TVC055 James Schramko on Life By Design | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 29:07

TVC055 James Schramko Life By Design When I asked Super Fast Business founder James Schramko to come on the show, I sent an email to him that says lets discuss, “The Myth of Work-Life Balance”. He wrote back and said, “No, It’s work life success. It’s how to work from anywhere at your schedule. It’s taking advantage of the routine you set, that’s what sets you free.” His idea of defining the freedom that comes with success is spot on. In this episode, you will learn how you can create a life with freedom and success with James approach of setting some tracks up for your  business to run smoothly and not get side tracked by internal conversations on the what’s coming up next.   We chat about: Redefining how you are going to live your life – throwing out the old stories and re-writing the script What is partitioning and how it works. (What I like to refer to as the elements of a winning week -J ames refers to this as partitioning How to create a balance between life and work through partitioning and planning. How can having the right routine can bring you freedom and success to your business. The right way to set filters, rules and structure, so that they work properly. At first, when James decided to build his own business, he was overwhelmed with all his tasks. He explains I didn’t have any constraints or any rules. I did whatever I wanted when I wanted it. Later on, I realised that I needed a routine that was structured. A routine that will help me roll the train along the tracks of my business. Removing the transfer of energy I spent whenever you try to figure out what do next, or what shall be doing now..I decided it was time to eliminate the discussions and make things super simple, fast.     Partitioning also helped him a lot in creating his perfect routine. He said it’s like using a glass to hold water. You put boundaries that defines you focus. You can partition your tasks in a week.  Set boundaries and key areas of influence for your week. (I refer to this as the Elements Of A Winning Week) * You can create time blocks and use scheduling tools. * Set open and closed days. Have the open days to execute your tasks, while the closed ones are for your use as you see fit. It’s your freedom time to do passion projects, recuperate or re-energize. By doing this, you set filters, rules and structure to your routine. Incorporating these techniques with the Five Elements of the Winning Week, you get to plan your week and get the winning week you want. By choosing how and who you want to spend you time with prevents you from being pulled in different directions. You have to allot a time in finding out what life you really want, or you’ll get what the one you’ll be given.    James tip: Stop selling your time. Instead, buy other people’s time. Designate tasks that are time-consuming to people who can finish them more efficiently. It enables you to sell your products faster and continuously. Work only on things that have a high impact. Filter tasks and ensure you work on the IMPORTANT ones not the ones you might have marked urgent.    Have an honest conversation with yourself. For you to be able to get anywhere, you have to start from within. No one is going to give you a lottery ticket. You are absolutely accountable for defining your priorities and your choices. What do you do with your time or what do you want to be doing with your life is all yours to take.

TVC 054 Life By Design with Greg Merrilees | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 25:50

TVC054 Life By Design with Greg Merrilees Hi guys. Welcome back to The Vitality Coach Podcast. You know it’s such an inspiring moment for me recording our show as I always get to speak to these incredible entrepreneurs and business people that are creating their life they love – with the reality of  struggle, challenges and just realising how hard it is just to go from running a business to being in the business. And today, I’ve got a special guest, Greg Merrilees CEO and founder of Studio One Design. He actually is responsible for helping me bring to life my new website which will be going live soon.   Why Greg? Greg is  a great example of someone who’s found a destiny by being flexible in a changing marketplace and resourceful enough to bring together what he was good at and enjoyed, with a new avenue in business.   Greg shares his story: About 5 years ago, the clothing industry took a bit of a turn if you’re like where the retailers were getting, sorry the wholesalers which were our clients were getting squeezed out by the retailers and therefore, you know, our clients we going out of business, the retailers were going directly to China or built their own design teams. So we started to get squeezed out, so I had to leave it and that’s when I started looking online. That was pretty much the pivotal point for me, you know, to get into the online space. I did and I love listening to podcasts and you know, especially from high-level coaches like yourself, all this information out there is for free and as a listener, I think we’re all fools if we don’t take advantage of that. I just decided it was time for something new, agile and I could make design online come to life for online marketers and coaches….   This edition with Greg is about taking action,  to be flexible and to ask yourself “What can I do to step up to the next level?”. So wherever you are right now, it’s the right place to be.   Some quick takeaways from this great podcast on Creating The Life You Want: a) what you put in is what you get out b) reciprocity – always give back c) keep learning, new skills, new challenges and growth are essential for forward momentum d) make time to play – age should not be a reason you stop doing things you love. e) choose your mentors and coaches well – do they really practice and resonate what they preach? f) lead a balanced week – that includes quality sleep   And finally….Start NOW: That’s why we do this, for you, so that you can get off the couch and get your ideas off paper and into action and start living the life that you want. There are some amazing elements in this podcast that will have you thinking – “I recognise that” and “if Greg can do it so can I”.   If something that Greg or I said resonates with you or we talked about the 90-day coaching plan and you want some help on that, then please leave a comment at the show notes because we’d love to hear feedback, plus both Greg and I love to answer your questions. I’ve also included a direct sign-up box for my most popular winning week formula.  TVC053: The Vitality Bank with Chris Dufey | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 32:52

