The Wild Chef–Jeremiah Doughty aka From Field to Plate–joins The Rich Outdoors hunting podcast to chat about two of my favorite subjects: food and hunting. If you are into either of those you will love this podcast. Jeremiah is a passionate chef with an incredible passion for knowing where is food comes from, and how it is prepared.     

Today, Ryan Carter of DC Outfitters in Southern Utah joins me to chat about elk hunting, chasing the biggest bull on the mountain, and understanding the difference in how to do so effectively. We talk about elk behavior, patterns, movement, and more. We also chat a little bit about whats going on with the Western Hunt Expo scandal and his thoughts on that as a local Utah elk hunter.  

Zach Owens, of Beyond The Backcountry, joins me on the podcast this week to talk a wide variety of hunting topics. We had a blast talking about hunting motivation, fitness, and the difference between rifle hunting and bow hunting. We also chat about hunting with your significant other and some advice for how to approach that as well. Zach is a stand up guy with a great sense of humor and some awesome advice for hunters. We also talk about Idaho wolf hunting and some of the struggles Zach has faced finding an elusive wolf. All in all, we had a blast talking about hunting, and nothing gets me more pumped to head out to the mountains like chatting about it with good friends. Today’s episode is a special episode, and it’s one that I really wish more hunters would not only listen to but get involved in.   I am super excited to share today’s interview with you guys. I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out and I’m so thankful to Larry D. Jones for taking the time and share his wisdom and experiences with us. Larry D Jones started bowhunting in 1961, and has travel around the world chasing adventure and experience ever since. Renowned wildlife photographer and bow hunter Tony Bynum shares with us some great wildlife photography tips, advice, and philosophy. As well as some tips on just capturing the memory of the hunt and taking better hunting photos. Today’s interview came about somewhat of my own intrigue and curiosity, though I think there are a lot of really great takeaways even for those who have no need for wildlife photography advice.
