Even as we discuss Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles, the fall season necessitates talking about other sci fi shows starting up, like Fringe and Revolution. And what have the cast members of Continuum been working on in the time leading up to season one and while waiting to film season two? Whether it's the CW's Arrow or the upcoming Alex Cross, the stars of our favorite show have been busy! We discuss current projects in the works.
Faith and trust take center stage in episodes 7 and 8 of Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles. Central to both stories are the same two items that caused this whole mess in the Terminator movies: the arm (The Hand of God) and the chip (Vick's Chip). The guys also discuss Sci Fi News and the premiere episode of NBC's Revolution. // //
Adam Stern and Artifex Studios not only did an amazing job with the visual effects for Continuum, they also did a fantastic job of interacting with the fans of the show on Twitter and Facebook. Whether it's Kiera's HUD, the CPS Flyers, or the massive 3D landscape of 2077 Vancouver, Adam and his crew have made the VFX its own character in this series. We asked Adam about some of our favorite effects in this interview, two sci fi geeks to another. // //
Just as Kagame uses chess as a metaphor for planning changes for the future, chess figures both in the formation of John Connor and of Skynet. We discuss Andy Goode, Derek Reese, and even share a Carlos-Charlie comparison in our continuing comparative analysis of Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles and Continuum. This week we talk about Queen's Gambit and Dungeons & Dragons.
The parallels are easy to come by with Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles and Continuum. This week, the guys discuss The Turk (1x03) and Heavy Metal (1x04) as well as Sci Fi News and the YouTube short, "Stealing Time". Ah, the different flavors of time travel! // //
Mike and Dave were honored and privileged to speak with Omari Newton (Lucas Ingram) and Luvia Petersen (Jasmine Garza) about their characters, the show, and their other artistic endeavors. I can't think of anything else to write because I'm still amazed that this actually happened. We're just a couple of fanboys! Listen and live vicariously through our giddy delight.
Shifting to another time travel show in the hiatus - Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Mike brings fresh eyes to the discussion while Dave and fellow Lost Girl podcaster, Wayne, re-watch the series as it relates to Continuum, and time travel mechanics are the main point of comparison.
Highlights from Toronto include candid conversations with Simon Barry, Pat Williams, and Victor Webster; Continuum fan interviews; and select responses from the Q&A panel. Mike and Dave discuss some interesting "maze" imagery and some historical parallels from the show, as well as Sci Fi News and H+. Fan of the ARG? Listen to Mike's interview with some of the players. There are still a lot of unanswered questions at the end of Continuum, Season 1. Fortunately, most of them are enticing rather than frustrating. In this podcast we discuss our favorite unresolved plot elements along with Sci Fi News and a more detailed analysis of the first six episodes of H+ the Digital Series. Stick with us through the hiatus for more sci-fi fun!
Still plenty of speculation to share about season one and where each character is headed for an assumed season two of Continuum. Sci Fi News and the start of discussion of Bryan Singer's H+ Digital Series are also included. How did we still manage to fill an hour? So many questions...
Discussion of the season finale in a single podcast is a nearly impossible task! Mike and Dave will continue hashing over the details during the hiatus. Sci fi news and hiatus plans are included, but wow - what a ton of bombshells to talk about for this episode!
Many of the main characters gain several layers of depth in this riveting penultimate episode of Continuum taking place at Alec Sadler's family farm. Mike and Dave discuss the nuances of the story and make final predictions for the season finale next week. Sci Fi News and bonus content about unique upcoming sci fi films are included.
Video game nonsense mixes with mythology awesomeness in this edition of the Liber8 podcast with Mike and Dave. The nitpicks abound, but the admiration for the show is undiminished! Also included are sci fi news and a segment discussing time travel plotline conventions. Enjoy!
We were fortunate enough to persuade one of the Continuum writers, Jonathan Lloyd Walker, who also will appear in front of the camera in episodes 9 and 10, to speak with us during his long Vancouver commute. Jonathan is a wealth of information and was very forthcoming (though not in a spoiler-ish way), and he even answered a question on many fans' minds regarding this statement made by Lexa Doig during the live Tweet of episode 6, "Time's Up," which Jonathan co-wrote with Jeremy Smith: Trivia: the original "truth" was WAY more brutal than the one that we filmed... — Lexa Doig (@LexaShmexa) July 9, 2012 Want to know what "the original truth" was? Click below to find out! We certainly hope you enjoy listening to this interview as much we enjoyed conducting it. // //
It's all about trust and betrayal in this tech-heavy episode, and Mike and Dave have plenty to say about the character development of Carlos, Alec, and Kiera. Sci-fi news, nitpicks, and predictions are included, of course, and the guys also talk about crowd-sourced sci fi they've enjoyed.