TVC053 The Vitality Bank with Chris Dufey Welcome back to The Vitality Coach Podcast as we kick off September with more from my Influencer Series. This episode I have the pleasure of interviewing  world leading Personal Trainer, Chris Dufey.   Producing excellent results and living a life you love requires balance, planning and consideration in business and all areas of life. Chris follows his passion everyday in business and in personal life and we thought it would be fantastic to chat about the importance of having a healthy Vitality Bank™.   Now based in Bali and having coached a wide range of clients for performance, physique and fitness competitors. Chris is an international presenter to both the general population and the professional Personal trainer.   A successful author, presenter and fitness competitor, to top it all off and why I love chatting with Chris, he lives and breathes health and fitness.   So today, we share how he makes that work. In this episode Chris and I talk about the role of running your body like a business.   Why  do so many people run successful companies, are great at their job,  have amazing titles and yet fall short on really having personal mojo?  How can you matches that same drive and passion for a financial bottom line and personal success?   We show you how to bring your Vitality Bank Balance Sheet back into balance. Here’s a quick look at some of the top tips: * Plan 12 weeks ahead and then break down each 30 days. Work out where you are within the year and what is the focus for the next 90 days, then break that down into 30/7 days and immediate tasks. * Include all elements from business, health and well being, friends/family and down time. * Make time for yourself – daily. * Set time in your agenda for well being, strategy and creative and STICK TO IT. * Understand a healthy body and healthy mind go hand in hand – they are interlinked and vital for long term sustainable success. * Focus on what is truly the PRIORITY. What is vital for you to have done and remember your why. Don’t go chasing too many rabbits, as Chris puts it, but rather focus on one at a time. * Good habits become powerful rituals for daily purpose and routine. Find ones that work and don’t be afraid to think about your weekly plans per season.   How many days does it take to form a habit. How about thinking 66 instead of 21! A lot of people are saying 21 days, however recently it has been said 66 days. The importance of habit forming is keep focused on that one thing ..if you are trying to adopt multiple habits at once, you are really trying to put to much on your plate its never going to work. Keep it simple. Above all else – you create the life you want. You need to be 100% responsible for yourself. No one else is going to do it for you. Having accountability is empowering and brings with it clarity and conviction.   Complaining is absolutely pointless it does day no good so once you take responsibility for yourself and you know the bus stops with you and you have to take action, then you can really move on and… the next for me is getting super clear on what it is you want. Chris   Ignited and fired up? Great! Once you have started this journey of measuring your deposits into life and what is withdrawing your energy, don’t forget to celebrate the small milestones as you go.Take time out to calibrate and each week ensure you have a moment to be grounded to yourself and your surroundings. GET YOUR 5 ELEMENTS OF A WINNING WEEK WORKSHEET HERE OR go direct to t...

