Totally Tubular: First Cars | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:24:01

Welcome to our first ShortCast! We call them “Totally Tubular Editions”! (Like gag me with a spoon, riiight?) Once in a while, one or both of us will have another commitment that won’t allow us to get together to record the next scheduled episode (i.e. vacation, family matters, etc). So, we came up with these pre-recorded episodes where you get a chance to learn more about us and we’ll focus on one thing from the 80’s in each edition. This edition, we talk about our first cars. Let me tell you, we had no idea of some of the hilarious memories we’d have while talking about our first cars in the 80’s. Don’t worry, we’ll be back next Sunday continuing our usual movie segments, but please enjoy this closer look into us! Got your own first car story? Leave your story on our website!

 10 | Gotta Get Back To Zoltar | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:09:57

You’ve made it just in time to listen to the 10th episode featuring “Back To The Future” (1985). We’ll talk about our opinions on time travel, facts you may not have known about the movie and other fun stuff. No harm stating that we both gave this very high ratings. If ya don’t like it, jump into your own Delorean, go back in time and convince us otherwise! The last segment of the show, we give our nostalgia rating of another huge movie, this time from 1988. Well, it’s name was huge, but how does the movie rate with us? Zoltar is waiting for you.

 9 | Commies Take The Clock Tower | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:12:28

“Red Dawn” (1984) is up for cynical discussion in this episode after giving our nostalgic ratings last week. We stare right down the barrel of our guns and shoot straight and honest with our current ratings. Then, we take a look ahead… (or is it back?) at our next movie from 1985. Not sure what it is?  8 | They’re Heeere…. Wolverines!! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:07:59

You can’t stop them…. they’re heeere! Join us for epsiode 8 where we talk about killer clowns, hungry closets, face gouging, moving furniture and ghost sightings just to name a few. That’s right. We could only mean one movie… “Poltergeist” (1982). We have a haunting good time discussing key points of the movie. Then we go to war with our nostalgic review of our movie for next week. The title of this episode is plenty for you to guess what it is, but another hint is that it’s from 1984.

7 | I Swear Sometimes That Ghost Is Out To Get Me | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:07:33

Last episode, we put on our rose-colored kid glasses and gave a nostalgia rating for “Pet Sematary” (1989) and we were to watch it and talk about it this episode; however, we have had a change of plans since we recorded that episode. Sadly, Shawn’s mom had unexpectedly passed away and we ended up skipping a week and then posting the previous episode (6) up that we already had “in the can” the following week. So, now we are getting back on schedule; however, due to the topic and nature of Pet Sematary, we decided that we would change up the movie and let Shawn pick a movie that his mom enjoyed from the 80’s as a tribute to her and we would revisit Pet Sematary in the future. With that said, this week, we are talking about the comedic movie “9 to 5” (1982) with Dolly Parton, Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda. Shawn and his mom saw this movie together and she loved it, but what did we think about it? We’ll talk about our nostalgia ratings and then get right into our current ratings and talk about the movie and of course share memories about Shawn’s mom. As always, we’ll then announce the next movie we plan on discussing next week, which has got to be one of the most memorable films of the 80s. Don’t leave your TV’s on at night or else! Join us for this special episode in honor of Shawn’s mom!

 6 | A Breakfast You Can Dig | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:00:00

Make yourself some eggs, bacon and toast and sit back while you listen to our sixth episode featuring “The Breakfast Club” (1985). This iconic high school movie captures what all high schoolers go through in a short span of a not-so-typical Saturday detention. Then, we’ll announce the next movie from the horror genre from 1989 and we are sure you’ll dig it. What nostalgia rating will we give this King of a novel-turned-movie? Tune in and find out!

 5 | Shirley You Dont Mean Detention | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:54:41

Fasten Seatbelts (Putana Da Seatbeltz) and prepare for take-off for this week’s episode featuring our current review of “Airplane!” (1980). Were we both still flying high after our high nostalgia ratings from last week? In honor of the movie, we speak jive all the way through the show. Okay, maybe not. We couldn’t afford a translator for everyone! In the last segment, we talk about our nostalgic memories of a movie from 1985 where five very different stereotypical high school kids find a common bond while serving Saturday Detention in preparation for next week’s episode.

 4 | Ghosts On A Plane | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:05:08

Don’t be scared… Episode 4 is here! Last week, we gave our nostalgia rating for “Ghostbusters” (1984). This week, we’re here to give our current rating after watching it, and one of us has a change of opinion from last week and reveals a controversial current rating the other just can’t believe! Who ain’t ‘fraid of no ghosts?! Then, we fly into the next movie with our nostalgia ratings and reminisce about this classic movie from 1980. Tune in to find out what it is, but as always, the title of this episode should hopefully steer you in the right direction!

 3 | Kicking and Screaming | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:43:05

In this 3rd episode, we’re back to give our current rating of “The Karate Kid” (1984) and talk more about the movie. We both scored high on our nostalgia rating last week. Now that we’ve watched it again, we’ve got lots to talk about. And as usual, we get into the next movie and discuss our nostalgia ratings. You’ll have to tune in to find out what it is, but the title of this episode may give you a clue about this movie also from 1984!

 2 | Shopping List: Phone and Wax | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:43:51

We're back with our 2nd episode! In this episode, we've come back with our current ratings and comments after watching "E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial" (1982) and see if our nostalgia ratings from last week held up. Then, we get into the next movie, "The Karate Kid", from 1984 and start all over again with our nostalgia ratings and a walk down memory lane. This movie had a lot of people wanting to learn Karate through waxing, sanding and painting!
