This post is here to explain the reasons for the delayed launch of my Lord of The Rings Fan Podcast. I encourage you to click the play button above to listen to the audio clip that I pulled out of episode 288 of Podcast Answer Man. I do not currently have a new date selected for the launch of the Lord of The Rings Podcast. However, it is a project that excites me and one that I continue to work on in the background. While I hope that show launches WELL BEFORE the release of the 2nd Hobbit movie, I will set that as an absolute deadline for myself.

My Secret Podcast Project Revealed In this episode, I finally reveal that The Lord of the Rings Fan Podcast is the secret project I've been working on over the past several months. I explain why I decided to create a Lord of the Rings fan podcast, the approach I'm taking to the show and the reason why I have decided to delay the official launch of the podcast. First Impressions of the New MySpace In this week's Social Media Segment, Erik J. Fisher and I discuss our first impressions of the new MySpace. My favorite episode of Chris' new show is the episode he did with his mom and dad. I absolutely love the fact that he published an unpolished interview with his parents; this adds to the flavor and personal touch that podcasting brings. I believe that one thing people really enjoy about the shows that I produce is that they have a personal touch and feel authentic, and it was great to experience that on Chris' podcast. Chris is not new to podcasting at all. In fact, together with Christopher S. Penn, he created PodCamp, the New Media UnConference. How My Production Quality Has Evolved Over 3000 Episodes I received a question from Matt on the voicemail feedback hotline. In this episode, I share an update on how the healing process is going after breaking two ribs two weeks ago. I also talk about how a new FitBit friend is motivating me to get back into my walking routine. I share some insights that I have gained as I reflect on the the past two weeks and how I've allowed myself to get in a place where I felt stressed and overwhelmed. In this, I share how, while I am getting pretty good at saying "No" to most requests for my time, I've still found it difficult to say no to some people who have offers that seem "too good to pass up." What Was I Thinking That's the thought that came to mind as I was preparing the content to record this week's episode of Podcast Answer Man. The first half of this episode sounded more like an episode of Pursuing A Balanced Life as I shared a lot of thoughts off the top my head without giving any prior thought as to what I was going to say. A few hours after I had recorded, I was actually thinking about whether or not I should even release this as an episode of Podcast Answer Man. I happened to have a few people who were watching me as I live streamed the recording and so I reached out to one of these friends and asked them what they thought. Back in episode 232 of Family From The Heart, Stephanie and I shared the story of one of the worst date nights that we had ever experienced. It is with great joy that we share this special episode of Family From The Heart where we share our best date night ever! Stephanie and I were invited by my friend, Dr. Lee C. Camp, to attend his most recent Tokens Show event held at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN. Camp, professor of theology & ethics at Lipscomb University, had been wondering for some years how the song-writers could get at poignant and important questions in a three minute song, while the theologians required hundreds of pages, and often not nearly so provocatively. So the question: how to let traditional theological inquiry be informed by and be in conversation with good music and song-writing and folk-tales? No answer was forthcoming for some years – at least no answer that promised not to ruin both elements. Then when Lee and his wife Laura, long-time listeners to Garrison Keillor, went to Garrison’s show at the Ryman on New Year’s Eve 2006, the “crazy idea” that became Tokens hit Lee and would not leave him alone: what about the old-time radio format, with some sort of under-stated but explicit and coherent theological agenda? There's something that is so funny about when jokes that are clearly meant to be an over exaggerated joke, but they are simply so close to the truth, that makes them even funnier. The Dispatches From The Buckle Podcast I met Dr. Lee C. Camp through my good friend, Dan Miller.
