PMP: New Alexandrian Library & Community Support | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:05:00

The Pagan-Musings Podcast Channel has been a regular supporter of various community projects and fund raisers over the years. From music projects to books, from helping Pagan websites pay for their hosting to raising money to help a Pagan in need. Many of these fund raising projects have been great successes. In this episode KaliSara and RevKess will visit with Ivo Dominguez Jr about the success of the New Alexandrian Library Project and its on-going funding needs. The New Alexandrian Library is a project to create a home for Neo-Pagan (etc) artiacts, books, pieces of art and more. A place to preserve these items ffor posterity. NAL is continuing to raise funds to build more onto the library. From the IndieGoGo page for their current funding project: We already have several important collections of books in storage including the entire library from the Theosophical Society of Washington, DC. Judy Harrow, of blessed memory, just left us her library as well. We have started collecting newsletters, event program books, old recordings, and more that is a history that will soon be lost if not preserved. We already have important art and artifacts including paintings of the Four Archangels by Dion Fortune. This library will be open to all and will engage in inter-library loan with similar projects elsewhere. Some rare special collections will not circulate. NAL is just one of many worthy community support projects that currently in action or are on-going. As time allows, RevKess and KaliSara will discuss some of the others.

 PMP: Dia Crabtree & PaganPro.org - Making Safe the Circle | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:00:00

Lydia (Dia) Crabtree is a minister, author, and pagan activist. She has led a team to create PaganPro.org, website dedicated to sharing information regarding style, background and even abuser/predator behaviors of speakers, presenters and leaders in the Pagan community. "Pagan Pro is a freemium modeled web based service. Pagan community members can create an account with an email and password and have limited access to the information contained in the Pagan Pro databases. There will be a leveled membership which will allow greater access to the information in the Pagan Pro database and other perks of membership by users. Pagan Pro charges membership to offset the cost of running this not for profit organization. Pagan Pro will invite leaders to join PaganPro.org and create a profile. This profile will require leaders to answer a series of survey questions that are based upon previous surveys given by Pagan Pro and reflect the information the community has indicated it desires to know. Some answers to the survey questions will be available to all users of the site while membership will permit complete access to information in the Pagan Pro database."

PMP: Alex Bledsoe & Tuatha Dea - From The Hum and the Shiver to Tufa Tales | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:04:00

About The Hum and the Shiver (from http://alexbledsoe.com/the-tufa/the-hum-and-the-shiver/ ): "No one knows where the Tufa came from, or how they ended up in the mountains of East Tennessee.  When the first Europeans came to the Smoky Mountains, the Tufa were already there.  Dark-haired and enigmatic, they live quietly in the hills and valleys of Cloud County, their origins lost to history.  But there are clues in their music, hidden in the songs they have passed down for generations… " Tuatha Dea wrote music based on Alex Bledsoe's trilogy, taking inspiration from the stories he wrote. Join RevKess and Kalisara as we talk to Alex and Tuatha Dea to learn more about Alex's writings, as well as the music that it inspired.

PMP: Divining Your Dark Through Tarot, Runes, Meditation & Dreams | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:00:00

Our long time listeners have heard KaliSara and RevKess talk a lot about delving into the Dark, preparing for the Dark of the Year, looking into the Abyss and all manner of related topics. In this week's episode they are going to talk about using various divination techniques to hellp explore the Dark. When they say Dark the do not mean the lack of light, they do not mean hell (whatever that is). They mean the deep, often times uncomfortable, realm of the Self. Through the use of Tarot, Runes, other oracles, and dream and meditation work, one can look into the Dark, divine what it has to share with you. In this episode several techniques will touched upon as well as ways to help safe guard yourself when working with these tools. Last year the hosts did a segment exploring some of this very topic. You can listen to that here: Walking Through the Dark (Oct. 13, 2013).  Please note: The hosts will not be doing live divination for listeners during this program.

He'll talk a little about that experience and share some of the insights that were brought up by the other panelists. It is winter time! That means that we are facing the winter holidays as well as the cold and dark. Both uncomfortable situations for many people.  PMP: Denean - Sun Child Returning | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:01:00

Denean, winner of the 2000 New Mexico "MIC" Award's "Producer of the Year", began playing piano when she was three. "...my background ranges from classical and gospel to my Nashville years as a country/pop singer, songwriter and recording artist. In 1990 my creative focus turned to music for healing and nurturing the soul, thus my true path began," says Denean. Denean spent over a decade on the Nashville scene. In 1991 Denean left a recording deal with a country label to join Etherean Music of Colorado where she released "Fire Prayer" (1991), "The Weaving" (1993), and "Thunder" (1994) for which she has received international acclaim. While recording "The Weaving" Denean was also working with Disney's Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz as the voice of Pocahontas in the developmental stages of the animated feature film. "As you may know from my recent email, my new album WIKU (Sun Child Returning) is here! It all began a few years ago in deep meditation and ceremony. The focus of my intention was purification and a return to the innocence and light-heartedness of a child while at the same time nourishing and respecting the wisdom that life teaches and that has deepened through my journey. The spirit world gave a symbol and gave it a name. "Wiku" is a Lakota word... it means "Sun Child Returning". In the symbol you see the belly "pregnant with life" and the arm extended back which means "letting go of the past". This total surrendering of past... is how one returns to innocence. It cannot truly be done without letting go of this particular sacrifice...the past...all of it! When this is done, you are then able to be fully present in the now. You are free."

PMP: Beyond the Veil: Using veils and head-coverings in Pagan practice | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:00:00

It is not uncommon to find Pagan high priestesses and celebrants wearing something on their heads, be it a full, face-covering veil, a headdress, a hair-covering scarf or shawl, or even a small, tiara-like circlet. This week, Kalisara and RevKess are bringing you a panel discussion: Pagan women from many different paths and beliefs who share the practice of using veils and other head coverings in their ritual and/or daily lives. While we have touched on this topic previously, this time we will hear from those women who practice veiling, discussing the why's, the how's, the when's, as well as the problems that can come from veiling. We will be hearing their stories, many of which embody a quiet strength reflective of the oft-veiled Matron Goddesses.

We could go anywhere with this, and we will probably be touching on some passionate topics. Look for us to address the personal affects of privacy for celebrities and social norms for public image, as well as the responsibilities of and affects on the Pagan community regarding public accusations of well-known persons.
