 PMP: Hypersensitivity & the Pagan | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:16:00

We sometimes take our topic inspirations from odd places. Shauna Aura Knight's blog isn't al that odd, but the reblogged article she shared early in January might at least seem that way. Are You a Highly Sensitive Person? She shares some very personal aspects of her own hypersensitivity in the following post and also shares how the information may be valuable to people and to leaders. KaliSara and RevKess explore that topic in this edition. Shauna may join them for part or all of the discussion. UPDATE: We apologizxe for the abrupt ending to the show, both Shauna and KaliSara lost ther connection at the same time. The conversation will continue on February 2nd. SHOW NOTES available here.

 PMP: Shauna Aura & Leadership | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:03:00

Once again Shauna Aura Knight joins RevKess and KaliSara. This time to talk specifically about leadership in the Pagan community. The jumping off point for this edition is Shauna's January 12 article about leadership and the series that follows. Shauna is the author of Spiritual Scents: Creative Use of Scent and Fire in Ritual as well as Dreamwork an Initiate's Path, both available through Jupiter Press. She also writes erotica and has had articles included in various anthologies. Along with RevKess and several others she is an author on PaganActivist.com. Read her bio from her blog site here.

PMP: Enough is Enough | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:01:00

In this episode RevKess and KaliSara get really personal, and possibly really loud, on the topic of rape, cisgenderism, radical feminism, and other hot topics. Thanks in part to a blog article on Radical Wind and the continued off the wall commentary from (in)famous Pagans like Z Budapest, this is a discussion that has been resurfacing for three years or more in the Pagan global community. Enough is enough. Your hosts will lay it all out for you on what they think on these and other topics that keep cropping up across the internet and in print publications.

Anne Hill joins the show for a chat about her new class through Cherry Hill Seminary. Real World Pagan Ethics is being offered as a Tuesday Goggle Hangout class through CHS as part of the Rhizomes Courses. "What does it mean to be an ethical magical practitioner? How can you tell if a teacher or coven leader has good boundaries? When we step into leadership, how can we make sure we are doing right by our communities? This course is designed to help clarify our internal ethical code, and then apply it to the areas of Community, Service, Ritual, and Leadership."  Lavender Hill #148: Brandon Teena, BSA & More | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:00:00

This episode originally aired live on Sunday 29 December 2013 on KZUM in Lincoln, NE. Phil went solo for the show as Corwin was having car trouble. The lead story was the front page of the Lincoln Journal Star and their 20 year follow-up on the Brandon Teena murder. Phil followed that up with coverage of the Boy Scouts of America and their new policy allowing for openly gay Scouts and troop leaders that went into effect on January 1, 2014. Other stories were covered as well. Twenty years ago Brandon Teena and two of his friends were murdered in a house outside of Humbolt, NE. The murder had a personal element to it for Phil. He had family in Humbolt at the time, worked with Brandon's sister and was discovering what the Nebraska atmosphere for the LGBTQ population was like at the time. Twenty years later and things are only slightly better. Listen to the episode to hear more and learn about some of the other issues that Phil talked about during his first solo edition of Lavender Hill.

 PMP: Hestia's Fire & Human Evolution | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:13:00

Hestia rules the hearth-fire, which we use for cooking, warmth and security. But how does that make us human? RevKess & Kalisara will discuss a new thesis on how cooking food is responsible for making us modern humans. We will also talk about the psychological and social needs for fire, the spirituality surrounding Hestia, and (if we have time) FOOD!

PMP: Engaging the Spirit World with Lupa - Animism for today | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 03:00:00

We strayed from the topic of the show, but spent nearly three hours talking with Lupa about her projects, her books, her personal spiritual beliefs. We hope that you, the listener, enjoy the conversation as much as we did. As Lupa put it "a three hour interview-turned conversational artwork".  Lupa is back to talk about her newest book, Engaging the Spirit World, and the concept of animism. About Engaging the Spirit World (taken from http://www.thegreenwolf.com): Animism--the belief in spirits--is considered to be an integral part of many pagans' paths. We call on these beings when we create our rituals, when we work magic, and even in our everyday lives. For some, though, spirits are the very center of their practices. This book collects writings from a variety of practitioners, exploring animism in nature, in technology, and even within the human psyche. Speaking from both theory and practice, the authors present personal experiences to demonstrate concepts, and provide ideas and tools for the reader to work with. Featuring essays from Dawn M. Allenbach, Kali Black, Veronica Cummer, Kenn Day, jaymi elford, Taylor Ellwood, S. Kelley Harrell, Raven Kaldera, Erynn Rowan Laurie, Rhiannon Louve, Lupa, Bari Mandelbaum, Paleo, Pia Van Ravestein, Andrieh Vitimus and Mel White. Talking About the Elephant is an attempt to shatter that stillness and to promote constructive communication about the issues surrounding cultural appropriation in neopaganism.
