7 | I Swear Sometimes That Ghost Is Out To Get Me

Hockey Masks, High Schools and Popcorn show

Summary: Last episode, we put on our rose-colored kid glasses and gave a nostalgia rating for “Pet Sematary” (1989) and we were to watch it and talk about it this episode; however, we have had a change of plans since we recorded that episode. Sadly, Shawn’s mom had unexpectedly passed away and we ended up skipping a week and then posting the previous episode (6) up that we already had “in the can” the following week. So, now we are getting back on schedule; however, due to the topic and nature of Pet Sematary, we decided that we would change up the movie and let Shawn pick a movie that his mom enjoyed from the 80’s as a tribute to her and we would revisit Pet Sematary in the future. With that said, this week, we are talking about the comedic movie “9 to 5” (1982) with Dolly Parton, Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda. Shawn and his mom saw this movie together and she loved it, but what did we think about it? We’ll talk about our nostalgia ratings and then get right into our current ratings and talk about the movie and of course share memories about Shawn’s mom. As always, we’ll then announce the next movie we plan on discussing next week, which has got to be one of the most memorable films of the 80s. Don’t leave your TV’s on at night or else! Join us for this special episode in honor of Shawn’s mom!
