Sofie was born in Denmark and raised by two Special Ed teachers. Her father is an entrepreneur, having created an entire education system for Special Ed students in Denmark. She moved to the US in 1999 after meeting her husband, and had previously completed her nursing education in her native country. Working in pediatrics for many years, she noticed how children were not well-prepared for medical procedures, and when her son had a negative experience undergoing a procedure, she decided to take matters into her own hands. In partnership with illustrator Mike Ferrin, Sofie has now created her own line of children’s books with the goal of assisting children in being prepared for various medical and diagnostic procedures.

Linda Peacock is currently an Infusion Account Manager for a global biotech company. Linda’s role is educating healthcare professionals in hospitals, infusion centers, and offices in a large territory in the Northeast. An accomplished health management professional with extensive clinical expertise within the hospital, specialty pharmacy, pharmaceutical and biotech industries, Linda's career spans several decades and includes 17 years at Albany Medical College and nine years as an Assistant Executive Director of a regional hemophilia center. She has been very successful in many roles in the pharmaceutical industry, including with her current company. Linda received her RN in 1992 after many years as a nurse’s aide and LPN. In 1994, she received her BSN at Regents College (now known as Excelsior College). In 1999, she was awarded an MBA by the State University New York at Albany.

Beth Lincoln, MSN, RN, is a diploma graduate of the Providence College of Nursing, and received her BSN from Pacific Union College. She received her MSN from the University of California, San Fransisco and she is a certified Family and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. Beth is the author of “Reflections From Common Ground: Cultural Awareness in Healthcare”, and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Transcultural Nursing Society. Born and raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico, David S. Rodriguez graduated from Santa Fe High School in 1976 and began working as a Nursing Assistant in a local nursing home. His nursing career began in 1978 while enrolled in what was then known as the St Vincent’s School of Nursing. In 1983, he became licensed as a Nursing Home Administrator, and has served in this capacity in three Santa Fe facilities.   Mr. Rodriguez served as a state and federal inspector, and also as the Director of the Division of Health Improvement, which was the regulatory arm of the New Mexico Department of Health for all licensed health care facilities. Most recently, Mr. Rodriguez opened a new hospice agency here in Santa Fe, known as Del Corazon Hospice ("From the Heart"). Del Corazon has served nearly one hundred families in Santa Fe since opening in January of 2012.

Mary Elaine Kiener, RN, PhD is the Founder and Creative Energy Officer (CEO) of ASK ME House, LLC, offering holistic solutions to improve well-being. The journey to ASK ME House began in the mid-1990s, when Mary Elaine found her body-mind-spirit lost in a quagmire of personal and professional burnout.  As part of her own healing, she began to learn how stress, engagement, health and performance link together to influence well-being, energy management and productivity. She created a transformational holistic nursing practice to assist clients in creating and nurturing their own healing journeys.

Elizabeth “Coach” Scala, MSN/MBA, RN is passionate about helping healthcare professionals, nurses in particular, to embody holistic living and embrace self-care. Through her business, Living SublimeWellness, she writes regularly on the topic of self-care, conducts a free, monthly wellness workshop, and offers both inperson and online seminars for busy nurses. Elizabeth is a Certified Health andWellness Coach and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and Master’s degrees in both Business and Nursing. Originally from Carmel, NY, she now lives in Baltimore,MD with her husband and two dogs.

  Carol Gino RN, MA, has been a nurse, author and teacher for many years. As author of the best-selling book, “The Nurse’s Story”, Carol is a consistently positive, provocative and inspiring voice for nurses and the nursing profession. She has worked in all areas of nursing including ER, Intensive Care, the Burn Unit, Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Pediatric Intensive Care, and Hospice Care for the terminally ill. Maureen Sullivan is a Registered Nurse with a background of more than 25 years in Emergency and Trauma Nursing. She has a BSN, and is nationally certified as both a CEN and CDE. Approximately 6 years ago, while serving in the role of Director of Staff Education, Maureen took classes in both improvisation and comedy (in order to keep her audience “engaged”) and it developed into a second career as a professional standup comedian. Maureen now does "corporate comedy", and has worked with the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society, and the American Alzheimers Association, mostly offering health presentations and fundraisers.

  Ann Johnson is co-founder and CEO of Wild Iris Medical Education. She is a Registered Nurse who has worked in many areas of the profession.  Ann’s last hospital job was as an emergency department manager and director of the Drug-Free Workplace Program at Ukiah Valley Medical Center in Ukiah, California. She was also a nursing instructor for 5 years at College of the Redwoods in Fort Bragg, California. Ann lives and now works from her property in the redwoods of California. She served 25 years as a volunteer fire fighter with the Comptche Volunteer Fire Department. Wild Iris was founded in 1999, and sold their first CEU course the day that the company launched. Currently, this nurse-owned virtual company without a physical location boasts four employees and many contract workers. 

Judith Redwing Keyssar, RN, Author, is the Director of the Palliative Care Program at Seniors at Home, a division of Jewish Family and Children’s Services of San Francisco.   As a “midwife to the dying” she draws upon 20+ years of nursing experience in oncology, critical care and hospice. Her recent book, Last Acts of Kindness; Lessons for the Living from the Bedsides of the Dying, won a 2011 American Journal of Nursing Book of the Year Award.

Dr. Victoria Rich is recognized for her leadership in healthcare, business and nursing education; and most notably for her pioneering work in patient safety and cultural diversity. Dr. Rich has developed numerous patient safety initiatives for healthcare systems both nationally and internationally. Her experiential knowledge enabled her to develop a model for creating a risk reduction culture in healthcare through the process of systemic mindfulness. Dr. Rich, a fellow in the American Academy of Nursing, is currently Chief Nurse Executive and Associate Executive Director at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center. She directs inpatient and outpatient nursing practice at the 802-bed, quaternary acute care academic center and 47 medical practice sites.  For the last 10 years, the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania has been ranked as one of Best Hospitals in the Philadelphia region and the the United States by US News and World Report. Dr. Rich is one of the few Chief Nurse Executives in the United States who also is an Associate Professor of Nursing Administration at the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Nursing. This joint appointment has enabled her to impact the changing landscape of healthcare by embracing a vision of a decreased variation and continuity of patient care delivery systems. Dr. Rich has created the Rich Leadership Academy, which is comprised of expert Nurse Leaders who customize day long programs to nursing organizations who are requesting nurse renewal strategies, tool kits for patient and employee safety and patient satisfaction innovative approaches to engage clinical staff to be accountable. The hallmark of the Academy is to assist leaders to move from transactional leadership to transformative leadership through the art of executive narrative and storytelling strategies that can result in measureable patient outcomes.

Candy Treft, RN, aka The Gypsy Nurse, has worked in healthcare for nearly 20 years. Candy has worked as an RN since 2000. She discovered early on that she suffered from Hypertravelosis and has worked as a Travel Nurse since 2004.   While working and networking with many nurses throughout the US, Candy discovered that the