TVC 052 Procrastination 101 with Keith Abraham In this episode I  welcome back to the show motivational and success coach Keith Abraham,  so we can get straight to the heart of procrastination 101. Why it’s your worst enemy to truly achieve your goals and top tips on how to stop procrastinating and start doing! A short, powerful and engaging episode with top tips to get you going straight away. The thing around procrastination is that it is the greatest robber of self-esteem, diminishing self-confidence and self-discipline. From a vitality point of view, it’s so important to face a procrastination head on and take action now.  Just start focus on the journey and not on the outcome. For example; get out the door for 15 mins if you don’t like it, you can turn around and come back, and low and behold you’re done 30 minutes of exercise!   Getting into 1st gear and making things happen. 1. Identify  one thing you’ve being procrastinating about, that you really want to achieved. We want you to get off this podcast and do one thing about that in the next 5 minutes and actually write a comment, let us know. 2. Leave us a comment when you have taken action. What was your goal and what was the first action. We want to be your accountability partners, so we will be here to read your action point, to take your goals off paper and into reality. 3. Keep it simple – don’t list 3 or 10 things – but choose one element to do right now. 4. Buddy Up. Find someone at home or at work you can be accountable with. Review that old list and define what is truly relevant right now. Some of your old goals and dreams may have completely shifted. Start sifting through the clutter and find the goals and tasks that are really truly crucial to you living the life you love right now. No excuses. No delay. Keith’s best piece of advice for people who put off exercising?  Go to bed in your gym gear.  TVC 051: Giving Back: The Mothers Day Classic | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 22:06

TVC 051: The Mothers Day Classic. I always say that giving back and getting involved is a great way to motivate yourself for a greater cause, however, a lot of people are overwhelmed and confused about what charitable cause to choose. So I’d love to bring light into some of the things that are special about choosing charity events as a personal goal,  as your pillar to give back and how to know you’re making the right decision.   As part of this series, I had the pleasure of interviewing The Women in Super Mothers Day Classic CEO Sharon Morris –  about her role bringing together one of the longest standing charity fun runs across Australia. In its 18th year, they have been able to raise close to $25million dollars for breast cancer research in Australia.  We discuss the rise of non-profit events and how The Women In Super Mothers Day Classic as created such a legacy and continued to grow. Sharon says this is due to the fact they have incredible sponsor support, amazing volunteers and the real dedication to creating a family event.   Largely supported by Women in Super network, which is a network of women in the Super Industry, Sharon leads a power packed HQ team of 7 people – with one hundred and four events across the country and, of course, all made possible by an incredible nationwide team of volunteers. The wonderful thing about the Mother’s Day Classic is we’re supported by thousands of volunteers across the country. So we may have a small team and a head office, and there are many, many passionate people out in the community that support the event, and I think that’s what makes it so special, and it’s what makes my role so special. The event was started back in 1998 and is continued to be supported by volunteer expertise and sponsorship via an incredible network of Women in Super and superannuation companies. The point of difference according to Sharon, is not only how people participate but the legacy for which they walk, run, stroll or wheel their way to the finish. I think that is the real emphasis, and our statistics tell us that about 60% of our people actually choose to walk and the rest choose to run, and I know that a lot of people and a lot of women in particular run in the event and they walk with their families, and I think we are unique in that people walk and participate together, but as you’re walking around or running around the course, everybody is wearing a tribute in memory or in support of someone currently going through breast cancer, and to me that what makes our event so unique. There’s this really emotional side of the event that it’s about remembering, that it’s also about celebrating life. It’s about celebrating women, and it’s about celebrating the family unit.   Knowing where your donations go: The most important thing when choosing a charity to support is to know where your funds go.  Every little bit does count,  it’s very much about transparency, where these funds and registration fees go, which is why I love talking to non-profit organisations such as this. I ask Sharon her top tips on choosing a charity and knowing where the funds would go? 1. Ask: Everybody should ask because with our event, in particular, we raise all our funds for breast cancer research. We choose the National Breast Cancer Foundation as the organisation we donate our money to and we’ve decided and now particip...

