  Award-winning author Kenneth R. Timmerman is president and CEO of the Foundation for Democracy in Iran.  He has spent his career investigating the dark side of national security.  His many books include St. Peter’s Bones (2011 Christian Small Publisher Book of the Year Award Winner); Shadow Warriors: The Untold Story of Traitors, Saboteurs, and the Party of Surrender; Preachers of Hate: Islam and the War on America; Honor Killing; and Countdown to Crisis: The Coming Nuclear Showdown with Iran. His work as an investigative reporter has been showcased by a wide variety of media outlets, to include The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Times, Newsmax, FrontPage Magazine, The New York Post, National Review Online, and Human Events.  He has presented his findings before Congress in public testimony and in Special Reports commissioned by various committees.   Over the past 3 decades, Mr. Timmerman has revealed how failed U.S. policies have helped create new threats to our nation from Russia, China, and Iran.  He has interviewed dissidents behind the Iron Curtain, covered numerous Middle East wars and false-hope peace treaties, interviewed suicide bombers, debriefed defectors from Iranian intelligence organizations, and covered the plight of Christians persecuted for their faith.   For Mr. Timmerman’s work in exposing the Islamic Republic of Iran’s nuclear weapons program, he was nominated for the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize by former Swedish Deputy Prime Minister Per Ahlmark; and in February 2011, he was awarded the Reed Irvine Accuracy in Media prize for Investigative Journalism.

  Fritz W. Ermarth is the former Director of National Security Programs at the Nixon Center. He is also a part-time senior analyst for the Strategies Group at Science Applications International Corporation. Ermarth worked for the Central Intelligence Agency from 1973 until 1998, serving as Chairman of the National Intelligence Council, as National Intelligence Officer for the USSR and East Europe and Director of the Strategic Evaluation Center.   Widely considered to be a true hero of the Cold War, Ermarth has received both the Distinguished Intelligence Medal and the National Intelligence Distinguished Service Medal. Ermarth also served as Special Assistant to the President during the Ronald Reagan’s presidency, as well as Senior Director of Soviet and European Affairs.

  This episode features two great authors, Paul Palango and Reza Kahlili.   Paul Palango is an author and investigative journalist. His two most recent books-about the RCMP-are Above The Law and The Last Guardians. His stints as a journalist include the Hamilton Spectator and the Toronto Sun. From 1977 to 1990 he was a news reporter, sports editor, city editor and national editor at The Globe and Mail-where he supervised the investigative journalists across the country. In 1989, on behalf of the Globe and its staff, he was selected to accept the Michener Award from then Governor-General Jeanne Sauvé.   In recent years Mr. Palango has published numerous articles in newspapers across Canada and has been a frequent commentator on matters involving the RCMP and policing in general. In that capacity he has appeared more than 300 times on radio and television in Canada and the United States. He lives in Chester Basin, Nova Scotia.   Reza Kahlili is a former CIA operative who worked in the Iranian Revolutionary Guards. His historical memoir, A Time To Betray (www.atimetobetray.com), a winner of 2010 National & 2011 International book awards, is required reading for U.S. Government intelligence training programs.   Kahlili teaches at the U.S. Department of Defense’s Joint Counterintelligence Training Academy (JCITA) and at the Centre for Counterintelligence and Security Studies. “Reza Kahlili” is a pseudonym for security purposes. Kahlili has been featured on ABC, CBN, C-Span, Fox, MSNBC, Forbes, the Christian Science Monitor and numerous other media outlets.
