 57 | Michael Myers Is NOT A Goodfella | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:03:30

Keeping with our announcement last episode, we're expanding our movie choices from not only the 80's, but also movies from the 70's and 90's as we realized a lot of the movies we grew up watching started in the 70's and go right through to the 90's.So, last week, we gave our nostalgic review and ratings of the 1978 horror classic "Halloween". We're back after watching it with our current ratings and discussion. Is this movie intelligent enough to scare today's audiences?  We'll break it down. And just because we can, we're jumping to 1990 after the break to talk about the next movie up for discussion where it follows Henry Hill and his friends working their way up through the mob hierarchy. Who doesn't love a good gangster-type movie?

 56 | We’re Going As Conan For Halloween | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:00:23

We're back to have a difference of opinion over this week's current discussion of "Conan The Barbarian" (1982). We've watched it last week and now we're back to talk about it. Who's got the more realistic current rating? We'll both defend our ratings to the death! After Conan, we announce a small format change that leads us into our next movie. Over the past year, we've focused strictly on movies of the 80's. Going forward, we're going to expand to movies ranging from the 70's to the 90's as we found that there are quite a few movies that started in the 70's and had sequels that went straight into the 90's. This change also aligns us more with our upcoming plans we have been teasing about with the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema!  More details on this to come! So, with that said, we're going back to 1978 for the start of an iconic horror villain and the beginning of a series that went all the way to 2002 before finally rebooting. The tagline of this movie was "It's the night he came home".

 55 | 1983 Trading Was Barbaric | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:53:26

It's another Eddie Murphy episode featuring "Trading Places" (1983)! Last week, we both gave pretty high nostalgic ratings for this 30 year old classic. But, does it hold up to our nostalgic memories? We'll go over our current review and ratings after watching it last week. We'll, then, set up next week's episode with our nostalgic discussion of one of Arnold Schwarzenegger's first break-out films (1982) prior to The Terminator.

 54 | Tuff Time Trading | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:54:03

"Tuff Turf" (1985) is up for cynical discussion after last episode's announcement of the our "Review and Win" contest winners where Jawsome took first place with her review of this movie. Check out her winning review and all the other winners and entries at movie-blogger.com! Although we haven't seen this movie before, we gave it a chance based on her review and now we're back to talk about it. Was this the most over-looked movie of the decade or does it just deserve to be over-looked? We'll break it down. Our next movie we're revisiting from 1983 has two Saturday Night Live alumni starring in a comedy where one goes from rags to riches and the other from riches to rags.

Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice! We just conjured up this week's episode featuring "Beetlejuice" (1988)! Michael Keaton is frightfully funny in this comedy about the afterlife. We're back after watching it and giving our two cents and our current ratings after last week's nostalgic discussion. Does this movie stand a ghost of a chance of holding up after all these years or is Michael Keaton the only ghost with the most in this flick? Once we give up the ghost... we'll move on to our next movie in preparation for our special 50th episode next week. The world looks a lot bigger and introduces unexpected dangers when you're only a quarter of an inch tall in this comedy/adventure from 1989. Finally, we'll give some hints to what's happening on our 50th episode, including some info about our special guests and of our 50th episode contest we've been hinting about. It's almost here!  48 | Bruce Willis Sees Dead People | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:01:19

Yippee Ki-yay! This week, it's our in-depth conversation of "Die Hard" (1988). Last week, we gave our nostalgic ratings before watching it again. Now, we're back to talk about it. Stupid security guards, stupid bad guys, and an English actor playing a German terrorist pretending to be an average American white-collar are some of the conversations we get into. Lots more that you don't want to miss. We just hope that after the break you don't say his name three times in a row from our next movie. We'd not want conjure up this dude until next week's current review. For this week, we'll give our nostalgic ratings and talk about some memories of this classic from 1988. Amazon.com Widgets

 47 | Charlie Takes Nakatomi Plaza | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:00:38

"This is our podcast. There are many like it, but this one is ours." Okay, not as powerful or compelling as the Rifleman's Creed from the movie "Full Metal Jacket" (1987), but you get the idea. We gave our nostalgic ratings last week, then watched it and now we're back to have our usual banter about the movie. Although we both gave this high ratings, it's due mostly for the boot camp portion of the movie. We'll get into this and other facets of the film. After the break, we'll go from a war in a country to a war in a building in next week's movie from 1988 that starred a TV actor gone full-blown action movie star and kicked off a bunch of sequels. We'll give our nostalgic reviews in preparation for next week.

 46 | Ferris Gets Drafted | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:58:52

Save Ferris! We have a good discussion over "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" (1986) after some fairly high nostalgic ratings last week. Mike and Shawn share two different opinions but agree it's a classic to enjoy. We'll break it down and talk about if Ferris is truly a righteous dude or is he just being a douche. Next week's movie from 1987 is nostalgically discussed after Ferris. We go back to Vietnam and go through basic training with the beloved Gunnery Sergeant Hartman. Make a name for your rifle and listen in as we get ready to discuss this movie in full next week.

 45 | Axel Foley’s Day Off | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:01:11

Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy) takes some time-off as a Detroit Police Detective to follow clues leading him to Beverly Hills, CA to investigate a friend's murder in this week's discussion of "Beverly Hills Cop" (1984). This is Eddie Murphy at his best in this comedy-laden film that gets to show off his acting chops as well as allowing him to show off his signature Eddie Murphy style. Then, we plan to ♪ shake it up baby now ♪ in the next movie from 1986 up for nostalgic discussion when someone else decides to take a day off. But in this case, it's just to skip school and have an adventurous day with his girlfriend and best friend.

44 | Ash Gets Arrested On Rodeo Drive | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:00:07

Coinciding with the movie release of "Evil Dead" this past weekend, we are going back to 1981 to talk about the original, classic "The Evil Dead" by legendary writer/director Sam Raimi. Shawn gave it a very high nostalgic rating last week and Mike stayed neutral. Will the passage of time ruin the movie? We've watched it again and are back to possess your soul (and give our current ratings)! We'll get into our nostalgic discussions of the next movie from 1984 coming up next week about a Detroit cop investigating a murder in Beverly Hills. Sounds like a serious drama, but it's all comedy, especially when it's star is Eddie Murphy.