 TVC 050: Giving Back | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 27:27

TVC 050: Giving Back 5 Ways to Make a Difference Right Now Bringing personal and business vitality to life with conscious living and a sense of contribution. I wouldn’t have believed when I first started recording this podcast that we’ll be at 60+ episodes in 80 countries with 650,000+downloads, so I want to thank you for being a part of this journey, for bearing with me as I found my regular voice, for engaging with our fantastic guests and using the tools to help create the life you want. I love getting your feedback. To mark the 50th episode of The Vitality Coach podcast I shared my top tips on giving back,  5 ways you can get started right now to help make a difference and an impact without needing funds or giant gestures and why giving back is essential in everyday living. I want to engage you in the conversation that the giving back doesn’t just have to be about financial philanthropy. It’s also about giving back your time, experience and elements in your life that can add value and support for others.   Even starting as close to home as spending time and helping your own family and friends.   I’m going to talk to you through some 6 wonderful platforms that you can give back and some 5 top tips on how you can do it without turning your life upside-down.   GIVING BACK IS NOT JUST ABOUT MONEY IT’S YOUR TIME, YOUR EXPERIENCE AND YOUR PRESENCE THAT COUNTS   HERE ARE MY TOP 5 TIPS ON GIVING BACK: * Start with you * Start at Home * Lead By Example at Work * Choose Charities that Resonate * Give back Within Your Means   To give back really starts with yourself. I know this may sound selfish but I mean this in the regard to ensuring you are in your best position to help others. Are you being kind to yourself? Are you feeding yourself nutritious healthy food that will help your body operating in the optimum? Are you treating yourself to health benefits such as exercise, fitness and activities that you enjoy that are good for your cardiac condition and for your overall well-being? Are you giving back with time alone when you can read and regenerate and even just taking a moment out to meditate or whatever it is to make sure you’re complete and replete, body, mind and soul? So, first of all, start out personally. Unless you give back to yourself and create time to nurture for you to actually top up your vitality bank, for you to consider your emotional intelligence, your financial planning, figuring out what’s purposeful in your life, planning your winning week and making those moments of giving back also for you. Start at home:  The first thing I have to say is if you’re going to choose a charity or start thinking “how can I contribute“, think about places in the environment you live so you can already start giving back just in your daily moments, so there’s number one at home with family and friends. * Choose cruelty-free and eco-friendly cleaning products, * Recycle – start living with consciousness and you’ll already start giving back on a daily basis. * Walk outside your front yard  “Do I know my neighbours? Can I bake a cake for someone? Is someone ill? Do they need to be dropped at the hospital? Do they need care? Can I pick up the groceries?” What can you do for a neighbour or a friend that maybe isn’t going to reach out to you, but you can reach out to them and say, “Hey, how can I help?”.  Whatever is going to help people in times of need, it could be much closer than you think. Don’t turn a blind eye to those small at-home moments where you can be giving back. Think about being more connected with those closest to you. Spend a little more time off the computer and more time with your kids. So why not after dinner turn your iPad off, turn your computer off,

 TVC 049: Madame Flavour | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 26:44

