim McCarthy, a legendary tour manager for huge stadium bands from the late sixties to the early 2000's. Cody grew up on tour with bands like "Fleetwood Mac", "The Doobie Brothers" and "Billy Joel". His godmother is Stevie Nicks. We go into how he became the manager at Shamrock and how he found himself in Bruce Willis and Johnny Depp's house on a house call. From arena rock bands to hip hop to the Doobie Brothers saving his life, Cody Mac has stories. This ruled. Enjoy.

Ep. 208 - Juan Urteaga. (Record Producer. Engineer. Owner of Trident Studios. ex: Vile) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:00:12

He's produced records for and worked with everyone from "Testamant", "Exodus", "Machine Head, "Vio-Lence", "Hatriot" and "Sadus" to "Night Ranger" and "Ted Nugent" to countless others. My guest on Episode 208 of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace Podcast is Juan Urteaga. Record Producer, Engineer and Owner of "Trident Studios" located about a half hour outside of the San Francisco Bay Area. We go back to his old bands to the formation of his former band "Vile" to why he began recording bands. From the shitty local bands to working with legends. A bit different being he's the first producer I've had on but as always, a lot of fun to do.

 Ep. 207 - Cody & Nick: The Souza Brothers. (Hatriot) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:10:54

My guests on Episode 207 of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace aren't just the second wave of Bay Area Thrash Metal, but they're the second generation. Cody and Nick Souza, sons of Steve "Zetro" Souza of "Exodus". After "Zetro" left "Hatriot" due to commitments with "Exodus", his son Cody took over vocals and bass while Nick got behind the drums. This happened to be the second time we recorded due to me messing up the audio the first time around, but I could talk to these guys every day. Super cool and professional. The band rules and they'll definitely be back on when their upcoming record "Vale Of Shadows" gets released on "Massacre Records" later this year. Straight up Bay Area Thrash Metal. Check them out everywhere! Respect.

Ep. 206 - Slaine. (Solo Artist. Actor. La Coka Nostra) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:33:02

In my opinion, he's one of the best, most consistent rappers over the past fifteen years. From the streets of Boston to battling addiction and hitting rock bottom, the world had something better for him. From the formation of "La Coka Nostra" to literally being discovered in a newspaper article by Ben Affleck. He went from squatting in a warehouse to the big screen and touring the world over. You might have seen him alongside Ed Harris and Casey Affleck in "Gone Baby Gone", or Ben Affleck and Jeremy Renner in "The Town", "Let Me Make You A Martyr", "Killing Them Softly" or several other movies. My guest on Episode 206 of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace podcast is George Carroll... better known as "Slaine". We were gonna do this episode face to face over a year ago but things came up, then geography, life and this virus came into play. I'm glad we were able to do this on the heels of his newest record, "The Things We Can't Forgive", which is one of, if not his best album to date. A super humble, nice guy. It was an honor to chop it up with him. I hope you enjoy this one. Respect.

Ep. 205 - Dave White. (Heathen. ex: Blind Illusion) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:45:24

I first heard of the Bay Area Thrash band "Heathen" from the "Hard N' Heavy Thrash & Speed Metal Special" VHS tape in 1989. I'm grateful to have had members of a bunch of the thrash bands from the Bay Area on the podcast simply due to that tape. Their debut record "Breaking the Silence" is an absolute classic thrash album. So I reached out to my guest on Episode 205 and he couldn't have been nicer. David White... singer for "Heathen" and early member of "Blind Illusion", Les Claypool and Larry LaLonde's old band. We go way back to high school and the metal scene in San Francisco, into "Blind Illusion" and eventually into him joining "Heathen". Dave is also a teacher and a swim coach. We probably could've gone another hour. Their new record, "Empire Of The Blind" produced by Zeuss is incredible. I hope you enjoy. Respect.

Bonus - Knocko: Part 2. (LAPD. Netflix: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel. DBUET) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:25:55

It would've happened eventually regardless, but since my friend Knocko was recently a part of the Netflix Limited Series "Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel", we decided, why not do an impromptu Part Two. A Detective Sergeant with the Los Angeles Police Department, Co-founder of the Delta Bravo Urban Exploration Team and all around good guy. We chop it up about some of his police work, how he got involved with a Netflix series and a bunch of other random gabagool. From Brooklyn to Queens to Los Angeles to your ears. We're ova here now.

Ep. 204 - Craig Locicero. (Forbidden. Dress The Dead. Manmade God. Spiralarms. Demonica) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:19:53

Bay Area Thrash legend! In my opinion, a bit of an unsung, underrated guitarist and songwriter. From "Forbidden" to working with the genius, Rick Rubin on the "Manmade God" record, to "SpiralArms" and "Demonica" to his newest project, "Dress the Dead". my guest on Episode 204 of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace Podcast is Craig Locicero. We talk about the early days and history of "Forbidden", the Bay Area thrash scene back in the day, his bands and what's in store for his main focus, "Dress the Dead". another super nice guy that I had the opportunity to chop it up with. I hope you enjoy this. Respect.

 Ep. 203 - Jeff Becerra. (Possessed) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:43:59

The creator of Death Metal. Innovator, legend and inspiration. My guest on Episode 203 of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace Podcast is Jeff Becerra. He picked up a bass at eleven years old and history was literally made. From his first band "Blizzard" to him joining "Possessed". He indirectly created a genre of music. Some people have argued this, but it's a fact. We go into the early days of "Possessed", being on the road in Europe at sixteen years old with already a Gold record under his belt. To the break-up, then into his tragedy of him being a victim of a robbery and being shot twice, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down. From the throes of addiction to recovery to the reforming of "Possessed" and beyond. It was an honor to speak with this man. Enjoy!
