BOOK DISCUSSION WITH FRAN LEWIS: EXTRA SPECIAL EDITION | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:58:00

THREE EASTERN: TWO CENTRAL: ONE MOUNTAIN: TWELVE PACIFIC: Red River Radio and Fran Lewis would like to welcome best selling author Roger Ellory. Roger's latest release Bad Signs is being spotlighted on this show. What happens when two young brothers wind up in a dangerous crossfire and their lives are manipulated by a serial killer and their world turned upside down and violent. Bad Signs is about Clarence and Elliot and what happens when they get lost in a system that is faulty and uncaring. Children do not ask to be born. Adults give them life but sometimes those adults are not ready or willing to deal with having the responsibility of children. Carole Kempner had two boys neither grew up knowing her because her life ended in a violent and horrific manner. Elliot and Clarence came from two different fathers but both would learn the hard lessons of life and the violence that accompanies it. Watching your own mother slaughtered or killed would traumatize any child. Hoping that she was just asleep a total myth. One father who could care less and another who could not be found and a friend who would report what she found. Stars are meant to shine in the night sky and provide comfort and warmth for those that like to wish upon them. But, sometimes we think that when bad things happen to us too often that maybe, just maybe the stars that seem to shine upon us are not so good or their brightness holds something evil or bad within them. Bad Signs by author R.J. Ellory will enlighten you all to the mean of being born under a bad star and much more. Join me, Sandra Elrod and Kenneth Weene when R.J. Ellory joins us for this special two hour show.

Artists, Mike Dubisch, Wade Zahares, and Carolyn Watson Dubisch talk with painters, sculptors, photographers, and other members from the world of art. For this show our first guest will be Bay area artist, Cody Vrosh. "Vrosh is a mainstay at artists’ expos of the Bay Area and beyond, plying his concept to an unsuspecting world. The concept in which a quaint and waiflike fragility is forced to wear its daily apocalyptic wardrobe of gasmasks and revealing clothes.  It speaks of innovation and talent, his pieces bridging the gaps between concept, pop and comic art all at once."  Next on the show,we will be speaking with children's book illustrator and fine artist Giles LaRoche. Little did Giles know that when he grew up, other people would gaze at his books about faraway lands and that he would also travel to many of the places he would come to illustrate and write about in such books as Bridges Are To Cross, Sacred Places, What's Inside? Fascinating Structures Around the World, and If You Lived Here: Houses of the World. Whether Giles is exploring in Europe or hiking in New England, he always has a sketchbook in hand. Our final guest will be children's book illustrator and monster artist, Kevan Atteberry.  Based in the Seattle area, Kevan's delightful drawings have appeared in a wide variety of books, magazines and other media throughout the world. Famous for creating "Clippy the Paperclip" for Microsoft Office, Kevan Atteberry has been illustrating since he was knee-high to a crayon.