TVC 049: Madame Flavour Balancing a brand with family and fortitude. Meet Corinne Noyes, founder of luxury tea brand Madame Flavour.  I travel with the Madame Flavour teas in my suitcase and love to share them with my clients in the welcome packs, so I just had to reach out and ask Corinne if she would be on the show and talk about her vision and passion behind building her life and her brand.   As a busy mum balancing career and family Corinne share’s her story on how to have it all and just find a way to make it work.Six years ago Corinne started the business after 20 years of working in corporate marketing for large companies.   There were things about that that were great but I just started to feel like a bit of a rat in a wheel in that sense of go to work, come home, tired, wake up, go to work, and also wasn’t sure whether the corporate values were really ultimately familiar at all or felt large and disconnected. So I had my daughter started to think about what was next for me and I just happen to go down the path of looking at tea and seeing particularly what was available in the supermarkets at that time which was really limited, paper tea bags with fairly bland and unexciting packaging. For Corrine there was a passion around beautiful themes, care and a personal touch. I just knew that the ritual of tea was so much more than what people are able to buy in supermarkets at the time, so I basically decided to start a tea business, start my own business and there was no history of it in my family, so it was quite a bold and significant move for me at the time   We hear about how Corinne brings her personal story to life through her products, her brand and what the vision is for the company moving forward and how she is truly creating the life she wants.   Learn about the new MINDFULNESS range complete with the art of meditation and a moment to pause. Collaborating with The Smiling Mind App this new initiative is particularly designed for women to just take a few moments to themselves and reconnect and not feel the need to be doing something just for a few minutes in their day.   Conscious Living: What I love about this brand is Corinne’s commitment to the complete experience, their packaging is recyclable, compostable and thus supporting conscious living and a more sustainable approach.   Corrine explains  the pyramid tea bags themselves are biodegradable, so obviously that’s sustainability and that nourishment comes back to the earth with the brand and their story.   I just think that we create our own constraints and our own limitations, and I genuinely believe particularly for us in the Western World, anything is possible. If anything that’s the challenge isn’t it? So that’s where it comes down to taking the first step. Times are changing and people are doing whatever they want to do, and it’s wonderful that we have the basics in place that we can really make conscious choices now. It was truly a pleasure interviewing Corinne and I look forward to following up with another interview together in the future about blending personal time out with the power of the pause. As mentioned you can find out more about her delicious tea on Madame Flavour and tune in for more podcasts and interviews on The Vitality Coach on itunes  Yours in Vitality

 TVC046: Finding Your Focus | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 19:00

TVC 046  Finding Your Focus Mindset Magic: Finding Your Focus – A Fresh Perspective. You may be asking yourself at the moment with everything going on – where do I fit in, am I ever going to get my goals achieved? We are constantly bombarded by social media and losing perspective on what is truly real rather than presented to us – this is is creating a confusing platform for many people who are just trying to look and feel their personal best,  balancing business and personal success. In this episode I help you get back to basics to define what your personal best looks and feels like – at home, work and in wellbeing.  All part of the Vitality Road Map and creating the life you want.  I’m taking this from a post I wrote long ago and it’s time to bring it up again. Time to reconnect and find your focus. The first question I ask people in workshops is to define what their absolute best looks and feels like…and boy do they struggle to clearly state what that is. Have we forgotten what feeling fantastic and loving our life feels like? Never before have we been challenged so much on finding our true focus, and who we really are. The fact pre-schoolers are already on tablets and learning from screens is a signal to come that we are moving further and further away from personal interaction and a sense of connectivity. Yvette Adams and I spoke about this interviewing her for the book No Kidding. It is challenging enough to truly connect with others, let alone ourselves. The more time we stare at screens and watch what every one else is doing, the more distance we are creating from our own imagination, thoughts and feelings. The problem that I am seeing time and time again when I run my workshops or presenting, is that very few people can define what their personal best actually look and feels like. Without a clear authentic definition of what being your personal best actually is, you can get dragged into so many different directions, styles of living, ways of being and presenting yourself that pull you further and further away from your true north. Overall this results in a reduced sense of purpose and individuality and increased number of people walking around on autopilot. It is my absolute mission to help change that and inspire a sense of independence and personal clarity. You can absolutely create the life you want – you just have to tune in and figure out what that may be. I know myself how challenging it can be to really stand tall and see if you can define what you stand for. I’m in an industry of health and wellbeing that is dominated by selfies, ab shots, diet tips, tricks and stage work. However  – the fact I have a very clear connection to the reason WHY I am working so hard to share and inspire, is helping me stay true to my message of vitality and not get caught up in the hype of quick fixes and comparisons. Of course it can get distracting – but you need to stay strong, focused and have a good sense of what it feels like when you are truly authentic. So here’s how to get started right now: The power of mindset – taking a moment to pause and reflect on what’s truly important. Mindset is magical when you can recognise you are getting off track and bring yourself back to an inner connection and sense of being in the present. Accept the fact this will happen. It’s human nature. As discussed with the wonderful Mike Duff on earlier podcasts – we need to recognise the old ego and negative self talk, put it aside and determine the positive thoughts we want to keep and live by. This is essential when it comes to self-esteem, self-definition and personal growth.

