The Securities and Exchange Commission, ignoring its legal mandate to ensure corporate transparency, accurate reporting, and the prevention of fraud and insider trading, has proposed rules mandating every publicly traded corporation adopt woke climate standards and goals accounting for the carbon dioxide emissions throughout its supply chain. Then, companies need to set goals to reduce emissions. The Free Enterprise Project's Scott Shepard points out this has nothing to do with what is best for businesses to flourish, make profits for business owners, or even investors, but everything to do with forcing the mission to fight climate change on the economy. Environmental, social, and governance (ESG) scores are one of the primary components of elites' plan for a Great Reset of the global economy. We've long worried that these ESG scores could soon be applied to individual credit scores, and a new prediction from FICO seems to support our worst fears. Justin Haskins and Donald Kendal break down this story in their latest episode of "Stopping Socialism."

The government is sending out free COVID-19 tests in the mail, despite the fact that many people accept that COVID is over. Phil Kerpen, president of American Commitment, discusses what this government distribution is really costing taxpayers (billions of dollars), what made the federal government believe it could distribute a consumer product better than the private sector, concerns about the validity of the tests, why no one pushed back on this idea, why ideas like this help inflation soar, and what impact this could all have on the mid-term elections. Early on in the pandemic, giving people rapid tests to do at home would have made sense because people could continue on with their lives with little disruption to the economy. Now, it’s become apparent the lockdowns did nothing to stop the virus.  Kerpen and John Fund wrote an op-ed on the subject for Spectator World.   Excerpts from the op-ed: Phil Kerpen: “What happens when a government thinks it can distribute a consumer product more efficiently than normal retail channels? Boondoggle and failure come to mind…. Two months ago, President Biden announced plans to buy 500 million at-home Covid test kits and mail them to anyone who wanted one. The Department of Defense put in orders for $1.275 billion of tests from iHealth, $340 million from Roche and $306 million from Abbott…. We’re not sure why Biden thought he could distribute a consumer product more efficiently than retail chains, but his purchase had the predictable consequence of diverting nearly all supply from the retail shelves to a new government program, run with the typical efficiency of the US Postal Service.” Phil Kerpen: “As the tests finally do arrive, many Americans will ask the obvious question: how much are the kits worth at a time when Covid cases are plunging? Even if you feel sick — not nearly as likely now — at low prevalence the tests lose their diagnostic value…. The iHealth test, which has started to show up in some mailboxes, has a false positive rate in its validation testing of just under 2 percent — it correctly identified 102 of 104 negative samples. In DC, PCR tests are running at about 2 percent positive now, which means a positive on the free Biden

There are thirteen states left who have resisted federal pressure to expand their Medicaid programs. Matt Dean, senior fellow on health care at The Heartland Institute, has been testifying before state legislatures in those states explaining why these states should resist the federal financial bait. In some cases, it’s not just the carrot but the stick they may need to resist if they fail to expand Medicaid. Once states expand their programs to the non-disabled, it will be very hard to go back. States find they are on the hook for unanticipated fiscal costs and can no longer try innovative programs to address health insurance problems. Dean discusses what he learned as a seven-term legislator in the Minnesota House of Representatives. Dean served in leadership roles and had oversight on health care finances. Minnesota was one of the early states to expand Medicaid under Obamacare. He discusses what impact the move has had on the private health insurance market as well as a program the state tried before expansion that actually worked to help the marginalized get better care from hospitals. Dean discusses the kind of pressure “hold out” states are under to expand their Medicaid programs and why that could be a negative thing overall for the country.

As a defense against the federal government sinking into tyranny, the Second Amendment of the Constitution of the United States prohibits the government from abrogating or otherwise interfering with the average person’s right to keep and bear arms. Elites have been chipping away at this right ever since. Courts, often composed of elites, have failed to defend American’s Second Amendment rights. Stephen P.
