Jesus takes on religion, tradition and hypocrisy. Is it wrong to wash your hands? Not wash your hands? Hold to tradition? Not hold to tradition? Embrace change? Not embrace change?  We want Christianity to be a list of do's and dont's that apply to everybody, but God refuses to make it that. Instead, it's a living relationship where each believer is lead by the Spirit according to the convictions God personally gives them about truth, sin, wisdom, morals, standards, etc... Did Jesus encourage his followers to be cannibals and vampires? "Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you." (John 6:53) Perhaps the single most offensive statement during the course of Jesus' ministry. Probably one of the most misunderstood statements today. What did Jesus mean by this statement? Sometimes the best way to study the Bible is to pray through the Bible. What do I mean by that? This sermon is a great example. Instead of just reading about Jesus sending out his twelve apostles, or studying the details of the words, the culture, etc..., we're going to glean the principles related to Jesus sending us out as his ambassadors into the world and ask God to make these principles true in our lives. This may come as a surprise to you, but Jesus had siblings. Brothers and sisters. Half-brothers and sisters to be exact. Two of them might be familiar names to you: James and Jude.  It may come as more of a surprise to you that Jesus' own family rejected him, at least while he was still alive. In fact, it seems that a few times during his ministry, they came to talk some sense into Jesus. After the resurrection, different story, at least for Mary, James and Jude.