 TVC 045 Mutual Admiration Rocks | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 22:33

TVC 045 Mutual Admiration – Why Working With Great People Rocks and Gets Amazing Results. Welcome back! It’s so great to be back on air again and kick start the podcasts – finally we have things back in action after a long break for strategy and working on an international online program for The Vitality Road Map.   I’ve really missed the podcast sessions and it’s good to be back behind the mic and getting some core messages and interviews out again. Cannot wait to share who we have coming up this year as part of my INFLUENCER SERIES.   For this episode I wanted to kick off the new season talking about REAL mutual admiration and why working together, collaborating and supporting like minded individuals really rocks.   I share my top 5 tips for creating a fantastic collaboration and why there needs to be a true authentic connection to really create extraordinary results. Overheard on the LBD Business Vitality Retreat I run with Janine Garner last weekend was the comment: You have to be a participant in your own rescue This is so true. Whether you’re a CEO, a mum, a partner, a go-getter or just looking to take your life to the next level of feeling fantastic, you need to meet those that are helping you half way and commit to the journey.   So if you want to take what you’re doing to the next level make sure you have your dream team around you who are authentically “available” to be a part of the highs, the lows and the bits in between.   It’s the journey that counts and those we travel with.   My top five factors in finding mutual admiration for projects, mentors, coaches and friends: 1. Values – do your core values align? Need a reminder on what those may be then have a listen back to my podcast with Mike Duff on MINDSENSE and check out the values chart   2. Celebrate Milestones – are you able to truly high five each other over small wins and are you open about celebrating along the way? True collaboration is when those we work with or share the journey with are genuinely happy for all the highs – and you feel completely comfortable sharing them. If you are nervous about sharing small wins or positive factors that could be a sign you’re not aligned with the right person to help be there as you grow. There is absolutely no shame in celebrating wins – in fact we need to do it more often!   3. Be Vulnerable: At the same time as celebrating small wins you know you have a great team work factor or collaboration when you can show vulnerability and be real. Shouting out via a quick text when you need help or hit a road block, sharing challenges that are on the radar and asking for help at the time when you need it means those that care, and are genuinely there can step up and support. A great collaboration and real admiration is for the good and the bad times – with no filter.   4. Be Present – Just like being vulnerable being real means being able to have a great conversation and set up a plan on how you want to work with someone. If your values are aligned and you’re able to be honest and open working together can be great. Things are going to go wrong, that is life! However a strong foundation allows you to bring up lessons, learn what works and what doesn’t and move on. We are not mind readers and sometimes elements change – so avoid assuming and ask if you are not sure. Whether it’s with your supplier, coach, employee,

TVC 044: Fit Family Kids Online or Outdoors | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 27:25

TVC 044 Fit Family: Kids Online or Outdoors This weeks podcast is all about balancing screen time with down time for kids. As a special guest I asked online guru and working mum Yvette Adams, to chat about her book No Kidding,  about bridging the gap for kids with modern life technology  and back to basics healthy living.   Last week I heard there was a statistic quoted in Australia,  saying that 57% of children were reportedly falling asleep at night with their mobile device still on on front of them.   This is alarming,  especially since the amount of childhood obesity is on the rise and children are more and more glued to their mobile devices. I’m actually not quite sure if that ‘57%’  is accurate and how they get that information, or even if I have that figure correct, as when ever I go and research it the numbers keep changing – some up to 70%…   However I certainly know that our kids are heading for a series short term highs and big time lows via the digital world that I never experienced growing up.   I can vividly remember crawling in bed at night as a child exhausted from a long day at school and all the activities that went with a life outdoors. Growing up in NZ I was not in the middle of a concrete jungle, and my natures playground has been a consistent part of my life from the moment I was up and mobile. I consider myself blessed  – especially now.   What if that life growing up outside is now the minority? The tired feeling kids get from just having fun until the street lights come on? Now their agenda is so fill with extra curriculum activities, homework, social engagements and screen time there is little wonder they are over-tired and under nourished.   I know many of my entrepreneurial and busy clients that have a family are dealing with the battle of distraction, of screen time and hand held devices filling home time, holidays and transit time with their children.   So how do we balancing Active Kids with The Pull of Technology? Have a listen to this weeks podcast. I welcome your comments and questions – we are going to have much more on this topic, bringing balance back into family life and how to help educate and empower your children to have lasting healthy habits.  TVC 042: 12 Ways of Fitmas and into 2015 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 23:59

TVC 042: 12 Ways of Fitmas.. and into 2015 Happy New Year folks. I know most of you are still in the middle of the holiday season that spans Christmas break and NY celebrations so here’s my 12 WAYS of a focused holiday season to keep you the life of the party and still look and feel fabulous. NO New Years diet resolutions for you lovely listeners and readers,  as we hit this goal setting season with the vigour of and the focus of an olympic athlete. In today’s podcast I share 12 quick top tips on finding balance, having fun and feeling fantastic. How to change your game plan during family holidays with a new approach to office parties, long lunches and old-school indulgence.  A fresh perspective that will have you off the couch and feeling fantastic all holiday long. Here’s your top 12 tips: * Your game plan First up remember that it’s up to you how you view the Christmas/New Year season in terms of keeping fit, healthy and feeling great. If you enter into it with the mindset “it’s going to wreck my plan and be so hard to be good” etc it’s a reflection you’re still on the diet and ‘exercise is a chore’ mentality. Why not integrate some healthy habits to maintain rather than a binge season to regret. You’re in charge. 2.  Know thy self If you like to get up early and have a moment to yourself before the rest of the family is running about then keep that up. Holidaying with friends and family and want to stick to your routine?  Just commit and offer for people to join but don’t give up on your plan if they decide to stay on the sofa with a wine…know your goals, what things you need to stay balanced and stick to your plan.   3. Change that story This really relates to point 1. If you’re reading this then chances are you’re an intelligent mover and shaker and really don’t need a lecture on having healthy habits. So what can you do this year to change your story and avoid the internal negotiation “I’ll just have one”… For example I know that I have the 80.20 rule. I am generally fit, healthy and eat well. So  having a glass of bubbles or two is not the end of the world. Don’t get sucked into the sugar train this holiday season either. Just avoid sweets, artificial foods and anything processed altogether. Fresh is best. Enjoy amazing summer produce, bring salads and berries and fresh deserts and healthy snacks to family events. Get inspired to be the best version of yourself.   4. Enjoy life Everything in moderation. Make great choices and enjoy the holidays. Put having fun for fitness at the top of your agenda. Try stand up paddle with your friends or family, book a learn to surf lesson or head out to the country side and explore the region. Dust off the bike and explore on 2 wheels rather than 4, take the dog outside and run around with plenty of fresh air and a fresh look at what simple things can be so enjoyable.  Spread some healthy holiday cheer with an outdoor glow…(just remember the sunscreen). Nature is an incredible gym. Go exploring.   5. Out with the old and in with the FEW Maybe this year it’s about setting boundaries and committing to events you really enjoy and choosing how you spend your time wisely. Also who you spend your time with.  Set some goals, assess
